5☆ Emotional Rollercoaster... Loved it

Perfect read for lovers of all books! Especially as they feature a fair amount being that Evie is a librarian and her love of books is simply delightful. So much fun!

Evie is the main character in the book and as the title suggests it's all about taking chances and grabbing life by the horns.

Evie works in the local library.

Life hasn't necessarily been great for her. Her childhood was spent in and out of foster care.
Until she meets her perfect match..... Irene.... They just click.
Their relationship is heartwarming. A mother and daughter bond. So touching.

All though Evie now has a stable life, her dream job and very good friends, she feels it's now the right time to search for her birth mother with so many unanswered questions she begins her journey to find her Mother.

What a journey she faces.
Full of emotional ups and downs.
I was fully absorbed taking the highs and lows alongside Evie.
Willing Evie to find her answers she so desperately deserved!

A fully immersive read, this book has it all, humour, a rollercoaster of Emotions, touch of Romance, plenty of surprises, twists and guesses, heartwarming moments, an absorbing poignant read.

Beautifully written characters.
Christie has touched on Evie's life in care with sensitivity and much research.
Making Evie's character so likeable and believable.
I loved all the characters but Evie holds a special place in my heart!

Would I recommend this book.... 100% YES!!

A Poignant Rom Com with all the right mix!

I received this book from the Publisher in exchange for a honest and fair review via Netgalley.

4.5

I have to start by mentioning that absolutely beautiful cover, all of Barlow’s covers are so pretty, but this one makes me want to climb on that bench next to Evie and read a book, it’s so cute! Evie is quite the adorable character as well, she’s a twenty three year old librarian, so this story is a book lovers dream. Besides plenty of scenes inside the library, I could totally relate to Evie and her best friend Clara’s obsession with authors, I may fangirl myself from time to time. Especially when one of my favorites follows me on Twitter. There may be squealing and giggle. Maybe. Moving on, Evie hasn’t had the easiest upbringing, she was taken into foster care as soon as she was born and didn’t find any real connection until she came into contact with Irene, her adoptive mother. These two have the loveliest bond, it was special and beautiful. Now Evie has decided to try and find her birth mother and though she’s scared, it’s time for her to start taking some risks.

When I read a romantic comedy I’m not really expecting that many twists but I was pleasantly surprised by how many turns this book took! It was a real emotional roller coaster as I vacillated from laughter, to sadness, then I was smiling through my tears. Barlow really knows how to craft authentic characters and besides the wonderful Evie I loved many more that were part of this charming story. Aiden is her new coworker, a single father with an adorably charming son, Theo, then there’s Wilson, the UPS man, and Noah an author who Evie admires. All of these men were likable and lovely, I couldn’t get enough of them. When you want to befriend every character in a book you know the author has done a wonderful job.

This was a sweet, uplifting read about what happens when you step outside of your comfort zone, totally feel good and gorgeous, but with some surprises along the way.

Having enjoyed Kitty’s Countryside Dream and absolutely loving Lizzie’s Christmas Escape, I was really looking forward to reading Evie’s Year of Taking Chances. This was another thoroughly enjoyable story of friendship, family, love, regrets, forgiveness and hope.

I loved that most of the characters in this book were librarians, authors, and members of a book club. Ideal for reading obsessed book lovers like myself. On the subject of characters, there was a great mix of personalities in this story. This author always creates loveable characters.

Although this story does cover a couple of sensitive subjects, it had an overall feel-good atmosphere to it. Some parts made me giggle, other parts made me cry happy tears.

I spent quite a while convinced I knew who a particular person was going to end up being, but I was completely wrong and ended up getting an unexpected surprise instead.

I felt the story was a little bit too far-fetched and convenient to feel completely realistic, but this didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the story. It reminded me of those feel-good Christmas films I love so much, just without the Christmas theme. Enjoyable escapism.

Evie’s Year of Taking Chances is a fabulous story filled with the most wonderful characters. This has to be one of the first books where there wasn’t one character that I didn’t like and enjoy reading about.

Evie I took to straight away. She hasn’t had the easiest of starts to life but that all changed when Irene came into her life. She loves her job in the local library and she has a great set of friends, especially Clara who she works with. Clara certainly brings some fun to the book and she is a great friend to Evie. So much so, that Evie lets Clara move in with her as they get on so well.

