It's been a long time since I read Carpe Jugulum the book - and this has reminded me how much fun Lancre and the witches are. I'd love to see a stage production of this - or any of the other Briggs adaptations.

This was a delight. Nanny Ogg is one of the most wonderful characters I've ever met. This was a joyful, playful romp through the world of witches, kings and vampires; good and evil (and the murky in-between), and even a bit of coming-of-age...

Very witty, very English, and as powerful as a trio of witches. Even though we never got to perform it, this play will always have a special place in my heart.

I read Terry Pratchetts book when I was studying for my BTEC diploma in the performance arts. It was and still remains to this dby, the only book I have read by this author. We did a play based on this book which I did find extremely enjoyable but the genre is one I am not so familiar with hence the low rating. I did love the witches and a line I still remember vividly is:
'Inside every fat girl they say, is a thin girl trying to get out' and this particular witch has a thin girl inside her who is the complete opposite; whereas she's endearing, her inner witch is less than charming. I haven't studied this book for the past ten years so you will have to excuse my vague review. It has vampires and witches and primarily focuses on the battles that elude between them both. The books primary theme is folklore and myth but contains humour and action. If you love vampires, action, mythology, humour, wit and witches then this could be a good read for you.
happy reading!

Terry Pratchett always has decent books, and the humor+fantasy combination is unique and enjoyable. I really can't remember much about this one, other than the title, and the vampires. But it was good.
