Review: Ah, this one wasn't for me.
I find it exceedingly strange that after years and years of friendship both Daniel and Amy start having feelings for each other at the exact same time.
I liked Daniel's ploy to get her to look at him in a different light but found the repetition of Daniel/Amy getting close and then she pushing him away because she was afraid of losing him and their friendship quite tiresome. Don't get me wrong, I expect a bit of that in a friends-to-lovers romance but after the second time it happened I was bored.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY is a sexy friends to lovers story that was as emotional as it was hot.
Jess Dee's talent of mixing scorching hot sexy scenes with an emotional and character-driven romance shines through from start to finish. I had some trouble with Amy but in short I really enjoyed the writing and the sexy times.

Planned Seduction has my favorite storyline which is friends to lovers, over all the novel was good but there wasn’t enough something. I don’t know exactly what was missing but there was just something. I liked the characters, the storyline and the steamy scenes but I felt like the emotional connection between Amy and Daniel wasn’t as strong as I would expect for best friends. I would recommend it and will probably read more from this series if another novel comes out. It just needed a bit more work in the connection between the main character. It’s a 3.5 star read for me.

Amy and Daniel have been best friends for seventeen years and – unbeknownst to Amy – Daniel has been in love with her all that time. To Amy, Daniel is the most important person in her life, the only one she can rely on, and she will not allow her unwanted attraction to him ruin their friendship. She’s had her heart broken more than once and Daniel isn’t the type to commit, so she shuts down any hint of desire for him. However, Daniel has finally reached his limit. He can never commit to any woman because the only woman he’s ever truly loved is Amy. If he has to resort to a little trickery to seduce her into his bed and win her heart, then that’s fine by him. So long as he finally has his chance to prove to Amy that he’s the man for her.
I always enjoy a good friends-to-lovers romance, and Jess Dee’s Planned Seduction is a steamy one. I was charmed by Daniel from early on. He’s confident, charming, and sexy-as-sin, but what really got me is his big, slightly vulnerable heart, and how head-over-heels he is for Amy. The two of them have been best friends for nearly two decades, have been there for each other through thick and thin, and it’s clear they’re perfect for each other. I’m generally indifferent to games or planned seduction, but in this story it worked because Daniel and Amy knew each other so well and he would cut off his arm before he ever hurt her. Their friendship comes through and gives their romance a solid base so that the eroticism of the story can take over without the heart of the romance being sacrificed. When things get hot, they get really hot and I loved watching Daniel and Amy’s relationship change and reach its full potential.
Planned Seduction wouldn’t be much of a story if there were no obstacles, and in this case the hitches on the road to happily ever after all come from Amy. I understood that she’d been badly burned, and Ms. Dee made it clear why Amy feared changing her relationship with Daniel. However, Amy also triggered one of my biggest pet peeves: she’s a character who decides how other people feel for them. She insists Daniel doesn’t know his own feelings and tells him what he feels for her. The fact that Amy is a counselor who should know better than do to that only detracted from the story further, and I lost a bit of patience with the unnecessary drama. Fortunately for both the characters and plot, the majority of the story is fun, erotic, and Daniel and Amy have excellent chemistry. When things go right in Planned Seduction , the story is truly entertaining. So while it had some ups and downs, I liked Amy and Daniel’s book enough that I’ll definitely be reading Ms. Dee’s next Seduction book.

