I’ve known fear.
I’ve known pain.
I’ve known horror.
I’ve known all of it.
I’ve guarded myself as best I can.
I’ve hidden myself from him.
I’ve changed my name.
I’ve moved.
But he still haunts me.
One day, I’m sure he’ll find me again.
I don’t trust anybody.
I don’t believe in anybody.
I just want to be free.
Until I meet Jack.
I’m not looking for him, but that’s the thing about heroes.
You’re never looking for them.
He won’t take no for an answer.
He’ll battle past my fear, my pain, and my horror.
He’ll sweep into my life like a hurricane, and it won’t matter how hard I fight.
He’ll break past my walls.
And he’ll change me.
Maybe, he’ll even save me.

This book started out really good and I was enjoying getting to watch Jack not having an easy time with the woman he wanted. But as the story went on Baylee annoyed me more and more to the point I couldn't enjoy the story as much as I hoped I would.

I don't need the heroine to be the most perfect woman in the world, but I hate heroines that can't stand up for themselves. The way Baylee let Rae treat her like shit disgusted me and I was rooting for someone coming in and slapping the shit out of both of them. It wasn't even just a few times, there were many occurrences where Rae was downright mean to Baylee and more than just a bratty kid, she was a shitty person. It made me hate Baylee so much and the fact that she took the shit life threw at her and let it make her weak had me wanting to punch her.

The story was honestly only okay for me and I didn't really feel like much happened other than flashbacks and Baylee being scared. It was all just very predictable for me and nothing surprised me or had me overly invested in the book. And then the ending just annoyed me because I didn't agree with how Baylee handled an issue that came up and it just wasn't an HEA I was looking for.

Bottom line, this book wasn't for me. I love BJ's previous books in this series but it just seems like the kids' stories aren't my kind of books.

Really liked Jack.

I really enjoyed this book. Jack and Baylee are great characters. From the very beginning my heart broke for Baylee. She is such a sweet caring girl and she got treated so horribly. Her living in fear everyday. She just wanted a peaceful life someone to luv her and make her happy it wasn't a lot to ask was it? Then Jack came pushing his way into her life not taking no for a answer.

Jack is very cocky and very sure if himself. Woman don't say no to him until Baylee. She just turned him down without him saying a word. I have to say I luvd this. It's great keeping men like Jack on there toes ;) But Jack being Jack he got what he wanted and that was Baylee. He liked her as soon as he caught sure if her. Baylee is very beautiful even though she doesnt see it. This only makes him want her more.

This story was so good. I have to say I was a lil worried about reading this. I luv this author so much. But her last book was missing something I still enjoyed it just missed something. This book has everything that I luv about her books. The drama had my gripped from the start. I was in the emotional rollercoaster with Baylee for moist of the book. I was hooked to the book from start to finish.

I would highly recommend this book. I m looking forward to more from the Joker MC hot bikers are just the best.

The plot was very predictable and ordinary. I don't dislike female characters but I really think these two are the worst.

Rae, an annoying little shit who hates the world and blame Baylee for her shortcomings she doesn't take any responsibility for herself whatsoever. Baylee lets her treat her like crap it was so annoying to read.

The one thing I did like is Jack, he's a typical Bella male character. Charming, sexy, swoony. I did like him and Baylee together they make a great couple but she ruined this story for me, too weak and no backbone.

This story fell very flat for me just ordinary. Baylee and Rae annoyed the crap out of me. I don't usually hate female character unless they're complete bitches but here Rae was an annoying little shit and Baylee let her treat her like crap. It was very annoying to read. This story lacked that Bella magic, the one thing I did like is Jack, he's a typical Bella male character. Charming, sexy, swoony, I did like him and Baylee together they make a couple but she ruined this story for me too weak and no back bone

~ 3.5 Stars ~

Valiant is the second book that follows the new generation of the Jokers’ Wrath members. I have to be honest and say that I’m kind of all over the place. The first one was a bit of a struggle for me and I honestly thought about not going any further. However, I’m a huge Bella Jewel fan and I just couldn’t pass this one up. I’m glad that I gave it another shot because I actually enjoyed this story. I would have missed out on one of the sweetest guys ever.

When Jack meets Baylee and he comes off cocky and so self confident, I knew I was a going to fall for him. He chases Baylee with that confidence and uses his charm that creates a slow burn. What I didn’t expect was just how sweet he was. I’m pretty sure that I melted at everything he ever said to Baylee.

