Since the release of her 2004 debut novel A Gangster’s Girl, Essence Magazine best selling author Chunichi Knott has gone on to pen three additional best selling novels, Married To The Game, The Naked Truth and Return of A Gangster’s Girl.
With more than a half of a million books in print and on the heels of her fifth novel, California Connection, Chunichi’s talent as a writer, combined with her consistent and successful track record speaks for itself.
In addition to her hard work and relentless drive, Chunichi’s rise to the top of the literary world can easily be attributed to the fact that she has lived through the same fast lifestyle of sex, money, drugs, cars, and designer clothes, that she writes about in her books.
The former quiet southern girl from Alabama had her life transformed when she moved to Virginia Beach in her late teens. Dubbed the Urban Diva of literature because of her striking beauty, Chunichi’s stunning looks and Scorpio sex appeal was evident since her teenage years. And she instantly became a magnet for attracting ballers who elevated her social status while introducing her to an intoxicating high-end lifestyle.
That lifestyle transformed the sexy seductress into a gun toting Bonnie who was trained to fire. Chunichi’s fast paced lifestyle soon began to mimic that of a vixen and it included stints as a highly sought after local celebrity as well as her being the spoiled female darling of several NBA and NFL athletes.
Consequently as Chunichi matured, she decided to make a change in the way she was living. Never forgetting her past but making sure to leave the fast life behind, Chunichi went on to pursue and attain her degree in Nursing, while simultaneously putting her real life experiences on paper.
Now a reserved, mysterious beauty, the Urban Diva moves like anthrax, killing the literary scene with books that are sure to keep her on top of the major best seller’s list for years to come.

This was...A LOT. I have no idea how I actually feel about it, because there were so many characters and so much was going on. But the narrator was lovely.

What a roller coaster. It ain’t nothing like some old school urban fiction to really scratch that itch. Ceazia, the good girl finding her way without daddy’s money and Vegas coming in to sweep her off her feet.

Lies, deceit, hurt, betrayal, and most of all death. It’s a dirty game playing with folks feelings.. I guess sometimes you FAFO

I don't know why I Picked this book ..
Maybe it was just something new & I love these type of books , even tho they are basically all the same , with different characters surroundings and what not , I just can't get enough though .
Where as ceazia she has a good life but Vegas made it even better .. Even tho the end he ended up betraying her .
This book jumped around a lot .. That's one of the negatives of it ... So much happened in it to where you just completely forget certain stuff .
Vegas get locked up at one point and C ends up taking over his empire .. Risking her own life & freedom ..
Why ? I don't know .
Vegas gets locked up multiple times ...
And towards the end C ends up convincing him to get out of the game and they end up opening business to supply their money that way ..
The last time Vegas got locked up was because his distributed drugs to an undercover ... He got 2 years ..
Even under the carpet he was still doing C wrong .., he ended up burning her with an disease .., & she thought it was this rasta man she was messing with ...
It was all wrong. Vegas was fucking one of the gaurds In the prison & got caught up ...
Vegas ended up having the rasta man killed and everything pointed back to C .. She ended up getting locked up for involvement with that && that's When I was hot & heated by the situation .. Like , the most messed up thing about it all is she actually didn't know anything about what happened ...
Mikie came back in the picture (a jealous individual that envys C)
And c finds out about vegas infidelity ways && realizes there's no way around it & kills him .. Mickie .. && the other broad that he was having a 3 some with ..
Usually these type of books are good to me .. But this one had to many characters in and out ..
But I do plan on reading some more of her books She is a wonderful artist !

This book grabbed me from the first page and it was hard to put down. This book is not your typical hood story. It’s about love , friendship , betrayal and what the drug game does to the ones you love. If you want an entertain read this is the book for you.

Not sure...

I read this book year's cargo and LOVED it, now it seems dry, stale and rushed. Maybe my taste in hood books have changed, but this wasn't half as good as I remembered.

I was a virgin to Chunichi, she busted my damn cherry. I just finished A Gangster’s Girl which is the first book in Chunichi’s Gangster’s Girl Book Series. This book is about a good girl who wants to live her life the way she wants too. Since she decided to go against the grain and not do what her father wanted she got cut off from the stipends she use to receive and had to make money to survive.
I enjoyed A Gangster’s Girl. I listened to the audio book. It kept my attention. I would get home or wherever I would go and I wouldn’t get out the car until the end of the current chapter. If you are looking for a quick read that you will not want to put down this is it. Get A Gangster’s Girl.

This book was so chaotic, I just kept shaking my head as the drama unfolded. Lol. I felt like Vegas and Ceazia started out strong but it was never a romantic kind of feel to their story. Ceazia kept finding herself in positions to lose and she never was able to get ahead like she wanted to. Overall, it was a fast paced story that kept me entertained but it was a lot of things happening all at once.

I would’ve rated this 5 stars if 1) there weren’t so many unanswered questions/storylines but this was a damn good read. C lived a crazy life and I honestly felt so bad for her towards the end because she didn’t deserve half of what happened to her. But Vegas was her downfall. Can’t wait for book 2!

This book was hard to put down. C had been through a lot, things she brought on herself. However she was pretty strong, it's crazy how things ended but now what? Did she go back to prison or was she dreaming?

I really enjoyed this book and the writing style of Chunichi. It feels exactly as intended. As though the people are telling you their stories first hand in a realistic way. She is also very good at keeping it unpredictable. Good book.

The story was seriously all over the place. It didn’t become consistent until right before she went to jail. There were too many back stories on every character and too many unnecessary characters. I finished it nonetheless. I’m salty she killed him at the end I wanted him to suffer lol

This was a wild ride lol. The narrator was fantastic! SO MUCH HAPPENED I’m kinda speechless lol. I like the pace of this book and i definitely liked Ceazia. Her and Vegas were so good together, so the ending was disappointing.

Loved it.

I feel like they could of been epic if he lived and wasn’t cheating all the time. She really did love him. Meikell was jealous of Ceazia from the start.
