A terrorists wife and child are killed by a CIA covert team. It was a tragic mistake. He has sworn revenge. He's a double agent and has been feeding Intel to Austria's clandestine services. This is an extremely fast paced action thriller. I highly recommend!
Ethan has excelled himself with another Justin and Carrie caper from their Austrian Base. I found it a gripping story from start to finish and warmly recommend it followers of these two Canadian CIS agents.
Justin and Carrie are back and they're taking Europe by storm. A mile-a-minute thriller, this book will keep you guessing with every page you turn. Everyone has a hidden agenda and no one is quite who they seem to be. The plots and counter-plots kept me deeply engrossed to see what would happen next. Even though they're assigned to the European division now Justin can't resist playing in his old sandbox, so don't worry, he's still up to his same old tricks. I'm already looking forward to seeing what the next mission has in store for them. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book.
This is another fast paced, action packed suspenseful thriller with very strong and intriguing characters that you can't help but love and try to help them along the way. (Wishful thinking since I felt vested in these characters and the book)
The storyline is very believable and gets us acquainted with many intelligence and anti-terrorism agencies that either help or hinder Justin and Carrie in completing their mission through many different countries.
Highly recommend this book. This is my 5th Ethan Jones book and plan to read the previous ones along with the ones to come.
Looking forward to the next adventure with Justin Hall and Carrie O'Connor Justin Hall book
The Austrian Asset is the tenth book in the Justin Hall series. This can be read as a standalone. But since each book builds on the previous storylines, I recommend that you read them in order. There is violence.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat all of that info here. This is a well crafted thriller. The author did a good job of keeping a steady pace throughout the book to keep this reader interested. It kept me guessing what twists and turns would be revealed in the pages ahead. As usual, nothing is quite as it seems on the surface. I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down.
The author has a long and successful string of Ethan Hall books under his belt. He is the front man for the Canadian anti-terrorist effort worldwide. The author manages to written similar books and keep them interesting. This particular work has no slow sections. It is varied action over and over.
Now that Ethan's love interest is a member of the team, it will be interesting to see how she integrates into the upcoming books. The author continues to improve his craft. I hope he tries his hand writing in a different genre where he can let his imagination soar. Try this guy - you may find a good author to follow.
Another good action book from Ethan Jones. I really enjoy this author and his Justin Hall character. I like how he builds up threw the series of books all his characters and his description of events, this all helps us the reader to gain an insight to each character and how and why they react as they do. The subplots are interesting as they draw the reader into the next book and before we know it we gain a need to carry on reading. Ethan Jones has really developed his style of writing and l enjoy and want to continue to read his books
Another good Ethan Jones book. Justin and Carrie are at their best, and Justin's emotional turmoil made it that much more interesting. Their base of operations has changed to Austria, but they still go back to their old grounds, and it seems as if they are all over, and everywhere! This book is a notch above the earlier Justin Hall stories as there are more countries involved, all with their own agendas, secrets, and double crosses. i highly recommend this book.....in fact the whole series!!
I love the fast pace that all of his spy thrillers have. I liked how all the agencies involved work together to bring the terrorists down even though the don't trust each other completely. I also really like Justin and Carrie relationship as equals in the spy game but with their own strengths. This is a series that will keep you enthralled for a long time.
Another good story from author, Ethan Jones. Justin and Carrie are on the trail of a terrorist leader who is out for some personal revenge, and one of their team is a rather mysterious Russian agent. There is a lot of action, and the plot is convoluted enough for any fan of thrillers!
An exciting story from the very beginning! Following Justin Hall and Carrie O'Connor could be very hazardous duty as they crisscross through European countries and the muddle east!
Espionage and politics, clandestine meetings and colleagues who aren't quite honest. Enjoyed this book, although it seemed to end a bit abruptly. I hope to find out what happened to al-Nuaimi in a future episode ...
Each Justin Hall spy thriller features excellent stories, great characters and wonderful action set pieces. Ethan Jones delivers again and again with each book. The Austrian Asset ticks all the boxes for the quality I’ve come to expect from this author. I enjoyed this particular story over some of the others in the series and that’s quite the recommendation when considering just how much I’ve enjoyed the entire series. Justin is now operating in Europe trying to find a terrorist mastermind before he can act. This being a Justin Hall book he’s not confined to one part of the world though as he travels with his team desperately trying to get a step ahead. This is a real roller-coaster of a thriller with Justin and co taking a step forward and sometimes two back. It’s written with skill and talent that keeps the pace high throughout, never giving Justin or the reader a moment to pause. I can’t praise this highly enough, brilliant, simply brilliant.
These Justin hall books are all pretty much the same , but a guilty pleasure. But a few things are starting to make me go hmmm. His girlfriend is now an agent , hmmm, why? This can’t end well, plus it is so unlikely unless she’s a Double agent or something I’’d like to see Justin and Carrie together hard stop. . And the fact that he Gets shot in the arm every book, and his arms aren’t like chicken gristle yet is kind of amusing. And I feel really bad for the 5 year old whose family is gone and he’s being used like a pawn… but overall an entertaining series , I’ll Stick with

It was so nice to read about Justin and Carrie with a little bit of personal information. I got to view another part of the world and learn some more about the cultures. Having them finding the little surprise and taking care of him was very heartwarming. I'm still holding out hope for Justin and Carrie though! Yes, maybe they had a thing in their past however, it just feels like they were meant to be. Keeping fingers crossed! Onto the next adventure I go and see what I can learn and to cheer on the good ones!
Super duo Justin Hall and Carrie O'Connor, Canadian government spies par excellence, have another mission impossible from the creative genius, author Ethan Jones, as they re-enter the world of international espionage in exfiltrating the eponymous asset from Vienna. Opposition will be overcome and escape that seems impossible for anyone else, sees them move on to the Middle East on a wild adventure that will keep you up all night!
Justin and his partner Carrie have been transferred to the Austrian office and are trying to get settled in when they are assigned to work with a member of a Russian organization to find and capture a member of a terrorist group who was thought to be an asset to them, but they were wrong. Barely achieving their mission without getting killed, they are once again successful after several fire fights. Justin then receives a new assignment; to train a new recruit...his girlfriend Karolina...
Where is the hook to interest one? Maybe you just have to like shoot em ups. This book wasn’t worth pursuing after 25% of being into it. Not my cup of entertainment. Put it down.