“Show me, because I want to show you, here and how, there is nothing you can show me, or tell me, that’ll ever make me think you’re not the most incredible, beautiful, woman I’ve ever met.”

Seriously? He’s just so swoon worthy. At first I thought that it might bother me because he most certainly isn’t your typical biker. I like them raw and gritty so I was shocked to see how much I enjoyed the softer, sweet guy. I think it just worked with Baylee.

I think some people might get annoyed with Baylee but I felt for her. Her past was horrific and she’s battling her own demons right now. Just trying to survive. Jack comes into her life at the perfect time.

I did like that we get more of the original men and get some face time with Mack, Maddox and some of the other men and women. I’m glad that we still get pieces of them, because they are ultimately what makes up this series and will always have a special place for those of us that have been there from the start.

Overall, I enjoyed this one. If you are looking for a lighter MC book with one of the biggest swoon worthy sweethearts, then this just might be the book for you.

The storyline is one of those that I enjoy reading, and I would loved it if not for one thing... I like h to be with a bigger backbone. Don't get me wrong, I don't need for h to be freakn wonder woman, able to literally kick ass all the time. I just need someone who despite her fear, she will always fight for herself. And Baylee didn't have it at all until the last few pages. And then it was to late for me to get connection with her. Chapters jumps from present to past. And no matter in which you would be, all you are shown how timid and weak Baylee is. Maybe I could have been able to deal with it better, if Baylee would have been someone with a fire before her life started to crumble. When that fire was extinguished with words and fists. But Baylee was not a fighter even before. So, it was frustrating for me. And I guess because of it, I was indifferent, when those supposed to be her heartbreaking parts from the past came. Which made me feel a little bad, because you have to feel something more then annoyance on those painful Baylees moments. The only thing I loved here is the club. It was nice to meet original characters from Jokers Wrath.

The reviews worried me but I sincerely enjoyed this book. I don’t usually save quotes or highlights but I did. Jack and diesel (Mack and Jaylah’s boys) are awesome in this book! *Trigger warning* physical abuse (not from joker wrath family) and it is a a HEA. Sex? Love? Hope? Yes, yes, and yes

OMG I friggin loved this book... I soooooo wanted Jack to get his girl... and what a girl she was... God I loved Baylee... she is such a sweet caring loving girl and she got treated so horribly and she had lived thru some horrific ordeals. And Rae... don't get me started on her.. GOD what a spoiled entitled little S**T.. now don't get me wrong.. I feel horrible for what happened to her but seriously show some class... and stop being a winey little B***H.. ANYWHOO..
I loved Jack and Baylee together.. she didn't want to like Jack... but he kept pushing and pushing.. until he didn't.. I love the advice he was given by his friends.. (you saw some of this in bestie..) I can not wait for the next in the series...

I decided to go on an MC binge and finish some series I've started literally years ago. I adored the Joker's Wrath MC and actually put it off because I didn't want to part ways with them but will add the next generation series to my tbr list right away.

This story was more about Baylee and the shitty hand she was dealt with, the main focus was her struggle and not the MC, but I didn't mind. She had to get over her past even as it was haunting her and learn to live again and Jack was the perfect man to help her with that. He was patient, understanding, and just so sweet in general.

Great ending, next generation, here I come!

I liked the first half, but was bored with the second half. It did not really have an ending. I guess you find out what really happened to this couple in other books.

Mediocre. It filled the time.

Rating: ★★★★1/2 Stars (Rounded to 5* for Goodreads and Amazon)

Review

description

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Bella Jewel writes fantastic family fiction.

Okay, so getting into the nitty gritty of this story, it’s romance with just the right level of suspense mixed in. It follows two people who eventually meet and find something in one another that they haven’t been able to find, or in the case of our heroine in this story, Baylee, haven’t wanted to find, in anyone else.

But going deeper into it, especially with the Next Generation series of novels, we’re getting to see an even bigger dynamic, and its family. They’re tight knit, even more so than in the original novels I would venture to say and there is no mistaking with the way they all interact that they’re family. There is humor, there is in-fighting, but more than anything else, there is love and it makes these stories even more entertaining for me as the reader than they would have been having this element and these characters added in.

I loved Jack. He wasn’t like any of the other guys from the series and definitely not like his brother Diesel at all. He had an air of cockiness right off the bat that turned into curiosity I think, but it was all driven by the overwhelming need to be a good person. He was just the sweetest and more so than any other hero, I swooned over him and I did it hard.