Having read this book years ago and recently re-reading it for this review, I once again enjoyed it immensely. Friends to lovers is a favorite romance troupe of mine so Planned Seduction was right up my alley, I loved that the hero was head over heels and had to convince the heroine that he was serious about being in a relationship with her. The sexual tension was heavy in this story which only added to the intriguing story line.
Friends for seventeen years and best friends for most of that time Daniel Tanner has finally figured out that Amy Morgan is the woman he wants in his life as his friend, lover, and wife. Daniel knows he has an uphill battle on his hands because Amy doesn’t trust men; between her father and her ex-boyfriend she is prepared to be alone.
First off I want to say holy hell of an opening sex infused dream! Seriously the first chapter alone was scorching hot even if it was a dream sequence. Once this couple got together physically it showed that despite they were far apart on what they were to one another, their lifelong friendship and unmistakable chemistry left no doubt they were equally matched and satisfied physically.
After working on a particularly grueling photo essay assignment, Daniel has had time to come to terms with events from his past that skewered his thinking and understand what he wants from life and he makes a plan to go after Amy. I very much enjoyed Daniel’s pursuit of Amy and loved that despite the fact never expected to settle down that once her realized Amy was the woman for him he went for it completely and totally. I’ll admit I grew weary of Amy’s reasoning for not being with Daniel. She trusted Daniel enough to be her best friend and confidant for years, but refused to believe that he wanted her in his life as his lover and more. For someone as educated as she was and someone who had the job of counseling others she needed a prescription for “physician heal thyself.” I would have loved to see Amy really take stock of her life, accept that she had some issues and grow a bit more, I felt that even though she figured out she loved Daniel she still didn’t completely trust him which was sad.
Despite the problems I had with this book, there were moments of fun, moments of reflection, moments of joy, moments of seriousness, and many, many moments of sexiness making Planned Seduction an entertaining romance.

SO close to a five-star rating, but alas, no cigar. And the reason for the star deduction is, like most of the other reviewers, Miss Amy Morgan. Daniel is amazing. He is funny. He is sweet. He is nice. He is talented. He is drop-dead sexy. He is amazingly talented in the boudoir (and against sides of buildings, in pools, on balconies, on kitchen tables, etc). He has stuck by Amy's side as her bestie for seventeen years. But because he has never had a relationship that has lasted more than six months, even though he's never cheated on any of them and has broken it off before he does, Amy doesn't trust him because her douchebag father cheated on her mother and her douchebag ex-boyfriend Simon was unfaithful as well? Wow. I'm actually kind of surprised that Daniel put up with that mess, but people do crazy things when they are in luuuv. Best friends to lovers is one of my favorite themes for books, and this one does a GREAT job with it. It's not like all of a sudden there's this sexual heat, they are in bed and poof, they live happily ever after. Oh no. Way too much drama along the way, but the emotional kind, not the "my ex is a stalker" kind. Very solid on the emotions, the involvement of Daniel's family is a great set up for a series (I can't wait to read Ask Adam), and the children with cancer subplot is a really nice touch. This is the third book that I have read by Jess Dee and the third in a row with a medical thread running through it, and it's really a nice twist to read. The dual POV in the third person was executed nicely and I love the fact that all of Jess Dee's books are set in Australia..it's such a nice change from most erotica which is set in the states. Very solid read, excellent plot, nice twist on a very popular theme for erotica/romance novels, and nicely paced movement.

Being new to this genre, I have to say that I didn't go into to it expecting much, which is good, because "not much" is what I got.
Daniel Tanner is a young, successful hot stud who is in love with his BFF, the equally hot and successful Amy Morgan who wears her Daddy issues on her sleeves. Two hot people who get gawked at anytime they’re somewhere in public, but are too busy secretly lusting for each other to notice. Shocker.
Due to a recent life altering experience Daniel has decided to finally tell his BFF that he’s in love with her, but, alas, there are problems with just out right telling her. First there are her daddy issues, only to be followed by former douche bag boyfriend issues, and then there is the fact that she’s watched him go through girls like underwear for the past 17 years. What is a boy to do?
Old reliable of course! The "I have to trick my best friend into falling in love with me" thing would have been cute if it wasn't so blatantly awkward. The first sexual encounter between them feels out of place and I don’t actually get why she “falls for him”….yeah they’re best friends but…I never actually see the part where it officially happens, where he crosses over from the hot guy that’s more like a brother to the hot guy I want to be with.
Daniel is somewhat of a likeable character even though he, along with everyone else falls completely flat. The dialogue isn’t all that believable. Then there are the lines one character says and you think to yourself “I swear, he/she/someone else just said that” – you flip back a page or two and, yes, word for word this has already been said. Weird.
It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t all that great either.

