Nic had no choice but to be himself. The programmer escaped his family and moved to LA for a fresh start when he transitioned. When he runs into the force of nature called Kyle—green hair, garters, and all—Nic is pulled headlong into the center of his world… he’s just not sure he belongs there.
Loud, loving, and unapologetic, Kyle works day and night at his charity and spends the rest of his precious time with his co-parented son. Flings are one thing, but Nic makes Kyle want to hold him forever. And when the chips are down, Nic shows up.
They’ve spent years avoiding the very thing they’re yearning for. But in each other’s arms, they finally feel loved, safe—even free. Can two men who feel like they're not enough and too much find something just right?
Flaunt is the first book in the F-Word series, which features queer found families, characters choosing their own labels, a lot of trans joy, opposites attracting, spice for days, and the happily-ever-afters we all deserve. This novel can be read as a standalone.

E. Davies writes feel-good, low-angst romance that never fades to black when the going gets good! Born in Canada, after 16 moves and counting, Ed has finally put down roots in north London.
He emerges from his writing nest to coo over fuzzy animals, flee from cute guys, dance through the streets with his chosen family, put together fierce looks, and—most of all—befriend local flowers.
I do not recommend that trans folks read this book. I am working on a review, but wanted to put that in as a placeholder for now, as I feel this book is harmful to trans readers.
I’m a trans masc reader who deeply enjoyed most aspects of this book. Considering the top two reviews are one stars from trans reviewers, even calling the story harmful to trans readers, I feel like I should talk about my experience best I can.
The strongest and most resonant part of the book for me is the author’s skill at exploring trauma management, alone and with others. The trauma here includes a sudden, hate-motivated case of property damage during the course of the book that provides fresh trauma for one character especially. But more deeply, and quite commonly for a queer story, both leads manage trauma in the form of ongoing violence from outside sources when they have tried to be themselves. Both were rejected by their families of origin. Both have been paid prices for family rejection. Both still manage the daily impact of others’ responses to their gender/orientation. They quickly and intuitively find an understanding over these similarities, even amongst strong differences.
I resonate most with the trans MC, Nic; his style of managing trauma, like mine, leans toward living more quietly. Playing it safe by flying under the radar. This is important to value as survival wisdom… and also, for some of us, at certain later stages of recovery, we yearn for more. Nic indicates he’s coming to this place of wanting to open up, live freer and less fearfully. And it helps so, so much to have permission from someone to do this, to let our loved ones encourage us to be true to our entire selves, louder parts included. I have found more wholeness in my life when I have allowed trusted loved ones to encourage me to find that louder wholeness and live it. Nic receives this encouragement from his cis partner in the story. It’s my impression that the style of this encouragement is the crux of the concern of some trans readers, so I’m going to talk about it further.
One more piece of context is important here. In a distinct but parallel arc to the one I just described, the cis MC Kyle has survived by being more vocal, more visible, more out and confrontive. He also needs encouragement to accept help from friends and not insist he can do it all himself. The two arcs complement each other marvelously. They both have a "not ready"ness that they need to face. In one of the strongest and most beautiful parallels in the book, Kyle finds the make-up Nic has already bought himself and helps him explore it. And later, Nic helps Kyle face the remains of the building where he and his friend were injured. Both needed help and support to take the next step in feeling whole, and their partner learns how to offer that. I found this tremendously satisfying as a reader.
I understand parts of this could land badly for some trans readers. Sadly, Xan's is the review I care most about, and they have passed on, and are unable to dialogue. But I can guess several concerns. A trans guy pursuing extensive medical intervention, and yet also longing for femme presentation, is not everyone’s place of optimal narrative interest. A cis guy enthusiastically guiding a trans guy into femme presentation is something that’s going to understandably turn some folks off of a cis character. A cis guy conditioning his move-in on the trans guy pushing himself to live more fearlessly is a tricky matter, and there’s not an objective way to do that story correctly. It will vary a lot from reader to reader, and be impossible to do well for some readers. None of this story flirted with coercion or manipulation in the slightest for me. There’s a whole series of cues along the way from the trans MC about his interest in being more femme - and again, he’s quiet, but for me they were so obviously THERE - and I believe the cis MC reads them correctly and skillfully. The exploration is a wholeness and joy for the trans MC, confirmed in his inner monologue. And this kind of relating is *exactly* what I want in a romance. But certainly, if you don’t experience the trans character as driving the action, or don’t experience the cis lead as reading the trans MC carefully, or if you feel this is a larger statement about trans mascs just wanting permission to wear make-up, this will read poorly.