His feelings, what he was willing to do for her, how patient he was while Baylee came to terms with the whole shitload of pain she’d been dealt, was truly beautiful and extraordinary and I’m so glad that he was the one for her. Jack was definitely the one she needed to show her it was okay to love again and more than that, to live again, infusing her with a strength I know deep down she never thought she would be able to have again. A trust and a belief that not all guys are the same as the one that thoroughly broke her.

I think the more suspense driven portion, where things really hit the fan seemed to come and go rather quickly this time around, which bothered me a little, but even with the quickened state of that, I do believe it packed the same punch that all of these MC stories always do. It pulled me in emotionally with the looks back at the past and especially in the future when the truth of Baylee’s past all comes out and that’s what I most enjoy about reading these stories, even if they do end too soon. I enjoy the pull I get and the need to see a beautiful real beginning for two characters I’ve come to enjoy.

If you’re a fan of this author or of any of the previous books in this series, I think this is one you need to pick up and read, and if this is your first book by this author, it’s my hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.

My thanks to the author and all others involved in letting me read an early copy of this story. Baylee’s journey and then her journey to love and happiness with Jack is one I’m so thankful to have taken.

Madison is hiding from the man she once loved. She's reinvented herself and is now known as Baylee. She may have left hell back when she escaped but her life isn't much better. She didn't leave alone. She took York's little sister, Rae with her. She's seventeen and pregnant. And she's a total witch. She's ungrateful, a slob and never ceases to blame Baylee for everything. But Baylee just wants to get her through this pregnancy. The plan is to put the baby up for adoption. York didn't just abuse Baylee, Rae took the brunt of his madness too.

The anger of a man that I once called my boyfriend. The love of my life. The man I wanted to spend eternity with. How can one chance so quickly? How can everything good be stripped from their soul, only to be replaced with ugliness?
So much ugliness?
I know the answer to that.
Drugs.

Baylee's best friend Shania came with the two of them. She moved her whole life to be with Baylee. Shania doesn't share the same loyalty to Rae that Baylee does, she thinks she should stop working two jobs to support the two of them. Rae has no respect for anyone and has some strange sense of entitlement. I'm with Shania on this one!

Shania finally convinces Baylee to go out and have some fun one night. That's when she sees him-a gorgeous tatted man who seems to have attracted most of the women's eyes in the bar. But the last thing Baylee needs is some man to make an even bigger mess of her life than it is already. Been there, done that.

He's a bad boy, even if he doesn't know it.
"I'm not interested."

Jack's family are bikers. Members of the Joker's Wrath to be exact. So it's in the genes that when one of them wants something, they do everything they have to to get it. Jack wants Baylee.

But Baylee's life is full of secrets. Dangerous secrets. Ones that can get someone killed. Is Jack the man who can take Baylee from the shadows into the light?

Warning-Valiant is a dark read. There's drug use and abuse and a lot of ugly things.
I'm usually a big fan of Bella Jewel's books. This one just was missing something for me. While I loved the Joker's Wrath series, I would love to see her return to writing lighter things like Wingman.

"It's going to be okay, beautiful," he murmurs, pulling me closer. "I promise you it'll be okay."
And for the first time, I believe him.
I truly believe him.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

I cannot tell you how much I love the Joker’s Wrath family. To be able to see them all again and to see their babies growing up and going their own way at the same time staying close with one another. I love that they have each other’s backs, come running whenever one of them needs the others, and how accepting and supportive they are of each other.

The book was heart wrenching the prologue grabbed me by the heart and I was thrusted into the story holding my breath. Baylee’s story of how she got where she is today hurt my heart and I so wanted to jump in the story to console her and support her. Baylee is a survivor, strong and all around amazing but in her own eyes she is weak broken and not worthy. When she meets Jack she has no idea what she stumbled upon.

Jack is the son of Mack and Jaylah. Jack is amazing and to see the way he treats Baylee is a sight. Baylee has him chasing his tail and bending over backwards to get her to notice him and go on a date. I was cracking up and loved that Baylee was giving him a run for his money. With the past Baylee had she just wasn’t ready to let her wall down and let Jack but Jack is like no other he is persistent and determined. Is Baylee far enough away that her past won’t jeopardize her safety?

I love this series being able to see the bothers of Jokers Wrath and their kids growing up forging their own path even if it’s not with the MC. I am so ready for the next book already.

A few of my favorite lines:

I can feel the intensity between us. It’s out of this world. I can barely breathe, the air is so thick.

