Talented engineer, Gia Flynn, finds herself in the middle of a tug of war two billionaires are playing with her. Her family’s financial security is cemented if she stays with Damien Markov, a Russian Space Industry Magnate. Her heart belongs to Ryker Crawford, another Space Industry Magnate from America. Who will she choose or will the race to get to Mars leave her alone on Earth?
Ryker Crawford is a new billionaire who’s taken over the CEO position of his dearly departed grandfather’s company, Apollo Engineering. Gia Flynn is a young woman who’s a talented engineer. She’s been lying dormant for three years as she’s become the girlfriend of space engineering magnate, Damian Markov. When Ryker lays eyes on her at a fundraiser, he finds her boyfriend ignoring her as he pays attention to his cell phone instead of the young, dark haired beauty. Can Ryker lure the brilliant woman away from the Russian Billionaire?
Gia Flynn is a MIT graduate who hasn’t used her college degree in some time (3 yrs to be precise). Once she met Damien and sold her invention to his company, he ended up making her apart of his life and she became his. Then she became ignored , a pretty toy to be played with only when the need was there. Ryker’s is the CEO of Apollo Engineering and is known as a playboy but when he spots a beautiful women sitting at a table being ignored by her date, he knows that he has to have her. Something about her calls to him. Thing is, she is sitting with his competitor. The bigger issue was being able to get Gia to finally think for herself instead of allowing Damien to do that for her. Also to realize that she is a beautiful, smart and sexy woman instead of the empty and pretty little box that Damien has her thinking she is. Ryker’s determined to get Gia to realize she is a passionate and sexy woman who is Just as smart and intelligent as him. Once Ryker’s get her to see that, well then , it’s a level playing field for Ryker and Gia in the relationship sweepstakes and away they go . This is a box set of 10 novellas and the novellas flowed pretty smoothly although there were a few times were there was some mild confusion over who was doing what was with whom. To note, Both male leads are billionaires and are powerful. But only one of the male leads is a jerk and cheats on Gia. This is sort of a love triangle wrapped into a love story around two billionaires and a genius female engineer. Who gets the girl and who gets to be the first settlers on the Planet Mars, and start a family? Well, take a chance and read a complex and fascinating book about the alpha males and one woman who wants only one man whose body and mind crave this love.

Gia Flynn is a MIT graduate who hasn’t used her education for the past three years. Once she met Damien and sold her invention to his company, he made her his. She’s been his ignored arm candy for too long.
Ryker’s is the CEO of Apollo Engineering after the death of his beloved grandfather is known for his playboy ways but when he spots a beautiful women sitting at a table being ignored by her date, he knows he wants her. Now all he has to do if figure out how to get her away from his competitor about to become partner in the race to live on Mars.
Turned out his bigger problem was actually to get Gia to start thinking for herself again. To get her to realize that she was beautiful, smart, and stronger than she imagined. Once Ryker’s get her to see that, she is off to the races and is an equal for Ryker.
This is a box set of 10 novellas. The books flowed quite smoothly for the most parts but as you got closer to the end of the books/chapters there were large time gaps that left me feeling like the author was looking for closure of the loose ends. I’m not a huge fan of this style of writing, had I realized it was a series of novellas, I probably would have skipped reading it. I’m sure that is influencing my overall impression of the book. At the same time, the writing was good and I plan on looking for other books writing by Ms. Love, just hopefully, I can find a full novel.
I really wanted to like this one, but there were just things and parts that made me contemplate not finishing a few times.
First, the commas. Dear. God. The commas. So many awkwardly placed commas when they weren't needed. The excessive breaks and interruptions made the story very stilted and honestly, difficult for me to read. I kept getting pulled out of the story by my mental editing. I will say, however, that it improved throughout the story and wasn't such an issue later on. (Or maybe I became accustomed to it? I think it's the former, but that's a possibility, too.)
The dialogue was awkward for me in the beginning. Some of it came off as too proper and forced, I felt like the style would've been better suited to a story from centuries ago.
I liked Ryker. He was the only character I actually liked for most of the book. In the beginning, Gia was a doormat and sort of shallow. I didn't blame Ryker for getting fed up with it. I almost through my kindle at the wall when she took Damien's deal. Honest, it infuriated me that much for her to be so easily manipulated. She was like a ping-pong ball; Damien's right, no wait Ryker is, oh no Damien just said three words to me, he's right again, I'm too stupid to think for myself, blah blah. I realize her character had to be vulnerable in order for some parts of the story to work, but I had no respect for her. I didn't care what happened to her as long as I didn't have to keep reading scene after scene of her bouncing around. And ****SPOILER ALERT**** Damien informs Gia he has slept with a prostitute, obviously with no protection, continues to sleep with her weekly, and Gia continues to sleep with him, too? With not a mention of his lack of consideration of giving her an STD??? That was infuriating.
Overall, there was just too much going on. I think it would've done better as two or three separate novels/novellas.

