This is my first book that i've read from 나태주. The blue cover is the first edition and then continued by white cover. I read the blue cover, in korean language. Also, i think i've seen this book in some movie scenes, made it quite popular. There are 3 chapter of poetry, 183 pages in total. Also it has beautiful illustration of nature and people on some pages. The words on poetry are so beautiful and mostly represent by flowers. Some poetry are about relationship, one's self and life.
One of my favorite poem is: 풀꽃 . 3 기죽지 말고 살아봐 꽃 피워봐 참 좋아
Which i translated for my self as: "Dont be discouraged and live your life. Bloom. That's nice."
I think if you understand korean well, you can get a better understanding of the meaning of this poetry, which could be different if translated. Overall, i enjoyed this book.
Obviously I am limited by my own language capabilities, and reading a more advanced poetry collection probably would’ve been a catastrophe, but I can’t help but wish there was a little more depth in these poems. I think it is incredibly difficult to write a poem that has equal parts brevity and impact and sadly Na Tae-ju falls slightly short of achieving that.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book even tho I haven't mastered the language yet. The pieces resonated a lot with me and it also added a lot to my vocabulary. This book holds a special place in my heart as not only was it given as a gift, it is also my first Korean book. Someday I will reread this book without the help of papago.
Finally finished reading this, a translated Mandarin version of short collection of love poetry. Picked this book up just because I wanted to progress in the Mandarin language. Enjoyed learning the poetry words.