I really liked this, even with the cheesy plot and slightly dim, narrow minded heroine. BUT I’m kind of in the minority in that I also think the H is a moron. First, why did it take him this long to express his feelings? Second, I think she had EVERY right to doubt him when she shows up at his apartment. It’s three in the morning, a woman (who he’s slept with before) comes to the door in her nightgown and he’s in boxers that are inside out. I know she’s projected some trust issues on the H that actually come from her dad and ex-bf, which isn’t fair. But any human with brain cells would want and demand an explanation. He dismisses her with a comment like “wow you really must think low of me.” Well, who wouldn’t? The whole situation was never really explained. She should trust him, but he should give her reason to.

This was a great friends to lovers story. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was because the heroine, Amy was soooooooo stubborn, irrational and stupid towards the end that I wanted to slap her. She finally did see the light about how she treated the hero and realized she had been wrong, but I still think he deserved better. I liked this book (but I still want to slap her LOL)

This is my first book by Jess Dee and I really enjoyed it! Daniel was such a sweetie and I loved him from the first (basically steals the show). Of course, I'm always one for the player who has secretly loved the quiet girl—not exactly the setup here, because Amy isn't a wallflower-type, but still—so I was predisposed to enjoy it, but as we all know, things can still go very wrong in very many different ways. Thankfully, things went very right in Planned Seduction!
Dee is a good writer, Amy and Daniel are both very likable and cute together, the chemistry between them is sizzling, there's some great humor, and it all unfolds so sweetly (and hotly!). I felt Daniel's frustration and longing, and in some ways Daniel was actually more accessible than Amy. I think that's probably because it's more difficult to identify (at least for me) with what it would be like to be best friends with someone (for 17 years!!!!) and then all of a sudden your relationship is taken to a whole new level; the way in which you see a friend/best friend vs. a partner is SO different, that that shift would be hard to describe and nail no matter what.
I do wish we had gotten a bit more of a view of Daniel and Amy's friendship beforehand, and actually I think this probably would have helped with the thing I just mentioned above. At some level, I never got that sense of easiness that must be there after being best friends for 17 years. Obviously, things between them start to get tense and shift once Daniel puts his plan into action, but I think it would have been all the more enjoyable had we been able to experience Daniel's unrequited love and Amy's oblivious best friendship, and then get to see things evolve.
Amy is a bit of a dimwit towards the end, but romances always have to have that last hurdle and frankly, it was a nice change to have it be the heroine who was being stupid, with the hero being oh-so-wonderfully-fantastically-in-love consistently throughout the book ::sigh:: ;-).
Bottom Line. Great read, absolutely *ADORE* Daniel, and can't wait to read more books by Jess Dee!

If you've read my reviews before, then you know that I've got so much love for Jess Dee's writing talents. She's just one of those authors I know I can pick up their book and love every moment of the journey. She has never disappointed me, and this re-release of her book previously titled Photo Opportunity is no exception. It was emotional and sexy and just everything I love to read, so I can't recommend it enough.
So let's talk about Planned Seduction... Daniel Tanner has been in love with Amy forever but he's decided that now is the time to finally final on those feelings after some deep self-reflection. All Amy has seen is a parade of women going through his life and she isn't interested in being one of his many conquests despite his attempts to convince her otherwise. Little does she know, he is determined to prove her that he can be the only man that she needs.
For as emotional as this story was at times, it was seriously sexy too. The sexual tension between these two is intense, but I think it had just the perfect mix and I simply adored these characters. Daniel had a vulnerability to him that I found vastly appealing, and poor Amy...well she tried to resist him in earnest, but his charm was just too much in the end for her and I could totally see why. Overall, I think this is a great read and who doesn't just love a great friends to lovers book?

