From International Bestselling Author Katie Graykowski comes a love story about fate, fame, and football.
Coco Robbins has spent the last fifteen years falling out of love with Seth Charming. What started out as a schoolgirl crush, grew into a full-fledged fantasy. Too bad, he had no idea she even existed. Now as an orthopedic surgeon who’s spent the last four years working with Doctors Without Borders, she ran halfway around the world to get away from Seth only to find herself right back where she started.
Seth Charming is the quarterback of the Super Bowl winning Texas Lone Stars. He has the world at his feet, several women at his side, and all the fame and fortune he could ever want. Only something’s missing. He wants a family. Unfortunately, he has yet to meet the right woman.
When Coco Robbins strolls back into Seth’s life, he knows immediately that she’s the one he’s been waiting for … only now he has to convince her that she’s in love with him.
Fans of Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Rachel Gibson won’t want to miss this story full of laughter, love, and football.
I really wanted to like it coz it's such a popular book. However, the story falls flat. The H/h are supposed to be 36 and 30 yrs old but they don't act and talk like it. The entire thing was so immature. If they were only younger say 23-27 yrs old, I could understand but they weren't! Seriously, I tried to like it but I really don't
felt like an excuse to parade all old characters through so we could meet their 1.2 children, endure sass, unsolicited advice, and get the 'see they are really living happily ever after'
This is my first time "reading" this author's work--- I listened to the audiobook, so reading is a bit of a stretch but it's a book so it counts! Enjoyed the storyline, especially the heroines backstory and her time as a doctor without borders. I am not sure if she actually overcame her issues with that (the author introduced that as a bit of an internal conflict), but I guess it isn't something you really overcome- it is something that will stay with you always. The male lead was charming, and I liked his interactions and his relationship with the heroine. My only critique would be that I didn't really see a conflict in the relationship. It was kind of just assured they will get together in the end, in fact when the heroine is choosing between the two men I couldn't really understand why she was hesitant to pick the male lead (Seth) over Giovanni. Overall an enjoyable read, and I think I might start back at the beginning of this series- though you could read this as a stand alone novel for sure.
Coco had always been in love with Seth but he broke her heart before she left for college. Years later Coco has become a doctor and worked in some of the world's deadliest countries. She's come back home for good and is getting her things from the airport carousel when she hears someone call her name. Seth hasn't been able to forget Coco no matter who he was with or what he was doing. When he gets word that Coco is coming home he gets to the airport to surprise her. Coco is so not ready to see Seth after years of trying to fall out of love with him. She tries to push her feelings for him away but they begin to resurface. To make matters worse Coco is seeing someone and has made plans with him about the future. As the days go by Seth realizes he doesn't want another woman in his life besides Coco. He tries everything he can to get her to realize he's the man for her. Will Coco deny her feelings for Seth after she learns of his feelings for her? Has Seth lost his chance with Coco?
This was a fun, easy to listen to story (I did the audio version). There may not have been a whole lot of substantial conflict in it, except for the tension between Seth and Giovani, but I think the story was meant to be lighthearted and certainly not deep and serious. If that's what you're looking for, look somewhere else instead of reading this. Coco comes back from working as a doctor for Doctors Without Borders to discover that her old flame, who rejected her years ago, is going to be right up in her face. Awkward! Seth cares deeply for her and must try to convince her that she's in love with him and not the guy named Giovani (Seth calls him the Italian Jesus) who's already proposed to her. The narration by Pam Dougherty was superb! I love the smoothness of her voice and the humor and perfect timing of the lines. This was a very enjoyable experience all the way around!
This story was so good! I loved how Coco comes back home after running away from a bad experience with young love and finds that you can go home, but can you deal with your family? Seth was 'it' for Coco, but when she finally builds up her courage, he treats her like a little sister. Humiliated, she moves on and tries to erase the whole thing. This story is sweet, combined with even parts, sexy, sassy, and funny. There are such hilarious moments interspersed throughout the story and I found myself laughing out loud during them. Coco's family is terrific and add so much to the story. Really enjoyed how Coco's family is there for her, even when she doesn't want them to be! Great story and the narrator is a good choice.
An amazing story about friendship, love and adventure. Coco is finally returning home after resigning from Doctor's Without Borders and many years of service throughout many different countries. The first person she encounters at the airport is Seth her long lost love from her childhood days. Now she is struggling with not only adjustment to be back with family, being back in the States, but also now having two men vying for her favor.
Coco has been in love crushy on Seth forever. When she turns 18 she kisses him and he doesn’t reciprocate. She runs far for her residency and works with Doctors Without Borders in Sudan. Seth is an NFL receiver for the team her Father coaches. 12 years later, she is back home. Seth has always cared for Coco but she was too young for him. Now he has competition with her friend, the spinal surgeon, who was also in Sudan. Nicely written and has laugh out loud snarky . Fun and enjoyable read!!
This can't be the last book, please more. Any ways Coco had lived Seth since she was sixteen years old. But he thought of her as a little sister. When she turned eighteen she was rebuffed by him. So she left for college and didn't come back for twelve years. Now back from working for Doctors without borders she is ready to start a life with a man she can trust. Will it be Seth or Giovanni? One is the true prince in her life.
This is the last book, or book 5, of the Lone Star series, beautifully written by Katie Graykowski. I loved the love between Seth and Coco, they were just meant to be a couple. I've read the whole series and I absolutely love the women for how feisty they all were. The men were all portrayed as strong, loving men. This book just put the perfect HEA within the whole series. Now I must read more books written by this awesome author.
Okay so I read this series as a whole and must say it reminds me of KA series rock chicks and I must say it was amazing!! Loved the characters and the lone star boys too each have an amazing couple with loads of laughs and lol hilarious women!!! Definitely a must read I devoured it!!! Wish there was more !!!!
Just finished this series. I loved all the relationships. The strength, the love, the friendships, the communications and the antics. I wish I'd had that throughout my life. I can't wait to read more from Ms. Graykowski. I definitely recommend each book of this series.
Like this series and liked but didn’t love this book. Coco seemed quite strong and with it but Seth was a total disappointment and they both felt like teenagers at times. He was 36 and seemed immature. That said okay read and hope Giovanni gets his romance. Good catching up with others in previous stories.
Cute story with no tension, suspense or drama. The potential was there. Three possibly interesting characters, but within a short time All roles were quickly defined and played out. Just could not get excited.
Another fun read! I have enjoyed this series, so far. If you are are looking for a fun light read, Katie is your author. I have pre ordered most of her books because I know I will always be entertained!
I just love her writing style. Fun of snarky fun. This one was a miss for me though. I really didn't like Seth. Seriously he's supposed to be 36?? He acted like he was 14.
I want to belong to this group of women! They are there for each other and love to feed people, what more can you ask for! I absolutely loved this series and can't wait for the next book in the series. This is truly a must read series!
Love, love, love!! ❤ Wow, and I do mean wow! This novel was excellent and thorough without becoming explicit! I love romantic novels and this one had a wonderful storyline to keep me entertained! Fabulous!
I really wanted to like this book but unfortunately it's a DNF :( You basically get the whole book in one chapter: she's loved him for ages and he FINALLY looks at her so she dumps a guy who's handsome, charming and in love with her but just IS NOT the H who by the way is not very likable...
I liked this one. I was actually very curious to know more about Coco and her happily ever after. Seth was a very sweet guy and it pissed me off when she kept bringing up his past, like I understand where she's coming from but still hw never gave her any reason to doubt him
This is the first book in this series I have read so I need to go back and read the rest. Seth and Coco were so great. She has loved him forever but he doesn't realize that he loves her as well.
