Raven Maxim #2.1

White Trash

Rate this book
PLEASE NOTE: Though this book is not technically a romance novel, it has strong romantic elements. This book is also adult in nature and for mature audiences, only. (profuse profanity, explicit sexual encounters and violence.)

*PLEASE NOTE: This is a complete story that is divided into two parts due to the size of the work. This solution is referred to as a double novel. Part 1 and Part 2 are being released on the exact same day, at the exact same time. Part 1 is entitled, “White Trash.” Part 2 is entitled, “Black Class.” Therefore, there is technically no lingering cliffhanger since both books will be available for purchase simultaneously, thus avoiding any wait time whatsoever for readers.

Dean North has spent his entire life in Macon, Mississippi. Rebellious and temperamental, he has turned his life around after a violent, disturbed youth. Trapped in a small town, he lives unfulfilled, plagued by his inner demons. Until, one night, things get worse before they get better…

Marilyn Majors is a Maxim, New York native. Successful, persistent, and results-driven, she specializes in picking up sinking ship companies and turning them into nautical gold stars. She’s sacrificed her life and heart to the gods of ambition. But when she meets a hardworking man with the charisma, enthusiasm, and acumen to take him places, she’s intrigued in a way she simply can’t shake loose, although she tries — for society would deem the crude, lowly Dean way outside of her league…

Sparks fly, resistance is futile, and in the end, the two forge a tight bond. But are they strong enough together to withstand the storm? Will they eventually make a way out of no way? Through heartbreak, betrayal, friendship, mammoth challenges, and unstoppable passion, time will tell if this is a love worth keeping.

Mississippi Swagger!

Tianna Laveen has delivered another awesome book! Her writing style always enhances the reading experience and the relationship the reader has with the characters!
Dean North is a force of nature that won't be denied! Marilyn Majors is a lost soul that needs to be saved! Dean comes in all white hot sexy and devours Marilyn's defenses like a boss; a coup de grâce but in a good way!

Masterful

To read a Tiana Laveen novel is to get insight to issues you never knew you had!

Marilyn and Dean....wow, where do I start? Dean has been told so many times by so many people that he wasn't sh*t, he actually started to believe it. He was so into self sabotage, it wasn't funny! But the one thing he had was pride...that's something he would NEVER allow anyone to take from him.

Marilyn is that poor little rich girl who was never allowed to be a kid. Her parents taught her you have to be the best AT ALL TIMES....I think more for them than her.

The insight Dean has doesn't surprise me...he reads people well; he had to in order to acclimate himself to whatever situation he found himself in. He's also finally understanding what Rose has been trying to tell him for years....education is the key to a successful future, however you define success.

The heat between the two was electrifying!! The more she resisted, the harder Dean pushed. He sees a future with her
and he was not going to let her hide from the possibility.

Ready to dive into the next book!!

Unstoppable Force!!!

Dean North is exactly the man your mama warned you about. He is the bad boy of bad boys. Drinking, cussing, smoking, fighting hellraiser that made no apologies for being who he is.

Marilyn Majors is the exact opposite, raised middle class, raised to be an overachiever. She is totally driven to succeed and have no business being attracted to the likes of Dean North. He is an unstoppable force and I don't think she knew what to make of him. He was all wrong for her but he refused to be ignored.

What happens when White Trash meets Black Class? One can only imagine but it's guaranteed to be explosive and it is.

This was an exceptionally good read, that only had a minute amount of lag and annoying "woo-woo" metaphysical philosophy...

I am so glad that Ms. Laveen has once again, taken up her mantle as the lyrical griot of IR Romance Fiction..

Giving this one: 4 groovy stars ;^)

Labels we give people affect them in various ways

Dean had been called a fire starter, a demon and worst of all white trash. The latter label took him all of his life to live down and that was the label that made him the most angry. Dean was a complicated character who wanted so desperately to be something positive for himself. When he got the opportunity to get out of Macon, Mississippi he took the chance to escape to Maxim, New York where he just flourished with the help of college and some friends, especially a beautiful woman named Marilyn.
Marilyn also had a label she was forced to live up to and that was the label of black gold or black class. Her parents indoctrinated her with the theory that she had to be ten times better than anyone else. As a result, she was a very cold adult that had passion lacking. Then came along Dean who fought to knock those walls down. We see her coming into a New self in the end of this book.

Tiana always does an excellent job with her books. I enjoyed reading it.

What can I say about this book??

This book was EXCELLENT, it had me in my feelings. DEAN NORTH is such an extraordinary character. He is the underdog you want to see succeed. He is rough, crass, obnoxious, sexy, smart and very intutitive. Damn, where can one find such a man in reality. Lol.

I truly enjoyed how Ms Laveen took us to the world of Dean and allowed us to have such a peek into this man's life. It let us see that he is truly the best man for Ms MARILYN MAJORS. He is more than she ever excepted and all she ever needed.

Thank you Ms Laveen for another great read.

Now onto BLACK CLASS.