Personally, I felt seen by it all. It felt truthful to me. The two MCs understand themselves and their own identities better for knowing each other. They see each other deeply, and support each other with behavior that isn’t always the easiest path forward. For me, it’s a beautiful story.
The aspects I liked less than all the above were primarily twofold. First, dicks are referred to as “manhood” about a dozen times, by both characters. There’s an argument to be made for it within the framework of the story, I suppose. I’m just not that fond of the choice. The second is that the book is about 15% crime thriller, discovering who the arsonist was. It’s fine, it’s quick and it supports the trauma work of the main characters. I wouldn’t call either element objectively bad, they’re just not my thing. Those are the primary reasons that I haven’t given it 5 stars. The relationship itself is sensitive, satisfying, and hot.
*** As with E. Davies style, we see snarky, fun characters, and much more. We sure learn a few new facts about transgender men ! Adorable and bright Kyle, works for a gay charity, Plus, for men. They handle educational help, counseling, and outreach. Nic in his suits, a transgender man, is a programmer assigned to help the charity get more from their site, by customizing their computer.
They meet at the charity to discuss what they want and what kind or program would help. Later they end up clubbing with friends and co-workers, and sneak off for some hot, uninhibited sex. Kyle is very accepting of Nic's differences and embraces them. Nic and Kyle have deeper feelings than they expected, but Kyle has a one-time rule. He's been hurt and has his 4 yr. old son, Kevin to consider. I loved the sweet kid and his Mom, Evie. Our characters are lively and capture our attention. The story is well written and informative, romantic and heartwarming.
After the fire at Plus, Nic invites Kyle to stay with him, so he can care for him and keep him safe. Their sexy times become more intense and their relationship expands. Pasts are revealed. The arsonist is a shock, plus there is the violence, threat, and rescue, too.
We get a heart warming tale, lots of information, and a happy epilogue. It's marvelous. Highly recommended. ENJOY !
Nic first real task in his new job is to help set up a new website for an HIV charity. And yeah, he gets a bit lost on the way, but things start to look up when he meets Kyle, one of the organizers for the charity and Nic’s main contact there. Kyle is flashy and fun…and not afraid to slip into a skirt and some makeup if the mood takes him. Something that Nic still finds a bit terrifying after a childhood of being raised as a girl. The two even strike it off right from the start, trading flirtaious looks and comments…but Nic is unsure that Kyle would want someone so quiet and shy, and Kyle is not exactly looking for anything more than a night and a few good memories. Neither can deny though that when they are in the room together things get hot.
When I went looking for books to review for this month in the huge backlog of my tbr on goodreads, I came across this book and realized that I totally missed its release back at the beginning of the year. If you know anything about me, it is that I love stories with transgender characters, and this one looked like a lot of fun to read. And I’ve read several books by this author before and like them, so I was more than willing to give this one a chance.
By not even two chapters into this book I was totally in love, too. I completely bonded with Nic and his Target Experiences (someday I will tell you all the tale of my first attempts buying “guy” clothes at Target–it involved me wandering around the men’s section with a phone pressed up to my ear like I was some type of spy or something–and we will laugh together) and Kyle’s interactions with his kid about clothes and being themselves were awesome. And I don’t even really care for kids at all. When I find one in a story that doesn’t bug me, I am more than happy.
The situations in this book hardly break the mould (mold? molde? I swear I can never remember which one is which), but I enjoyed every page of this book because the characters were so well written. I don’t normally have a problem liking trans characters because of our shared histories, but there was so much of Nic’s story that mirrored my own that I found myself cackling to myself going…yep, I totally do that. And despite the fact you couldn’t pay me to wear a dress or put on makeup (lies, all lies, I will totally do it for the right amount of money) again, Kyle’s ease at being himself no matter what he wears was very refreshing.
My only real gripe here is that I’m not sure I buy the whole twist at the end. I don’t want to spoil it, but let’s just say it required a bit too much of a leap for me to buy that the thing that happens in the middle of the book would have been done by the person at the end. I know, super vague. Sorry. Or maybe that I could totally buy them doing it, just not based entirely off the few small scenes they are in over the course of the story. I needed a bit more, not just this person is an asshole so of course they’d totally do something so heinous. A lot of people are assholes, I just wanted some type of trigger which pushed them from asshole to criminal assholery.
That being said (in a way that was probably no help to anyone), I really liked this story and totally recommend it. It has some great characters, and despite a few bumps in the road it is a kinda light read.