Being a book lover, this really is the ideal book for readers who love a good story which is laced with romance and where books are a big part of the characters lives. I mean we have Evie, Clara and Aiden who work in the library, there is a lovely cafe run by Mim where they hold the book clubs, throw some authors and wanna be writers in there and you have the perfect ingredients for a great book.

As my biggest love of genres is crime, I always love to be taken by surprise. Who knew that there could be twists, turns and surprises galore in this genre of novel? I loved that I didn’t fully know what was in store for me and it had my heart pounding madly with all the emotions I was going through.

Evie’s Year of Taking Chances was a book I wanted to climb into and lose myself totally into. As a devout book lover, parts of Evie’s life I was so envious of. To work with books, to socialise where books are the main topic it was like the author was writing of my own dreams. This is such a feel good book that broaches on some tough topics but written expertly as ever by a wonderful author. Loved it!

My thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

O…M…G! Christie Barlow has made me sob like a baby with her latest book! I was an emotional wreck by the end of it and I just wanted to stay with all the wonderful characters in Evie’s world-saying goodbye to them was a real wrench for me which doesn’t happen very often. But everything about Evie and her family and friends felt incredibly real to me and even now, a full 24 hours later, I feel so invested in them, I am unable to start a new book.

Evie has my dream job of working in a library. She gets to meet authors who visit and that’s how she first meets Noah Jones, whom she’s still thinking about months later. On her birthday she is surprised to receive a personally signed copy of a book by her favourite author, Sam Stone, which “magically” appears for her at work. This is the catalyst for Evie to make some major decisions about her life and so starts a year that Evie will never forget.

I loved everything about this book. All the characters were relatable and likeable. The plot was both humorous and heart wrenching in equal measures and the strands were so cleverly woven together. I became totally engrossed right from the beginning, Evie had a natural charisma that made me feel very maternal towards her especially as she was the same age as my daughters. And I desperately wanted that Happy Ever After for her, both romantically and for herself personally. At one point in particular, I cried my eyes out which put me in a highly emotional state for the rest of the book. You would think at my age I would be much more cynical about romance and life, wouldn’t you?! But Evie’s Year of Taking Chances just seemed to bury itself deep into my heart and I adored every minute of it. I also want to mention the book club attended by the characters here which is based on the real-life Mims cafe and book club in Staffordshire. It’s a place I have heard so much about on Social media and am desperate to visit, even more so now!

I have enjoyed all of Christie’s previous books but for me this is her best so far and my absolute favourite. I thoroughly recommend it for fans of romantic comedy. Just make sure you have a HUGE box of tissues and (unlike me!!) waterproof mascara just to be on the safe side! An irresistible book about finding love but more importantly, finding yourself.

Thank you to Bookouture for my review copy of Evie’s Year of Taking Chances which I have chosen to read and review.

You can find all my reviews at http://thebookreviewcafe.com

Normally nothing can separate me from my crime thriller reads but I have one exception to this rule and it comes in the shape of Christie Barlow. I would be the first to hold up my hand and admit I’m not a big fan of Rom Coms, I know I shouldn’t generalise but I usually find they all pretty much follow the same formula boy meets girl, lots of misunderstandings and then “happy ever after”, but this author provides the reader with so much more, her books have hidden depth, the dialogue is refreshing and superbly written and her characters are so well developed by the time you reach the End Of Evie’s Year Of Taking Chances you feel like your heart will break as you say “goodbye” to new found friends.

Evie has a good life she loves her job working in a library , she has wonderful relationship with Irene her foster mother and she has Clara the best friend anyone could ever wish for, but this doesn’t stop Evie wondering about her birth mother, as you can imagine there are so many questions Evie needs answering as to why she ended up in foster care. In finding the answers she hopes she can bring closure to her difficult childhood and start a new chapter in her life in the shape of Noah a handsome author, but like real life Evie will first have to face many “up and Downs” before she can’t find true happiness.

What I absolutely love about this authors books is her attention to her characters, they are so believable real that you find yourself becoming completely immersed in their story’s.
My emotions were all over the place whilst reading this novel, there are so many sensitive and heart breaking scenes in this novel one minute I would find myself laughing uncontrollably and the next minute I would find myself a snivelling mess as I reached yet another poignant moment in this delightful tale.

