Even though Jesus provided a way for this to be reality, this new life has escaped many because we haven't known how to enter into it. A clear, refreshing look at Christ’s true promise of rest

Most Christian books talk about “rest” in vague or motivational terms, but Ed Kurath digs right into the heart of Jesus’ words, “I will give you rest.” He shows from Scripture and careful word studies that this isn’t about working harder to be religious—it’s about stepping into a real, ongoing transformation that only Christ can provide.

What I especially appreciate is how Kurath strips away centuries of traditions and mistranslations, going back to the original Greek. That’s rare, and it highlights just how much institutional religion has complicated what was meant to be simple. His distinction between false, man-made religion and the supernatural rest Jesus actually promised is both liberating and timely.

As someone who has spent years researching how church systems distort the gospel, I found Kurath’s approach aligned with my own discoveries. It reminded me of why I wrote The Devil in the Holy City—to uncover those very deceptions and help readers return to Christ’s truth without the chains of ritual.

If you’ve ever been worn down by legalism, false guilt, or endless striving, this book is like a deep breath of fresh air. It’s practical, biblical, and deeply freeing. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to rediscover the true gospel of peace and transformation.
