From the Blackfeet warrior Running Eagle to the stereotype-smashing librarian Alma Jacobs, the eleven women portrayed in this engaging book were indeed boldbreaking down barriers of sexism, racism, and political opposition to emerge as heroines of their time. The third in this Mountain Press's state-by-state series for teen readers, Bold Women in Montana History reveals the feminine side of the Tresure State's storied past.
I picked up this book at Polebridge Mercantile in Montana while on a roadtrip with my family. I love getting books from local authors while on trips, and this book immediately caught my eye.
It was put together very nicely and was very well written and researched. I loved that the women featured in it came from a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities, and had so many different jobs. This book definitely taught me a lot about some important women in Montana history and I am so glad I picked it up.
I highly recommend reading this book if you are interested in learning more about strong women in history. It is a great read for readers young and old!