“I think we can find some better music, so we don’t have to listen to Molly’s amazing singing the whole way,” I said lightly, playing with the radio. “Aw, come on, it isn’t that bad!” Molly says. “You ought to hear her in the shower, it’s like a can getting strangled.” Roman laughs. “I will beat you down, Roman,”

Jack. The man who didn’t give up on me when everyone else did.
Jack. The man who believed in me even when I didn’t.
Jack. The man who stood by my side and wouldn’t take no for an answer.
Jack. My own personal hero.

Baylee has moved a few states over with her so called little sister who is pregnant to get away from her abusive ex who nearly killed her. All Baylee does it work and take care of an ungrateful pregnant teen. She rarely goes out. One night she trows caution to the wind and goes out and sees a very good looking man across the bar. Her friend wants her to go talk to him, but she won't. Jake sees a beautiful woman across the bar and goes to talk to her. She shoots him down like a buck in hunting season. That makes her all the more appealing since that has never happened before. Why does she turn him down? Why does he not take no for an answer? Where is the ex? Why did he hurt her? Find out this and more in this heart breaking read!!!

1000x better than the last book. A real Hero in Jack! He stands with Bailey through everything and never thinks of another woman. He steps up as a friend and later lover and never wavers in his affection and loyalty. Loved him. She was stubborn though because of her fear of the past coming back to haunt her and all she went through. I wanted to choke the 'sister' so many times but it was so sad at the end. I felt for everyone. Can't wait to continue the series.

Baylee is running from her old life. She is taking responsibility for her ex-boyfriend's sister, Rae and struggling with her choices. The prologue was heartbreaking and tough to read. Baylee meets Jack and wants nothing to do with him. He is used to girls falling at his feet and doesn't quite know what to do when he is flat out rejected. Jack is persistent and inserts himself into Baylee's life. Baylee struggles with opening up her heart again. Rae was just plain bratty throughout this book and should have been taken to task long before Baylee finally did. Baylee holds her secrets close to the vest and doesn't really let Jack in at first. Baylee must confront her past when her scars are revealed. She decides to come clean with Jack and let's him in on her past. Jack is more than understanding and uses their new closeness to cement himself into her life. It was nice to see Jack not give up and keep moving towards his goal of having Baylee in his life, no matter what the title. Baylee had to grow a lot in this book in order to reach for her happy. There were some difficult moments to read in this book and it was definitely not a light read. Overall a good book and a great addition to this series. Wish there would have been more of the couple together and happy at the end.

Amazing.

What a beautiful story, yet heartbreaking. Bella draws you in, and keeps you there, through the whole story of Baylee, and her brutal past. Im so Glad she had Jack to not back down and keep pursuing her and not giving up on more from her. This story took a different direction than i originally thought, and am so glad it did. I love all of Bellas books, and this will be one of my all time favorites

It has been a hot minute since I've read a Bella story!. I honestly can't say why I didn't read this right away because I'm kicking myself for it now.
As per usual Bella bring us lots of drama, unexpected twists and turns. Crazy family antics, disfunctionally hilarious characters and a true emotional rollercoaster.

I was also a little confused because he wasn't in the next gen series but instead the original? I'm guessing it's because he isn't an actual member of the club but still it was confusing trying to place him in the beginning.

What I didn't expect was how soft jack isn't compared to her usual asshole alphas we love to hate. Not that I'm complaining because jack is a definite favourite and not all sweet there's a lot of naughty in that man to but he was pleasant surprise nonetheless.

I enjoyed both Jack and Baylee as characters and I really think they were perfectly suited. I know a few people mentioned their dislike of Baylee towards the end but to be honest I think she stayed absolute to her character throughout. She wasn't as in your face as some of the previous heroines however she did come out of her shell slow and steadily making it more believable. She was traumatised and a little broken but she didn't give up and in my eyes that made her a badass.
Jack is just mouth wateringly perfect. He did everything right! Makes a change to Bella's normal heros. He was nothing but gentle caring, understanding and a little cheeky in the best ways with Baylee. His calm cool but loving personality had me sighing in lust because lord he just couldn't do wrong.

The story was set at the perfect pace making it believable and enjoyable. Nothing was rushed or skipped and it wasn't so drawn out that it was filled with shit either. The story is a definite rollercoaster of emotions dragging everything out of you. I absolutely adored hearing from the O.G's of the series and their crazy kids. I love that they all have this unbreakable bond and so much love for eachother. I laughed, I melted, I got mad and I felt the pain... this book gave me all the feels.

Loved it and would definitely recommend it.

Once again, Bella Jewel manages to get us right in the feels with her writing. And I love that the whole gang is back together. This whole series has been my absolute fave and I love that all of the kids (Next Generation) are getting their own book.