Christie Barlow has the unique ability to turn a Rom Com into something much more, yes there’s laughs a plenty, but she also draws on real life issues and writes about them with sensitivity, you can’t help but become involved in each characters story. Evie’s Year Of Taking Chances is like opening the most delicious box of chocolates a treat to be savoured. In my opinion Christie Barlow is one of the best writers in this genre and I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a Rom Com with that extra special something.

Evie works as a librarian and her life is wonderful except that one thing-she doesn't know her birth parents. Every birthday it hits her hard, but this year is going to be different. A mysteriously appeared book gave her the inspiration to start searching for her mom. Evie has a fantastic foster mom and great friends and she also has a crush on a guy who she saw 8 months ago, but that's about to change when he comes to the town due to his work. What will the year of taking chances bring to Evie?

It's the third book by the author and I've loved each and single book. I enjoyed the writing style and how the characters were brought to life. The story has wonderful plot, relatable characters and of course in addition to that it gives you all kind of emotions from grinning to balling your eyes out. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would totally recommend it.

Thank you to Netgalley, Bookoutre and Christie Barlow for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance reader copy of this book.

You can find my review on both Goodreads and Amazon. On goodreads.com/karenwhittard and on Amazon under k.e.whittard from publication date.

Oh how I had high hopes for this book. But sadly it just wasn't for me. I couldn't really get on with the writing style and it felt to me like it took forever to get anywhere.

The front cover and the bio are wonderful and I also loved the characters in this book. Just sadly not the way it was executed.

Let me know what you think of this book. Happy reading everyone

Love Love Loved this!

Evie's story is just beautiful, and absolutely emotional from start to finish. A real tear jerker.

Evie is a loveable character you just feel for, shes been through so much in her life and she has reached a point in her life where she is so settled and has a great job at the library, a perfect adoptive mum Irene and lovely best friend Clara. But there is a hole in her life and loads of unanswered questions so when her birthday arrives Evie embarks on a rollercoaster of a journey to find out who her birth mum is and her story to try and get closure.

There are plenty of shocks and surprises throughout the book which are absolutely fantastic! With so much drama you are left unable to put this book down.

This was a fantastically heartwarming story about a woman who decides to begin searching for her birth mother after years of struggling to fit in. The wonderful thing about Evie is that you don’t pity her or feel sorry for her in the sense that she’s a train wreck of a character. No, instead, she had a horrible start in life, being abandoned as a baby and going through numerous foster care homes, never feeling like she belonged anywhere and never learning how to read. She is taken in by her last foster mother, Irene, who not only teaches her how to read but instills in her a love of reading and helps her get a job in the same library she works at. Evie changes her last name to Irene’s and considers her more of a mother than she has ever known and their relationship is solid and magical to watch.

On her birthday, after years of always wondering why she was given up and with Irene’s support and encouragement, Evie decides to begin the search to track down her birth mother to hopefully get answers to the questions she has had her entire life. Along the way, she begins building other relationships that also thrive and blossom and opens herself to the possibility that she could also find and receive the love of her life.

I adored Evie. I felt an immediate connection to her and loved that she works in a library and despite the rocky start to her life she has come out very well grounded and balanced. She cares about others and is a good friend and daughter. She is someone I could easily work well with and be friends with. I loved the side story of not only her search for her birth mother, but also the side story of her crush on aspiring author, Noah, and the gift of her favorite author’s newest book by an anonymous benefactor.

All of the supporting characters added so much depth and dimension to the story and I felt connections to them as well. I really loved Irene and the care she gives to Evie is so genuinely displayed, I got misty eyed several times. Evie’s workmate and flatmate, Clara, was a hoot and I would love to see a story for her.

This story moves at a wonderful pace and though I figured out somethings pretty quick, there were still quite a few surprises that I wasn’t expecting and absolutely loved. I really enjoy this author’s work and voice and look forward to reading much more of her work.

My Final Verdict: Overall, this is a wonderful read that I highly recommend to readers who enjoy the chick-lit, contemporary romance and women’s fictions genres. Readers who also enjoy stories of friendship, forgiveness and taking steps forward with courage and bravery will also enjoy this one.