What happens when your best friend tells you that he loves you especially when you have had men leave you all your life? That’s what Amy had to deal with. She and Daniel were best friends since she was seventeen and they leaned on each other for everything. Daniel had known that Amy has had important men in her life cheat on her one way or another and she was more than reluctant to let another man do that to her again. That’s why it was so important to her to keep Daniel as a friend and nothing more. Daniel had a revolving door of women in and out of his bedroom and Amy witnessed all of this…since they were best friends and would confide in each other. That is except for the fact that Daniel was in love with Amy and didn’t know how to tell her without her running from him and what they could have.
This was all about two friends finding each other with a different piece of their hearts. It was crazy the lengths that Daniel would go through for Amy and only had me wishing that I had a “Daniel” as a best friend. I questioned myself over the rating of this book a few times while I was reading it. I was torn, since I loved the male lead, and I really enjoy Jess Dee's work, but I couldn't stand the idiot of a female lead.
I had to stop reading last night, as I found myself wanting to throw my iPad across the room in sheer disgust at how stupid and narrow minded the character of Amy was. Yes, her father and ex-boyfriend left and cheated on her, but the fact that her job as a counsellor meant that she still couldn't get over what had happened with her Dad and Ex, just annoyed me. As a counsellor, who is friends with other counsellors (Maggie) shouldn't she have come to the realisation that Daniel wasn't her father or Simon sooner??? Also, if she wasn't able to trust her supposed best-friend then who could she trust. Arrggghhh…ok so enough of a rant.
If you ignore the parts in the book where Amy is whiny, deluded and just a plain idiot, the rest is great. I really like Daniel and his sister Lexie. It's an ok short read, it's not a great romance and it's not steaming up the pages with white hot sex, but it was a semi-decent read for a quiet Sunday afternoon/early Monday morning.

But after a difficult project photographing children in the local cancer ward, Daniel does some soul searching and realizes that he doesn't want to be just friends with Amy--he wants her, body and soul. The trick will be convincing her she wants him in the same way.
Amy's loved Daniel for years, not *that* way, but as a best bud, knowing he's a gorgeous hunk who will never settle down. And she doesn't imagine that for herself either, having had her heart broken first by witnessing her father's infidelity, and then by the cruel desertion of an unfaithful boyfriend. When Daniel starts turning his charm on her, she resists with every fiber of her being, knowing that is a direction they cannot go without ruining the great thing they already share.
But Daniel's nothing if not determined, and Amy finds it hard to continue saying no when her body and her heart so dearly want to say yes to the possibilities Daniel opens up...

The storyline is good and the writing style is great. There is no unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and lots of dialogues so it's easy to read. Then again I wonder if it's too easy so my brain gets bored..........
I feel the sexual connection but I'm sorry to say I can't feel the emotional connection between the two main characters. Sad, but that's just my feelings about this story.
There is a whole lot of hotness in this story so the author nailed that, but I can't help feel like there is something missing, don't know what but again that's just how I feel. I really wanted to like it more because I've read works from this author before and liked it very much.
Sorry to give it a weak 4 star, the only thing saving it from being 3 is the hot love scenes.