We hear a little bit about Jack and Baylee in the previous book and I aint gonna lie. It really intrigued me. Their relationship was unique and I was dying to find out more. So when I heard that they were going to have their own book, I was like YESSSSSS.

Baylee's past is a dark one. One she is still running away from. She made the mistake of trusting the wrong person and it all went bad for her. Hiding away and trying to start a new life, she has no time for men. Until she meets Jack. Jack is persistent & quite possibly the hottest guy she's ever seen. But she can't have anything to do with him. Her heart is guarded and her Wall is up.

Having never been rejected by a lady, Jack is determined to get her attention. Soon, things get deeper and feelings start forming. However, Baylee's past is catching up with her & she has nowhere to run.

This story was amazing..it's emotional and angsty & so hilarious. I loved seeing the whole gang back together & it made me smile so hard hearing their playful banter.

I can't wait for the next book. Bella Jewel sure knows how to write a good book.

Valiant is the 6th book in the Joker's Wrath MC. Even though it is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

Madison aka "Baylee" is on the run from her abusive ex. As if that isn't enough to deal with, she is taking care of her ex's little sister as well as her unborn child. She is working two jobs just to make ends meet. You would think she would get a little appreciation for all she is doing, but all the girl wants to do is put down Baylee. Poor Baylee has been workin' her fingers to the bone, so her best friend begs her to go out for drinks one night, and Baylee reluctantly agrees. It is at this bar that she first meets Jack. Due to her past, the last thing she wants in her life is a man, but Jack is nothing if not determined. As time progresses, Baylee and Jack grow closer and closer. Baylee finally realizes that she is hopelessly in love with Jack. Life is great until her past finally catches up with her.

OK, Bella Jewel is one of my favorite authors. I always start one of her books knowing it will be great! Bella is just that good. I loved Jack and Baylee. I found myself desperately hoping that these two find their own version of happily ever after. If you want a book that will grab your attention and keep it right to the end of the book, this is the book for you!

Gahhhh. I love these characters and the spin offs from original series. I was left wanting more at the end of this book. As u usually do with a Bella book. So in the story that it's over before I know it.

Baylee is a sweetheart. She really had a heart of gold. This chick would go through hell and back for people she loves. Well hell she already has. But even though she's been through so much she really feels like she is undeserving of love and happiness. Which breaks my heart. If anyone deserves it she does!

Jack. Good ole Jack. I love him. When the odds are against him getting the girl he does what's best and just becomes her friend. He's there for Baylee when she really had no one other than herself. He made her see what life was about. He made her feel loved and beautiful. Such a good man! And he's so funny!

Although Jack and Baylee get along great and things are going smooth life always has a way of fucking things up. Especially the past. And when it comes in its insane. This left me on the edge of my seat!

This was a great read. The characters and their chemistry is amazing and I couldn't ask for more.

WooHoo what a ride.
Valiant: Joker's Wrath MC by Bella Jewel is the sixt installment in this series.
This book can be read as standalone.

Valiant is not the typical MC read, it is so much more.
It´s about hurt, pain, loss, addiction and desperation, but also about hope, faith and love.

Baylee had to endure unspeakable pain from an very violent ex and is on the run.
She has a pretty big package to shoulder.
Then she meets Jack- his family is the Joker´s Wrath MC.
Jack helps her to find her self esteem and to heal.
He knows she is his one. He loves her so much.
But her past rears his ugly head and Baylee is in mortal danger.

Favorite Quote: " Life isn´t always meant to be easy. It´s the hard times that shape our character the most, I think. "

I liked the other books in this series and I also love this sixt book. Bella Jewel is a wonderful author, I love her characters and I love her words.
5 Stars and Thank you Bella Jewel !!

This MC read was quite different than the other installments in the Joker's Wrath series. I've come to love the bikers and their sassy partners in this series. This is the story of Jack and Maddie aka Baylee. He's sweet, hot and sexy, and not a member of the club. She's a troubled woman trying to let go of her terrible abusive past. But as always the past catches up to you.
Theirs was an insta attraction to friends to lovers story. Just as they're getting close,
their romance took a tumble when he discovered she had more secrets.
Even though I enjoyed this book, I missed the hard, edgy and dirty biker alpha males I came to love in the Joker's Wrath MC. While Jack was a lovable character and he really was a hero, I felt his character was not as developed as I would have liked. Baylee, was noble to a fault and she came off as weak and wishy washy.