This is one of the first books that I have read from Michelle Love. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book and was part of this ARC program. This book is more about people wanting to get to MARS to live someday. So you have very smart engineers working on making this a reality. In the meantime, you have 2 men that are both in this industry. Both having the same goal and decide to work together to get there. You have Ryker who is the CEO of Apollo Engineering who had the idea of boosters to help get there. Then you Damien who is the Russian that has a signed contract with Ryker for his company to make these. When they meet for the first time, Ryker is very attracted to Gia who is "with' Damien. So in other words you have a triangle of people who have feeling for each other. Are the feelings real? Will they really get to MARS? Will life be good to them? Will their relationships last when one wants to go to MARS and the other wants to stay? If I gave you the answers to all of these questions, then you would'nt purchase the book. If you like a love story with a few bends and curves then you will most definitely like this one and must purchase it.
This is the first book I have read by Michelle Love. This series of books took me a while to read because the story did not really draw me into it. The story is too drawn out, could have gotten to the end of the story sooner. Gia's personality changed depending on who she was with. She was an intelligent woman, but not if she was going to change for a man. This story is set on the planet Mars which could have been more interesting if the story was well written. The male leads are billionaires, that are smart, hot, and sexy and they were vying for the Gia's affection. The men were opposite in personalities. This is a love story with two men and one female which had some drama and suspense.

I didn't like Gia's character. I don't like characters being so wish-washy. Any woman who would willingly stay with a man that just told you he has cheated on you for the entire time you have been seeing him. Oh and he has a son with her and they meet weekly to have sex because he doesn't like to leave people unsatisfied. And then he tells you that the only reason you are around is for a shield. He wants to move them into your house. But it's ok for him to treat you that way because he takes care of your whole family (that are physically capable of doing it themselves but don't. But then you get mad at the guy trying to help you and who loves you. Really?

