A native New Yorker, Chris Keniston was on her way to Australia when she fell in love with North Texas. Little did she know the balmy seventy-degree October days would turn into fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk heat in August!

Twenty years later, she started scribbling short stories about her favorite TV shows, giving them lives more to her liking - and the elusive happy ending. Not long after, a dear friend dragged her to a local writers’ meeting. After winning multiple writing contests and making the finals in the Romance Writers of America’s prestigious Golden Heart contest, she now spends her days, and nights, writing contemporary romantic fiction with lots of emotion, plenty of surprises, and, of course, the happily ever after.

Chris lives in suburban Dallas with her husband, two human children, and two canine children. Though she loves her puppies equally, she admits being especially attached to her German Shepherd rescue named Gunny. After all, even dogs deserve a happily ever after.

ARC Review: Finn (Farraday County) by Chris Keniston

Ms. Keniston paints a beautiful portrait of family, love and faith in a small town with heart and a bit of ethereal mystery on the side. A four legged friend returns to lay the groundwork for a second chance for Finn and Joanna. Joanna is a city girl with a touch of country in her heart. Finn is country through and through. The land, his family and hard work are deeply ingrained in his soul. Can these opposites learn the value of compromise before all is loss? The most endearing quality about Finn and Ms. Keniston is she allows the reader to draw their own conclusions. Whether it be a mysterious dog, who's there to lend a helping hand. A proud man scared to open himself up to hurt again. Or lastly a reunited couple seeking a second chance. Her stories send the message of hope in good times and bad. We all need that. Ms. Keniston delivers an abundance of heart along with big personality.

This one was cute but I found I was more interested in the Joanna search in finding more info on Three Corners than the romance between her and Finn. That was a bit bland for me. With the info that Joanna found on Three Corners I wanted to know more about what the community thought, especially those that family was involved.

I devoured this book and every one before it. A wonderful series. Finn is book 6..

Finn Farraday is an easy going guy. Ranching is his life and he loves it. But thinks maybe something is missing..Then the women he hasn't seen in years pops back in his life. Joanna Gaines. Now here to do an article on West Texas.
The things she unravels becomes so interesting, and somehow makes her and Finn closer. The town helps her out and she loves it. Yet she's a city girl.

See what happens..

Highly recommend this book and the series.

I love the Farraday Country books so much. This one was no exception.

It was obvious from an early age that the Farraday ranch was going to be more of a life commitment for Finn than any of his 5 older brothers. Ranching was always in his blood. He didn't have much need for a permanent female in his life since ranching and family took up so much of his time. When a mysterious gray haired dog once again pops up leading Finn to an old friend he is both excited to see her and worried about the history this dog has played in all of his brother's meeting their wives/fiancés, and the implication it could have on his life now.

Joanna has arrived in Tucker's Bluff excited for her newest research project and especially to see one of her best friends from college. She doesn't expect a rattle snake to play into their reunion. Six years separation feels like 6 days when the two come back together. And Joanna will have to call upon Finn's history of coming to her rescue when unwanted suitors can't take a hint.

This is a lovely 'from-friends-to-lovers' story. The build up of Joanna and Finn reuniting is wonderful, the plot and mystery that keeps them working together is fun and entertaining and I love the added amusement of the mysterious matchmaking dog.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was 1) the relationship between Joanna and her photographer could have used a little more angst and 2) the last chapter (the epilog is just a lead in to the next and last book) ended too abruptly for me. It felt like another paragraph of Finn and Joanna professing their feelings for one another was needed.

Faraday Country is one of those series in which each book I read is the BEST BOOK!!! in Finn, I loved the gentle growth of friendship to love and their comfort with each other that allowed it to feel right. It is obvious the seeds of love were already there and that the time apart made it easier for them to see it. It was a long time before I saw where the ghost town investigation was going and I was in tears of laughter when I realized what the clues were adding up to. Finn and Joanne fit together beautifully and she fits in with the family wonderfully.

Finn's propensity for rescuing young maidens probably increased his friendship with Joanne, a housemate from college years. After all, she forges ahead without thinking and finds herself in need of a gentle way out of situations on a regular basis. The fake boyfriend/fiance trick they pulled on guys who got too friendly in college has increased their comfort level until onlookers question whether or not the relationship is for real. Her newest assignment, to write about a ghost town, is the perfect excuse to visit her old college buddy. She isn't quit prepared for all that she encounters though.

I requested and received an ARC of this book from the author. The review is completely voluntary. I always review books that I love.

Finn: Farraday Country Book 6 is by Chris Keniston. It is the sixth book in the Farraday series. The six Farraday boys were named in order of the alphabet like the boys in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers which had been their Mother’s favorite movie. Adam, Brooks, Connor, Declan, and Ethan had all found the woman of their dreams and were either married or engaged. That left only Finn as the unmarried brother. Finn ran the Farraday Ranch and was relatively happy. Someday, he might find his woman too.
Joanna Gaines (not of TV fame) drove unannounced towards the Farraday Ranch. She stopped to take a picture and was treed by a rattlesnake. The illusive grey dog, who showed up only to those Farraday family members who were to fall in love, led Finn to her rescue. Finn and Joanna had been housemates in college and used each other to fend off unwanted admirers. Now after all these years, she had come to see him and to visit nearby ghost towns for an article she was going to read.
The book is wonderful. It catches the imagination from the start and you delve into the story. Just hang on for a fast ride.