Thank you to the publisher, Bookouture, who provided an advance reader copy via NetGalley.

This was an amazing read and just wanted to keep reading to find out what was next. Excellent story line and so heartwarming but very poignant as well. It's Evie's birthday and she decides she wants to change everything and find out who she is so tries to find her real mother and on the same day her mother tries to find her. She works in the library and has made friends with the people she works with and can her close friend help her find her mum. Her search leads her to an author Noah and does she get heartbroken at the same time does she find her mother and does she find happiness or is it all to much. This is a must read.

A good read, particularly interspersed between thrillers! Set in a library, this book has a cast of characters to love, intrigue and mystery aplenty (including surprises and hunky authors) and a heartbreaking tale at its centre. Well worth a read. 4*

I have a real soft spot for Christie Barlow’s books and couldn’t wait to get my hands on Evie’s Year Of Taking Chances and it certainly didn’t disappoint.

Evie’s Year of Taking Chances begins on her birthday in January. The book loving librarian receives a signed book with a personal message from her favourite author, but she doesn’t know who sent it or how the author knew it was her birthday. It is also the day she decides, after spending her childhood in various foster homes, to take the plunge and try to find her birth mother.

Barlow always produces a novel that is so much more than a romantic comedy. Yes, the romance is there and it had the trademark Barlow wit, but she also always manages to add another layer to her stories. In this case that layer is Evie’s experience as a child in care and the impact it has had on her. Written with emotional acuity and a sensitivity towards her characters, it is clear that Barlow has spent time researching the impact of a life brought up within the care system. She manages to get right to the heart of the issues her character’s face and the affection she has for them shines through.

The characters in Evie’s Year of Taking Chances are just gorgeous. They have that down-to-earth, relatable quality to them and the fact that they are just like me and you make them feel like old friends. You can’t help but get completely immersed within their lives and I was really rooting for Evie. You feel every moment she goes through and she is the sort of person you would love to spend time with in real life.

I did figure out one aspect of the plot but this did not in any way hamper my enjoyment of the book. There were still lots of parts I didn’t see coming and in my opinion this book is as much about the journey Evie takes as it is about discovering the outcome.

I generally veer towards the dark novels, the ones that don’t always have a happy ending with characters you love to hate, but every now and again I need something different. Barlow’s books tick all the boxes in providing me with the warmth, humour and depth of emotions that I sometimes need in my reading. Evie’s Year of Taking Chances is no exception to this. This is a book to get cosy with, a comforting book that, despite the sad parts, lifts your spirits and gives you hope while wrapping you up in a snug cocoon. Barlow pretty much has it nailed when it comes to romantic comedy and women’s fiction and Evie’s Year of Taking Chances is testament to that. Just gorgeous!

A huge thank you to Christie Barlow and Kim Nash for the advance copy and for inviting me to take part in the blog tour. This is my honest and unbiased review.

I read a lot of dark crime fiction but every so often, my brain craves something that doesn't involve something to turn my stomach or wonder whodunnit. That is the time I turn to the books of Christie Barlow. They are light hearted reads, a bit of a palette cleanser when I spend most of my literary time knee deep in police investigations or having my head messed with.

Evie's Year of Taking Chances is quite an addictive read. I followed Evie on a journey of love, friendship, self discovery and heartbreak. Evie is a lovely character with an enviable job, working in a library!! Oh to be surrounded by books all day!

I do enjoy Ms Barlow's writing. It's got a light touch of intrigue and mystery interwoven with the insight into the main character's trials and tribulations. Yet again Christie Barlow tugged at my heart strings and made me shed a tear or two! I've loved all of her books so far and I'm looking forward to catching on her latest book I haven't read.

Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for my copy of Evie's Year of Taking Chances.

