Take charge of your thoughts and reshape your life through meditation Feeling trapped by unwanted thoughts and emotions can seem an inevitable part of life. But Easwaran, who taught meditation for nearly forty years, shows a way to break free. Just as a fitness routine can create a strong, supple body, spiritual disciplines can shape a secure personality and a resilient, loving mind. Writing as an experienced, friendly coach, Easwaran explains how we can train the mind not just during meditation but throughout the day. Working with difficult colleagues, choosing what to eat, and listening to a child's needs are all opportunities to try out different, wiser responses. To shed light on the thinking process, Easwaran takes the timeless teachings of the Buddha and other mystics and illustrates them with scenes from contemporary life. He offers practical exercises for taking charge of our thoughts, along with instruction in his own method of passage meditation. Easwaran shows how training the mind is a glorious challenge - one that brings joy and purpose to life.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was validating for me on what I’ve experienced. The author and I share similar themes throughout our experiences as well. This book has left me hungry for more!
I finished reading the book in 24 hours. The author introduces us to the various aspects of past life regression. She uses her own experiences to talk about how our past lives interconnected to our present life. She emphasizes that time is not a linear concept because soul is omnipresent and it is simultaneously there is past, present and future. She touches upon the concept of Karma and believes that any action taken from pure love is a good karma. She also advises that we should always listen to our gut feeling as it is how our soul guides us. We all have psychic abilities and this book can take you a step ahead in tapping your psychic energies. The sentence that stood apart from the book is " the human body doesn't contain the soul, the soul contains the body. Your soul is both inside and outside of you all times'. The book talks a lot about the author's personal experiences and honestly some of them are not based on any evidence but pure assumptions. The explanations seem forced and not always quite believable. Any incident can be interpreted in numerous ways and most of her interpretations seemed bit stretched. The book could have streamlined a bit of the personal experiences.
Ok, mais sans plus. Je suis quelqu’un de très ouverte d’esprit de nature, mais j’ai eu quelques difficultés sur certains points. Je crois que c’est simplement une vision personnelle. C’est un livre que tu aimes ou n’aimes pas !
Loved the book which explores past lives with tried and tested exercises for past life recall. A fascinating subject especially if you have already experienced flashbacks etc. Having already gone through this from loss of memory for 12 years, worked wonders for me.