3.5 stars Really liked the mix of genres - romance, scifi, fantasy - it was a unique approach which worked for me. I did have trouble connecting with the characters which is my reason for only 3.5 stars. It jumped around a little too much for me. I think that is why I had trouble connecting The plot was there, the characters strong, just did not click completely for me. I honestly would recommend this series though, all in all it was a good read. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. WOW!!! This was a great series box set. I have loved every book by Michelle Love that I have read and this was no exception. I loved the characters in this story and didn't want to put the book down until I was done. Grab yourself a copy today.
This was a different story than I'm used to reading. I wasn't sure what to think of the whole going to Mars concept. I loved Gia's character. Ryker was a great character as well. Damien was another story. Didn't care for him too much at first, but by the end he grew on me. I really likes this story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Michelle Love is a favorite author of mine to read so I was happy to read and review this for her. While I'm not really into the whole space thing I was able to enjoy the story for its plot and characters.
Gia is a Woman who thinks of her family before herself, even to the point of being with a man named Damien as his girlfriend just until he goes to Mars, after that he promises to make sure her family and her are well taken care of after he leaves Earth, but at what cost? Ryker is a guy who doesnt do relationship or love but one night when he see's Gia for the first time something in him changes and he is willing to do whatever it takes to get her to leave her unhappy relationship and be with him with lots of back and forths for what she knows if a for real thing to a not so certain thing.
What I enjoyed most about Focus is watching Ryker seeing the real Gia even if the real her had been hidden and missing for awhile, but not giving up on wanting her to be herself again and to use her brilliant brain and treating her like she has never been treated by any man before. Seeing Gia wanting the best for her family but finally coming to terms that she doesnt want to be in a loveless relationship that the days are numbered on, even if she ends up in another relationship that is a happy lovable one with Ryker she knows she would have at least had whatever time together they could being happy and in love.
This book is great, its a long read but OMG I loved it. This book has a woman who is with a smart man whos mission in life is to be the first group on Mars and not only to visit but to live, Damien makes a great deal with Gia and that is to be his girlfriend to keep his family off his back about Marriage and she stays with him till he leaves and she will get everything, Damien has some secrets tho and when they come to light will Gia be able to live with them? or will she find true love? Gia and Rykers relationship has tons of ups and downs but when true love and your one true soul mate come along they either got to take the chance or let it go. If you like stories like this, then Focus is a must!!
I loved this book. It started out with 2 guys fighting for the same girl. I think the right guy won! The three of them work to become the first humans to live on Mars. Things go good and bad for them on the way to make it happen. Great book!
This is the first book I have read by Michelle Love It took me a while to get into the story because the first half was chopping but around book 6 the romance and suspense pick up a bit. I honestly kept putting this down and then coming back to this because I personally couldn't make a connection with the characters. Just a few things, first this is a ten book story, I personally wished it was a book or two less, Books 6 -10 were the best of the entire story. Second it seemed alot was going on, which was confusing at first. Third the main characters made me crazy at times but not in an exciting way. The herione Gia felt like two different people from the first half to the second half, I understand characters change and grow but I feel her personality was changed to fit which male lead she was with at the time. I wanted to scream at her. Both male leads are billionaires, smart, sexy and centered around becoming the first settlers on Planet Mars, which is a cool idea. Damien was a clueless jerk and Ryker made up for Damien's mistakes. This is a love story wrapped around two billionaires and a genius female engineer. The Billionaire's are trying to be the first settlers on the Planet Mars, win the girl and start a family. I would of enjoyed it more if it was shorter. Overall 3 stars. Happy Reading! Wow!!! Awesome doesn't begin to describe this story. I am extremely glad this story is in its entirety as the entire story is a 1,700+ page set. Ryker is billionaire CEO of one of the most progressive companies that is planning for the colonization of the planet Mars. It is his dream to be one of the first humans on Mars. He plans on working with a Russian company that will make the specialized boosters for the spaceship. Upon meeting Damien, the Russian CEO, he is dumbstruck by Damien's girlfriend Gia. Turns out Gia sold her patent to Damiens company and that it will be used to make nutrients that the humans traveling to Mars will need. In doing this Damien has taken over controlling her thoughts, decisions and body. There is a lot of deceit as well as espionage, intrigue, suspense, jealousy and romance. Ryker wants Gia and more so he wants her to return to the confident engineer she once was. Relationships are a stressful and complicated mess. Ms. Love gave little tid bits throughout so the reader sees who each character really is or pretends to be. It took me a bit longer than usual to read this lengthy book but it was well worth it. I received a complementary copy of this book via Hidden Gems and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.
This story is just a tad different and not necessarily my kind of read but it did keep me intrigued enough to finish it! Two men racing to reach Mars and also win the heart of a woman makes for a bit of an odd concept and at times a struggle to read. Considering Gia is such a talented engineer, she lacks self esteem/worth and this can grate I found as it simply lead to a lot of frustration at her on my part. I also struggled to connect with both Damien and Ryker who to be honest are at times simply annoying! This is certainly not my favourite read and for my first book from Michelle Love will make me think twice about picking up a similar read too soon but, to be honest, I did want to finish the books to see how it ended and so, in my books, this make it worth a try...and just maybe it's the concept rather than the authors overall skill that I struggle with here.