What a super story,  you just have to love a book that leaves you with that warm glowing feeling, and at this moment in time I could light up a small village. Wherever this place is I want to live there and be part of it. What lovely full bodied characters there are. Evie, although she had the roughest of starts finally became foster child of Irene and they were just perfect for each other. Although Evie is a young woman now and got her own place, she and her foster mum had even worked together at the library until Irene retired and they still went to book events together. It was like Irene was the common sense factor in Evie’s life, the one that taught her that not all the world is a bad place.
One of my favourite characters though has to be Evie’s newly acquired house mate, Clara. Clara was already Evie’s best friend and works with her at the library but she is more the good fun factor in Evie’s life, or to put it bluntly, the bad influence but in the best possible way. Just loved these two together.
Christie Barlow has not only created an abundance of romantic threads in this story that are all so very different, she has woven into these a couple of mysteries to be solved too. It all makes for a very exciting and heart warming read.  This is a super book for any chic lit lovers and book lovers too. You will find that you probably have quite a lot in common with the main characters, I certainly did. It is always  such a delight when this happens, the characters feel more real and you understand their line of thought.
Now the men in this book, well what can I say other than I really would like to live there. Seriously they are super characters that have their own insecurities too, crossed lines and misunderstanding. It all makes for a super read. A Lovely book, with a big recommend to buy.

I’ve had this on my TBR since it came out and I decided now was as good a time as any to pick it up, and I’m glad I did. Evie’s Year if Taking Chances was a really heartwarming read. Full of lovely characters, and with a real story at its core. I’m adopted so this one spoke to me on levels that any other book wouldn’t. I welled up more than once as Evie’s emotions were very similar to my own experiences. It was such a great book, and it definitely pulled at my heartstrings.

Evie's Year of Taking Chances by Christie Barlow follows the story of a Librarian called Evie who has g who has buried herself in books to ease the pain of never knowing her Birth Mother and being the product of a childhood spent in foster care. She was lucky enough to meet Irene who took her under her wing and gave Evie the life that she deserved.
On Evie's birthday she receives a mysterious parcel on the counter of her work and it sparks something inside Evie and she finds the motivation to finally search for the answers that she needs and find out who her Birth Mother is. Little does Evie realise that she may have been under her nose the whole time....

This book was just a heartwarming beautiful read full of the right amount of love, life and laughter. Christie Barlow never fails to disappoint! I found myself so swept up in the ages pages that i finished this book in one sitting.

A big thankyou to Netgalley and Bookouture for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review which I have been more then happy to give.

Well, what a wonderful story this is!
Having read and loved Lizzie's Christmas Escape in December, I jumped at the chance to read Evie's Year of Taking Chances and I am so glad I did. It's a lovely story which made me smile often and cry also. It's a very emotional read and one I am sure many will relate to in some way.
I loved that Mim's cafe is featured. I haven't visited the real one, but have heard so many good things about it.
Evie hasn't had the happiest of childhoods, but since being fostered by Irene life has been better. Irene has always treated her as her own and she loves her dearly for it. They have a lovely relationship. Evie loves her job as a librarian and she has her own little two up two down which she loves. She has always wondered about her birth mother though. As she celebrates another Birthday she decides it's time to take the plunge and start a search. She has no idea if her mother will want to be found or even if she is still alive, but she must try.
As she waits for news, half expecting there not to be any, she learns that handsome author, Noah Jones, will be in town for a book signing soon. She had met Noah some months ago and he had been on her mind ever since. Her best friend, Clara, encourages her to follow him on Twitter and it seems he hasn't forgotten her either. Could this be the start of a beautiful romance?
It isn't long before The Salvation Army get in touch with Evie. They have found her mother and she's written her a letter. Nothing could prepare Evie for what had happened though or who in fact her mother actually is! She experiences a roller-coaster of emotions as she uncovers the truth.
Evie's Year of Taking Chances is a completely compelling story, full of the most wonderful characters with heart-warming and sometimes heart-breaking stories to tell. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them all! It's full of surprises and I do love a happy ending. I highly recommend to anyone looking for an uplifting story with characters you'll fall in love with.
Many thanks, as always, to Bookouture for my auto-approval status on Netgalley and to Kim Nash for inviting me to be a part of the blog tour :-)

Evie's Year of Taking Chances,  Christie Barlow

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: Romance, Women’s Fiction

I really, really wanted to like this book, loved the sound of it,loved the cover and was confinced it would be a story I'd enjoy.
I thought it would be one of those reads that are light and funny, but which have periods of depth and some solid romance.

Everyone seems to love Evie, so why didn’t I?
I didn’t dislike her, but somehow I didn’t particularly like her either, there wasn’t anything special that made me feel “this girl deserves.....” Her story was sad but then few of us lead the perfect life.
I need to really “feel” a person, to read them as if they are real, would be a friend in real life, someone I want good things to happen to. with Evie I just felt like an onlooker to her life, not someone there in the story with her.

