A husband and wife decide to move away from the California big city life that is all they have ever known and raise their son in a very rural area of Idaho. They find it is a big change and find themselves changing their whole outlook and the beliefs that they have had all their lives. Their son and the parents both have a lot to learn. When the nation's economy starts to fail they both agree the changes they made were a good ones. As always in my stories there is no foul language or explicit sex though there is some violence. My stories are only meant to provide an afternoon or evening of reading enjoyment. I now employ a professional editor to hopefully catch the errors in my writing.
I so enjoy your books. Though the subject matter is not cheery you manage to not to make it too grim. Your characters are almost good people. I like that you manage to make a nice little read and pepper it with some survival techniques.
The author makes it clear at the beginning that there'll be no cussing or violence in his books. The story line is good, but the action is very bland. It wasn't until the last few pages of the book that this teenage boy even shows an interest in a girl. That is not very realistic, is it? Otherwise, it is a good read. The action doesn't bog down and the story moves along nicely.
If you read Pete Thorsen, or are new to his work you'll see no sex, no vulgarity or crudeness in his books. They are a refreshing break from so many popular authors that fill their books with the stuff, Blinding you from what the story is! There is always something new to learn in one of Mr. thorsens stories and I enjoy each one.