This was a hot one...
Planned Seduction (The Seduction Series) - Jess Dee

Friends-to-lovers is one of my all time favorite tropes so, when I read the description for PLANNED SEDUCTION, I was super excited to read it. And while I didn't love everything about the story, I really thought it was an enjoyable read.
Amy and Daniel have been friends for the last seventeen years. Daniel has also been secretly in love with Amy for about the same time. He's never felt that it was the right time to let his feelings be known, but after a life changing photography assignment, he knows that he's got to make his move. The problem is getting his best friend who thinks all men leave her to take him seriously is going to be difficult.
So, Daniel comes up with a plan that will seduce his best friend into becoming his lover and hopefully much more. But will Amy be willing to take a chance on him and them becoming more than just friends?
As I stated before, I'm a sucker for friends-to-lovers stories. And this one really fit the bill because Amy and Daniel have so much history together. How they made it through their hormone riddled teen years without so much as a make out session, I have no idea, but I loved the ease of their friendship. I also loved the way that Daniel knew he had to ease Amy into the idea of a more physical relationship with him. It showed how much he knew his best friend and her issues.
And when those two got together...WOW! We are talking off the charts hot. Jess Dee is one of those authors that I know is going to bring the heat. And nothing was left unscorched in this one. It seemed like a seamless transition to me. Their friendship made their physical relationship that much better.
But, that's where the story fell short for me. Amy, who is a therapist, really just went off the rails. She was so afraid of being hurt like she has been by men in her past, that she made so really ridiculous choices. We've seen that before, right, but it was the fact that she is a therapist that really didn't sit well with me. Didn't she have some therapy to work on her own issues? Here in the states, it's basically a requirement to do that. Maybe things are different in Australia, but the girl needed some serious couch time. She was so stunted that she made those too stupid to live type of decisions and it made the story less enjoyable right there.
Luckily, she came to her senses and I got the HEA that was rooting for all along, but I wanted to about strangle her there for a second.
Overall though, PLANNED SEDUCTION was a very hot read that was enjoyable to read. I have read books by this author before, and I know that I'm in for a steamy one when I see her name and this one certainly didn't disappoint there.

The chemistry they shared was evident the minute they laid eyes on one another, and with each encounter that followed it just continued to burn hotter, and there was no denying it... no matter how much Amy tried! I have to say this turned out to be a very memorable first read for me, it not only introduced me to an amazing new author, but it also made for one hell of a literary escape... one that I'm still filling the heat from!!

Amy and Daniel have been best friends since they were children. They spend a lot of time together, but Amy doesn't know that Daniel is in love with her. She's been hurt several times in her past and is afraid to give her heart to someone again. That's why Daniel has a plan, he knows there could be more between them and that they can have it all. Amy needs time to let down her guard and Daniel wants her to gradually get used to the idea of them as a couple.
Daniel never loved any of his girlfriends the way he loves Amy and that is why he had quite a few of them. However, because of this Amy thinks he will dump her after a few months as well and she's certain he'll get tired of her. She doesn't want to jeopardize their friendship for a fling, no matter how attractive she finds him. Will Daniel be able to win her heart or will his plan backfire completely?
Planned seduction is a fun and sexy story. There's plenty of chemistry between Amy and Daniel. They have a very close connection and know each other through and through. Amy is a sweetheart, but she is afraid to love again. Daniel keeps telling her how much he likes her and he's incredibly kind and caring. He doesn't show his love with words alone, everything he does for and with Amy makes it obvious how much she means to him. I loved that aspect of the story. Amy and Daniel are clearly made for one another and as I'm a big fan of stories about soul mates I enjoyed reading about these two wonderful people a lot.

Jess Dee's writing flows easily and Planned Seduction is a nice, quick read. Daniel is a photographer and to raise money for the children's ward in a local hospital he's put together a beautiful impressive collection of pictures. I loved Jess Dee's vivid descriptions of the project itself and what spending time with the children means to Daniel. It gives the story an extra layer of depth and seriousness, which makes it well balanced. I really liked Planned Seduction it's a great, entertaining story.