I enjoyed this book. I haven't read a lot of m/m books with trans men but so far I haven't been disappointed. However, this is definitely my favorite because both characters, Kyle and Nic, were very secure in themselves, sexually and in their gender identity. I like how Evie and Kyle were raising Kevin to be a kid and be himself. The sex scenes with Nic and Kyle were so hot. E. Davies really knocked it out of the park with this one.
This is an opposites attracts story. Quiet, shy, somewhat nervous Nic Montero meets loud, proud, not at all shy Kyle Everett. When we meet both men each is harboring a secret. We know very quickly into the story that Nic is transgender and he fears telling anyone, especially Kyle.
Kyle is so wonderful. He's a great father. He really adores his son. His "out there" attitude is so much the polar opposite of Nic's. But my grandmother once said, "People with the deepest secrets are like magicians. They rely on the fanfare to distract you from the truth." That's Kyle. And getting to Kyle's secrets took a lot longer.
I admired both of these characters and love how they were written. They had an instant attraction to each other. But a somewhat slow burn in many ways. Kyle's attitude toward Nic's confession was beyond words awesome. I pretty much knew it would be just by seeing how Kyle handles all things.
E. Davies' writing is really wonderful. Terrific characters with incredible depth and emotion. He managed to work in some mystery and drama to really amp up this love story... and a love story it is. The amount of research and understanding that the author must have done made this book shine and there was a high level of respect for it. With Nic having gone through transition surgery we learn a lot about the whole process. I found it to be incredible as I didn't know as much as I thought I did. So, props to the author.
I wanted to like this book becuase I've enjoyed the books I have read by E. Davies but sadly it was a miss for me. While I liked Nic, I felt Kylie was a bit pushy and his "issues" with not wanting a relationship fell flat. Overall while I read the whole thing I was a bit bored and wouldn't recommend it to my friends.
Side Note: I have only read a few books with Trans characters and and I am far from a knowledgable on the matter but for some reason while reading this it didn't seem accurate. There was a lot of informati0n from Nics character about transitions for a female to male that didn't line up with what I knew on the subject and after reading a review from a Trans reviewer my instincts were right. I highly recommend reading their review
3.5 stars. The trans male rep in this book was so wonderful. By far the best part of the book. Loved the discussions about bottom surgery for trans men and Nic coming out of his shell with his appearance and breaking the binary he felt he had to conform to. Some reviews took this aspect very negatively but I recommend reading other reviews here if you want more information. At the end of the day, every trans persons experience is different.
The romance felt very lackluster though, and it is overall still a romance book, hence the rating not being higher.
I always hear the phrase 'cookie-cutter characters' I never understood it until now. That what I felt while reading this. I never connected to this at all and I feel bad about it.
This was a fabulous book. I am a big fan of E. Davies' writing style, and he does not disappoint with this book. This was a great story about a man, Nic, who is transgender. Nic is working to overcome some of his fears about entering a relationship and reconciling his desire to be a bit feminine while still appearing masculine and not be mistaken for a woman. We also get a glimpse at the struggles in Nic's mind as he considers the phalloplasty surgery. Nic meets Kyle who is a bit more flamboyant and sure of himself on the outside, but a bit more reserved and careful on the inside. He has a child, and his son is his priority. I loved watching these guys overcome some of their barriers in order to get together, and then continue to grow together as a couple. Loved this book.
Edited to add audiobook review--So I listened to this, and the book remains amazing, even after almost 2 years have passed. I loved the characters and their journey together. The narration wasn't my favorite of all the books, but it was still good. Joel Leslie portrayed the voices a bit breathy, but I can see it fitting with the characters.
I'm voluntarily reviewing a free advance reader copy I received from the author.
This is a good story, but (potential spoiler) I can't help but raise my eyebrows at an employee for an aids charity foregoing protection on his first encounter with someone he's known for 5 minutes. This is the kind of thing that can really put me off a book.

Kyle works at an HIV charity and is very out of the closet. He knows what he likes and he isn't afraid to go after it. He wears his hair and make-up how he wants, dresses how he wants and makes no apologies to anyone. Kyle's life revolves around his job and his son. When his best friend wanted to have a child and couldn't get approved due to her age, Kyle agreed to father her child. Kyle doesn't date or bring men around his son, so he has a long history of one night stands. When the charity he works for needs a software upgrade, he meets Nic, someone he's instantly attracted to.
