Life on the gentle Amish farm of the Peterschwimms changes dramatically when father dies and the eldest of the four sisters, Emma, has to step in and take the lead. But, Emma’s not so gentle approach leads to a disastrous outcome and spirals her into a deep depression. Then she meets James Connely, who knows all too well what it is like to have messed things up. Grace beyond measure opens the door for love to bring healing and freedom to the embattled Emma, and with it a chance to hope again. This is the first book in a series of four, but can be read as a satisfying standalone.
This was a beautiful story about an Amish girl who struggles to find her faith after a series of set backs in her life and after almost losing the man she'd fallen in love with. It was well written and hard to put down. I would highly recommend it!
Emma and her family suffer a great loss from her father's BC death. They no longer were able to keep the farm.running smoothly. Mother decided that a hired hand was needed. James came to do.the job.
Loved the angst and strife, makes you look much deeper. The family dynamics are so typical but top it off with the grief and misfortune in surprised anyone can survive.