If you like a friends-to-lovers tale, then this definitely delivers that. Your mileage may vary, though, depending on how you view "romantic" manipulation and how willing you are to put up with a heroine who is being stubborn for the sake of stubbornness.
For me this was an okay read. I liked Daniel, even though I definitely wasn’t on board with some of his decisions when it came to seducing Amy. He seems like a decent guy, with a few hangups thanks to his sister’s childhood illness. He’s been in love with Amy forever, but only recently has come to realise that he needs to do something about it. Putting some of his methods aside, and considering he’s supposed to be the one with commitment issues, I did like his willingness to try and the fact he never gives up on Amy. Even when she deserves it.
Amy annoyed me. I could see why she didn’t want to lose Daniel as a friend after all those years, but once things change between them and it’s going so well, her inability to trust him really got on my nerves.
There is chemistry between them, which does lead to some nicely steamy scenes, but I wasn’t always convinced that these two were really the best of friends. Mostly because of how Amy treats Daniel, which isn’t always very well. Throw in that ending, which is a little rushed and not particularly reassuring in a romantic way, and I found this one okay. This was a good book and a quick read. It was sexy, steamy and the characters were likeable. Daniel is sexy, passionate, sweet and I could go on. He's totally lickable and yummy.
I liked Amy's character except for the fact that she and Daniel have been best friends for over 17 years and she doubts his love and keeps pushing him away. Over and over again. All in all she was still a good character.

Daniel, and Amy have been friends since they were 14. Daniel has always been the love um and leave un type, never holding on to a relationship for long. When Daniel wants to turn their friendship into more, Amy is against it. She can’t ever imagine her life without her friend Daniel in it. She is afraid that if they start to have a relationship or have sex, that he will walk away from her life, and leave her heart shattered in a million pieces. They do kiss, and the attraction they share sizzles. Daniel comes up with a plan to make Amy fall for him. This book has hot and steamy sex in it.
This book was hard for me to get into. The first few chapters was both having feelings for each other, but too afraid to tell the other. If they had been best friends for 14 years, I find they would tell each other everything. The story line itself was good. The chemistry the two shared was off the charts. There were times I got annoyed with both of the characters but I understand how some people find protecting their hearts at times is more important than taking a chance at something wonderful. I really like Jess Dee and I have yet to read a book by her I didn't like! This was no exception. I love the friends to lovers premise so I knew this would be a good one. Daniel has been in love with his bff Amy for years, but it takes the words of a sick 10 year old to make him realize he needs to stop wasting time and finally claim Amy and tell her how he feels. The problem, Amy. He knows she's been hurt by the men in her life in the past and that it'll take some serious moves to convince her they can be happy together. So, with the help of his sister and a friend, he develops a scheme to get Amy to open her eyes and see what's right in front of her. I really liked Daniel and I thought he was a good guy and I was rooting for him the entire time. Amy was ok. There were a few parts where her reluctance to believe Daniel actually wanted more from her, and some of the things she said to him kinda irked me. I could see where she was coming from but still... However, in the end she finally came to her senses and they got their hea! :-) A great read with some pretty steamy parts.

What kind of man loves a woman for 17 years without telling her and when she questions his commitment, he responds with 'that's why I went through women like they were kleenex, because I was in love with you'? I'd advise him not to let the door hit him in the ass on his way out. This is not a shy, bashful or insecure about his looks kind of man.
If I was on the receiving end of this guys 'love' I'd have serious concerns about his mental health. I think this is to date the most implausible friends to lovers I have read.
Actually this was well written and very funny at times, but just such an appalling bad story.

If you like reading friends to lovers books, then this story is for you! This was such a scorching hot read.
Daniel Tanner has been in love with his best friend Amy Morgan since they were teenagers. But Amy has had terrible luck with men. Her dad cheated repeatedly on her mom before they divorced, and that left her wary. Add to her most recent breakup when her boyfriend that she was in love with, did the same. Now Amy's gun shy about men. She knows that she can only depend on Daniel's constant friendship.
Daniel is a big ladies man. He's commitment-phobic. He never stays with a women longer than a few weeks. Amy adores him, yes she thinks he's gorgeous, but she knows his history with women and she'd rather stay his best friend than be discarded after a few weeks.
After some careful planning on Daniel's end, his plans to seduce Amy without her even realizing it begins. He even enlists help from his sister, Lexie, and another woman to make it look real.
Only he never expects his terrible dating history to tear them apart after he finally ends up in Amy's bed. Can he show her that she's always been "the one" for him? Or is she too stubborn to see it in time?