Finn is the Farraday brother who has always known he was going to work on the ranch. He loves the land, the animals and the work. He went to college and then ca
me home knowing the ranch was calling. City Girl Joanna Gaines was one of his roommates in college. She is roaming in Texas looking for information on ghost towns when she stops to take a picture… only there is a rattlesnake and she is up a tree literally. Finn saves her and helps her visit and find ghost towns as do the local residents.

This is a wonderful addition to the Farraday Country series by Chris Keniston. I have enjoyed all the books in series of books about the Farraday Family. While the books are all hot and heavy in same ways, they are true love stories. The series about the Farraday’s brothers are hot and fun reads.

I am a fan of Chris Keniston, and I've loved her various series. These Farraday siblings stories are no exception. I've read them all! Finn's story is really just like Finn. He moves at a slower, steadier pace than his older brothers, and the story mirrors that. I liked steady Finn and the more outgoing, excitable Joanna.

I'm looking forward to the last in this series, the only girl and last child, Grace's story.

Investing a ghost town, JoJo opens up a whole other world and takes us along for the interesting and sometimes wild ride! Does the dog visit? You betcha! Smirk, grin and right out laugh worthy!!
Sentences that had me laughing out loud....'Two women scurried forward. One tall and thin, the other not so much."....Giggle, think I am the not so much!!

Dogs and rattlesnakes. And a history of a ghost town that I found I would have liked to learn more about. Otherwise a cute story and the Farraday family.

Geez what a waste of reading. I couldn’t get into the storyline. Just too boring for me. I’m wondering if the books will start to go downhill.

As I read each book in this series I think that it's my favorite book. Until Chris Keniston releases the next one!! Oh my gravy train this was a good book!

Anytime an author brings a dog into a book and the dog brings two people together, it's a win win for me!! This was quite an enjoyable book! I look forward to reading more of Chris Keniston's stories!!

Who is she

Who was this lady who called Flex her husband. Even though it was a long time joke as a roommate it got Eileen wondering. Where was the dog?

Maybe because there weren’t any children in this story, it didn’t grab me as much as the past three stories did. Still enjoyed it.

Finn Farraday
Joanna Gaines

Finn and Joanna had been roommates in college. They both played the others boyfriend or girlfriend when needed. Joanna comes to Tucker’s Bluff on an assignment for a travel magazine. Finn finds her when she is up in a tree keeping away from a rattlesnake. This book is a good, fun, fast read as Joanna tries to figure out what caused the town of Three Corners to turn into a ghost town and Finn and Joanna build a relationship. I would read more in the series.

***4.5 Stars***
I have been anxiously awaiting Finn's story. What we've learned about Finn so far is that he's a rancher down to the marrow of his bones. He never plans to leave the Farraday Ranch and will one day be the sole ranch operator when his father retires. He's been there since graduating college about six years ago. He also loves his baby niece, Ethan's daughter Brittany, and has had a way with her since the day she moved into the Farraday home. He's the quiet brother who struggles with not having memories of his mother. A loner by choice and because of his ranching obligations he doesn't get out much and although he is certainly not a virgin, he is not your typical man-whore either. I greatly respected him for that.

Joanna was Finn's best friend in college. She nicknamed him 'hubby' because when guys got too friendly, handsy and wouldn't take no for an answer she would claim she and Finn were in a relationship and he would play along. In some instances she pretended they were getting married or already wed. They always had an easy friendship which never went beyond those boundaries because they shared a house with two others in college and Finn was too much a gentleman to hit on her.

When Joanne stops by for a visit while researching ghost towns they quickly fall back into their easy friendship and begin to realize there's more to them than being platonic buddies.

What a great story! This is an angst-free read without triggers and I was able to have a relaxing afternoon as I enjoyed this hero and heroine and their story. They were mature, funny, sweet and so fond of the other. It was everything I had hoped for.

I highly recommend this book as well as the series that is based on 'Seven Brides for Seven Brothers movie.' Thanks for another great Kris Keniston read!

Book 6 in Farraday Country series and this was one book I could not put down and did not want to ! Finn Farraday comes to the rescue of Joanna Gaines a woman he has not seen in six years they where best friends and room-mates with others as they went through college. Joanna has come to write a story about the country where Finn is ranching, but she seems to draw rattlesnakes to her. When Finn first sees her again the dog everyone sees before they meet the women meant to be theirs came to him and lead him to a tree where Joanna was to get away from the snake she had almost stepped on. I could not help but laugh at some of the things these two do. I was gifted a copy but liked the book so much that I bought it. I can hardly wait for the next book.

Finn Farraday was born to take over the ranch. He loves the work & is dedicated to the early to bed, early to rise mentality. Until his brothers started to pair up, he didn't realize how his social life has suffered.

Joanna Gaines is a city girl with an appreciation of country. She is researching an article on ghost towns in Texas & decides to drop in on an old college buddy. She just didn't mean to get cornered by a rattlesnake & need rescued.

Chris Keniston has done it again! Finn is new favorite of the Farraday books. I love the fact that they were college friends/roommates that had each other's backs so well. Finn is a tall, silent sexy rancher while Joanna seems like a chatterbox, city girl. It doesn't seem like they'd even be friends but once you start reading the interactions between them, you can sense that's exactly what they were at that time of their lives. I loved the fact that each book seems like a continuation of the previous book so that you get an update on everyone's lives along with the new story. Each book can be read as a stand alone but believe me, you'll end up reading them all.