Gia Flynn is an engineer, she developed a pod to help with nutrients on the journey to Mars. Damien Markov is a Russian, a Billionaire, and the CEO of Markov Global. Gia is Markov’s girlfriend and she shifted from the US to live in Russia with him. He is controlling, doesn’t allow her to work and looks after her family financially. Ryker Crawford is a Billionaire, CEO of Apollo Engineering after his grandfather’s death. Apollo Engineering has developed a thruster to help get people to Mars, his company is wanting to build the thruster and is looking at Markov Global. Both men want to live on Mars, Damien doesn’t treat Gia well, and when they meet Ryker is enthralled by Gia. Does Gia leave Damien to pursue her dream of working again? Does Ryker chase and capture Gia’s heart? This book has twists and turns and was a very enjoyable read.
I didn't think I'd like this book at first, but as I read on, it grew on me. I liked the concept of going to Mars, and I loved that Gia was a smart woman, even though she let herself be led around for a few years. Damien ran hot and cold, I didn't like him much until the end, and Ryker was also mercurial, but in the end, the chemistry worked the way it was intended to. It was a longer story as it was a box set of 10 short stories, but it told the tale well, and I liked the surprises and twists. There was some explicit moments, but to me they were spaced out in the book, and it didn't make up the core of the book, although romance definitely factored here. All in all, an enjoyable read, with a space travel story line involving a love triangle. Good book, I'd recommend the author. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I gave this Book a rating of 4 ✩’s Title: Focus: A Bad Boy Billionaire Contemporary Romance Series Kindle Edition Series: A Bad Boy Billionaire Genre: Bad boy Romance, Contemporary Romance Author: Michelle Love Format: Kindle Published on: January 16, 2017
I voluntarily reviewed a Courtesy Advanced Reader Copy of this book >-< >-< >-< >-< >-<>-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< What I liked/Didn’t Like: This was my first book by Michelle Love. It was very interesting and have. I would have given it 5 stars but I felt the book was a bit long altogether. With that said Michelle did an amazing job of keeping the storyline consistent throughout the series. The characters were very likeable as was the storyline
This was another ARC I got to read for a review. I have to be honest it was a little hard to get into for me. I have been trying to read more outside my normal paranormal read and this is outside of that. But I did not like the pacing of this book, but it was not a bad read by any means. I have not read a lot of Contemporary novels but I am working on that. This is book that centers around Gia Flynn and she is an engineer. She is caught between two billionaires as they race to be the first ones to get to Mars. One Russian billionaire and an American billionaire. So who will be the first to Mars and who will get the girl. You will just have to read and find out.
A different storyline and I loved it! Yes, there's a billionaire. Wait, there's two of them. And one heroine in need of a little boost in her self esteem. Mars is where our billionaires want to go but our heroine isn't interested. Until the man for her stirs the fire. Ryker and Damien fight over the brilliant engineer, Gia. Only one man can win. But will they all get to see Mars? A must read.

This story caught me totally off guard. It's brilliant! It has just the right amount of futurism to make it a believable story. (personally, I would never want to go to Mars)
The romance is sizzling. It takes the hero quite a bit of persuasion to make his girl come around. But it makes for a very intriguing story. Needless to say, I loved this story!

Two billionaires, and Gia is stuck between both of them. This series was different to what i was expecting. If you can read beyond the misplaced commas and other punctuation, then it could be a better read - but i found myself pausing a lot and rereading paragraphs. The characters and storyline were OK, but that could just be because its not really my thing. Others may love it.
This is a bizarre story with unforgivable characters. Plus they take stupidity to a whole new level. Gia is weak and brainless, I have zero sympathy for her, but it's like watching a train wreck, you can't turn away from it. Ryker and Damien are so beyond crazy, stupid dirtbags. If the characters were more likable, this would be a great sci-fi story. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest opinion of it.
Focus is a bad boy billionaire romance series by Michelle Love. Gia is caught between two billionaires and making the choice of which to choose. This was a quick read and Michelle love continues to amaze with her writing and story telling techniques. I loved the alpha male dynamic that is evident in this and the interaction between the characters. A good story.
Focus Series by Michelle Love Michelle gave us a great book/series to read, with an interesting story-line, which had characters that fit well together, with their sizzling chemistry. It’s a book/series that keeps you reading till the end. Very enjoyable read. “I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
This was a different story of one person to the others take on what was happening in their life's. I found it a story that once I started I did not want to put it down ! This is one woman's story Gia and the two men in her life Ryker and Damien and their quest to get to Mars.I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This was a different type of romance read for me. Two billionaires wanting to be the first to get to Mars and an sexy engineer not interested at all. Can they all play nice? Probably not but who will win the girl and / or be the first to see Mars? Michelle's writing style make the story flow smoothly - and an enjoyment to read.
I enjoyed the premise of the book - with its attempts and challenges to inhabit Mars. I also really liked how Gia "found herself" again and became such a strong character.
Parts of the story dragged a little and it probably didn't need to be a 10 book series - but overall, I really enjoyed the story.

A alpha billionaire story with an intriguing difference. Ryker and Damien's race to be the first man on Mars and Gia is caught between the two. Who will reach Mars first and get the girl??? I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