Slow Burn to Mayhem & ♥️Magic Duet

This is a slow burn to mayhem & ♥️magic with Demon hell- raising Dean & classy, corporate cut- throat Marilyn Majors. These two are polar opposites in upbringing , education & social status , yet they somehow fit & create angst, drama, humor, passion 🔥🔥🔥& ♥️🌶️🌶️🌶️together. Marilyn is an ode to Olivia Pope (Scandal📺) and Dean is a multi-layered exciting package of BDE, no- filter, fighting, hard working, striving for a better life, bundle of 🥹surprises, who falls hard for the unattainable Marilyn!!! I am fully engaged in this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📕& can’t wait to read 📚2-Black Class😍Happy Reading🍷

I feel like I'm selling the author short by not leaving a long review but to get to the heart of things: this duo is really entertaining. This story sets up the story and the male protagonist is no hero but he is really charming. Like even when he was a smart mouth jerk, he was still captivating as a character.

While Book One is a bit more of a set than a romance, it makes for good drama. The romance does come in halfway but I never felt anxious waiting for it to play out cause the build up and back story on Dean was so riveting.

Love white trash!

Diana Laveen has written another story to capture your attention and hold you in place until the end. This book really deals with our two characters finding out who they really are on the inside. This is still a love story but is just more than that this is a well written journey of two souls.

Couldn’t put it down

Definitely slow burn, but worth it. I like how the characters were developed but I do like Marilyn her strength and I am sure in the next book we will see her vulnerable side. I couldn’t stand Brad, but I predicted that was going to happen. On to the next.

Too much cussing

I tried to read this, but the first few pages just got on my nerves. Sometimes I can overlook the cussing, but other times it’s just too much.

Country meets City

"I love his body, I love his nature, I love his barbaric.."....Dean turned out city girl....give a down home country-fied..beat down..with his world class loving...Marilyn thought she was schooling a country bumpkin from Mississippi...but Dean knows how to play the game...like Tiana said..this ain't a love story ...yet...gotta get part 2 to really do this justice...

A Very Great Read!!!

This book takes preconceived notions that we may have about certain individuals and smashes them far and wide. In this book we meet Dean North who everyone has written off as useless, loud, temperamental, going no where a-hole. After reading his comings and goings since he was young, you can't really blame him for being the way he is. When your stuck in a town like he is, you can't really see the forest from the trees unless someone is there to help reach out to find it. Fortunately for Dean he does get a hand, but if you want to find out if he uses it you'll have to get the book. We also meet Marilyn who is the complete opposite of Dean and not just she's female and he's a male. Marilyn had a completely different upbringing than Dean did, which leads to live a very successful life but keeps everyone at bay with her high protective walls that she has erected. Your really can't blame Marilyn either for being the way she is, with her type of upbringing as well. In this book you get to see two very different individuals who somehow despite their differences are working on very even ground. Read on to find out all the juicy details.

In Ms. Laveen’s second installment of the Raven, Maxim series, she has written one of the most notorious heroes to date and I loved it! Dean “The Demon” North is White Trash. I found myself anxiously reading trying to figure out how Ms. Laveen would redeem such a soulless character. With her descriptive writing, this author digs into how perceptions can lead us down different life paths. I did have some issues believing that there were never any repercussions with Dean’s degenerate behavior while he is in Macon, Mississippi. However, I should note that I have no legal knowledge of such cases but I am certain Ms. Laveen did her research to support why she wrote these passages that way. In learning about Dean I was able to empathize with his many struggles and cheer on his journey to a fresh start. Readers should be aware that there is a part 2 to this story which must be read in order to understand how Dean finally finds his HEA. However, note that this work can be read as a two part stand- alone from book 1 Ghost Writer of the Raven, Maxim series. I happily recommend this work and look forward to reading Black Class part two.

This is what happens when an author takes the time build characters, so you know them inside out. Maybe, as well as you know yourself. Get to know Dean North. You might be inclined to dismiss him at first glance, however this would be a mistake as there is more depth to him. Dean North is in desperate need of a new start, and has reached the end of his rope. Then, a sliver of hope is offered up. It comes with strings attached, and threatens to plunge him into a darkness deeper than he has ever known. In the midst of this, he crosses paths with a woman who is unlike any he has ever known. Marilyn Majors appears to have it all together, but like Dean her life is in need of some serious change. This a wonderfully detailed story, full of pain, yet full of hope.

Lawd have mercy!

Dean was down on his luck, but took advantage of an opportunity that a so-called friend got for him and slowly put himself back together again. He was a smart, sexy and dangerous! Marilyn was smart, sexy and at the top of her game! Boy did they bump heads, but they wanted each other so bad! Once again Tiana, you are a excellent writer. I loved this book. Can't wait to part 2. If you have never read anything by Tiana, you need to start. She is awesome! Great book!

COOL

This is a nice start to this story. I'm really feeling Dean!! The way he's described I definitely feel like I know him, his sister and his friends. I wish I had a little more of Marilyn but I'm not worried, Tiana Laveen never disappoints.