Noah gets mentioned a few times in passing as an author, and given she only interacted very briefly with him at an afternoon event she’s wound an extraordinary amount of feelings about him into her fantasies.
If we’d actually got to meet him but...I’m almost at the halfway mark, and we still haven’t actually met him in person, all we have is a few random tweets aimed at Evie. And what feels like some teen fangirling by Evie and her friend...
I just don’t like the story enough to continue waiting for him, and the mystery that’s going to come out.

Its a well written story, there are some fun characters here and I can see its a book others love, so you may also.
Its one of those cases where its not the book its me, we just don’t gel, it wasn’t what I was expecting. Maybe I’ll come back to it another time and feel differently but for now I'm just not in the right mind-set, am not enjoying it enough to finish it.

Stars: Two, a good book, just not one for me.

The beginning of the book sets things up brilliantly as you are introduced to Evie and her friend Clara. I got a great feeling for both Evie's character and personality. With her love of books making me instantly like her. You really can feel Evie's love of books and reading jumping out from the pages. So as a bookworm myself it is so easy to feel a kinship with her. All of the characters that feature in this story are well rounded with distinct personalities. They all had a great story to share and it felt at times as if I had become a part of their world.

Evie's Year Of Taking Chances is such an enjoyable book especially as it felt so down to earth and natural to read. I really felt as if the characters could be people I knew, along with the fact that some if the personality traits were similar to my own.

I have to mention that as soon as I got to the bit about fish finger sandwiches I was off into the kitchen to make some for myself, yum!

There were some emotionally charged moments within this book but they were sensitively handled. My heart almost broke for Evie on occasion and I have to say I shed a tear or two. The best thing was how well the transition from any sad moments to more light hearted moments was. The story flowed effortlessly and I really didn't want to put the book down.

I love that Christie Barlow writes such wonderful characters that I always find myself attached to. This book is a perfect example with engaging characters and a heart felt story.

Emotional at times but beautifully written and filled with love, friendship and feel good moments.

Five big, big stars from me!

Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for my copy. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Feel free to take a look at my book review blog!

Wow! This book is one big roller-coaster of emotions! We meet Evie, who works in the local library (my dream job!!) She is also part of a book club, the book club takes place in the local café where they have tea and cake (what is not to love?!)
It's Evie's Birthday and the day always makes her think of her biological mother and her childhood. On her Birthday Evie decides it's time to make a start in searching for her real mother. I really felt for Evie when she was awaiting contact on the search and when she finally got to meet her mother, I just love the twists throughout.

I really liked all the characters in the book, Evie's best friend Clara who moves in with her and has a wardrobe to die for! Aiden a newbie who is working at the library and Irene who is Evie's adoptive mother. Even the other characters who played small but important parts to the story, I felt I got to know them so well and by the end I felt part of the gang!

This book kept me guessing right until the very end which I love, so many things happen at the beginning which you don't find out until the very end of the book causing me to have so many 'OMG' moments making me rush through the book just wanting to find out all the answers.

Lastly.. Noah... Oh Noah... What's not to love?! I love that Evie takes a chance and you get to see their relationship blossom. Evie is such a lovely character you want nothing but good things to happen for her.

I really enjoyed the ending, so much so that I had a big smile on my face when I turned the last page. Definitely a must read!!

Evie doesn't have an easy start in life being in foster care until she finds Irene and finds the love that she has been searching for. At 23 she is working as a librarian which is the perfect job for her when she receives the signed copy of a book for her birthday and is inspired to go a look for her birth mother

Evie has some great friends, especially Clara who works with her, and they both totally live in the world of books but her search is going to take her out of her comfort zone and meeting new people - including Noah who she has had a bit of a crush on but what has he got to do with her mission?

A lovely warm hearted book with plenty of fun and drama - definitely one for the beach

I loved this story and read it in one day. It's a great summer holiday read. Our main character is Evie she is single and is a librarian. Evie has a foster mum, Irene, who features in her life immensely, however she still feels the need to find her real mum. We join Evie on a journey full of great friendship's and romance, with a sprinkle of heartbreak!