Nic is the complete opposite of Kyle. He's quiet and tries to blend into the background and not draw attention to himself. Nic is transgender, has worked hard to get the successful life he's now living. He's attracted to Kyle but isn't willing to compromise his job by mixing business with pleasure. But then, since it's a small world, Nic agrees to go out one night with co-workers, only to find out that the co-worker that invited him is Kyle's best friend. He goes home with Kyle and they agree it will be one night. When the charity Kyle works at is attacked, Nic takes Kyle home with him and the men find out that there's more between them than a one night stand.
This is the first book I've read with a transgender character, and though I have no experience, I thought the author did a great job in the storytelling. He allowed the reader to understand the experiences Nic has faced and the decisions that Nic still has to face. And, I really enjoyed the social normative behaviors that were focused on, for example, Nic had worked hard to be masculine and it was a real struggle for him to wear a pink shirt, even though he wanted to, as he didn't want to come across as not being masculine. I also really enjoyed Kyle's reaction to finding out Nic was transgender, there wasn't one. Kyle is open minded and non-judgemental, which is really refreshing.
Something that I was taken aback by was Kyle and Nic having unprotected sex the first time they were together, and then follow that up with the second time and how Kyle says that protected sex is a habit. It made no sense to me that he would pick Nic up at a bar and have unprotected sex, but then when they get to know each other better, protection is a habit. Plus, Kyle works for an HIV charity providing education to others, he should know better! Overall, I thought this was an enjoyable story that discussed a lot of important topics, and a great start to a new series.
> > Judging a Book by it's Cover < < Two men in a sweetly passionate embrace in different stages of undress. Strong font choices. Solid synopsis. > > Looking Deeper < < POV ~> Third-person New-hire Nic was assigned to develop an updated software program for PLUS, an LGBTQ charity organization. Kyle was the lead employee at Plus (After Denver, the boss). It was his job to make sure this new program was going to make their lives easier and run smoother at the office and for the organization. Both had secrets, baggage, issues. Neither was perfect but they were darn-near perfect for each other. A workplace incident brought the guys closer faster and helped both to work through some of their own hangups. Secondary characters were varied and most were enjoyable. Every good story needs one or two unlikable cast, though, and E Davies provided that to us as well. The chemistry was nice; though it was there from the beginning, their “bond” progressed slowly, naturally. Dialogue and interaction was believable most of the time. There were conflicts which were resolved before the end. Predictability was mediocre. I’d suspected the bad guy and actually thought I may have pegged one of the accomplices, but I’ll never know since only the main bad guy was identified. Writing style was fluid and the story was paced nicely. It was a very enjoyable read with an implied HEA or HFN ending. Perhaps we’ll see more of these two in the background of book 2, FREAK (River’s story). . Rating: [R] ~ Score: 4.175 ~ Stars: 4 Warning: Bullying and a Hate Crime is included in this story. Nothing overly graphic or blatant, but enough to warrant a warning for more sensitive readers. ========================== ⭐ ⭐ **** Disclosure of Material: I borrowed a copy of this book via my #KindleUnlimited subscription and am voluntarily leaving unbiased and unsolicited feedback. This is a great start to what should be a great series. The writing is good…a bit different for me and a couple of times I had to re-read a sentence or two for clarification. The story was really interesting and unlike anything else I’ve read.
This is only my second book with a trans MC. Nic is post-transition and the other book I read was mid-transition. He still struggles with self-confidence and tries to hide himself from the world. Something I would normally find insignificant – wearing only neutral colored clothing – means something to Nic, as does having the confidence to wear bright or non-neutral colors. He is shy and quiet, happy to just sit back and observe life instead of living right in the middle of it. He is adorably sweet and has a lot of love to give to the right person.
Kyle is Nic’s exact opposite. He is flamboyant and boisterous. He seems to be unafraid of anything and everything and living life to the fullest. Unfortunately, some of that is an act. He’s been made to feel like he’s too much for most people and as such is afraid to be open with anyone or let anyone get too close. He is actually pretty perfect for Nic when he lets his guard down. They truly bring out the best in each other.
River’s story is coming up next and that stands to be even better than this story. River is a bit of a character himself! I hope we get more of Nic and Kyle in that book also as we’re not quite done with them yet
Definitely a great read with lots of emotions that I highly recommend! OH, and I LOVE the cover!
First of all I loved how real Nic's depiction was in this story. I really felt like I understood what he was dealing with in figuring out how to be comfortable with all aspects of himself. The fact that he was trans, as comfortable with that as he was, it made him question so many other things. Even though Kyle seems to have so much more confidence and be so sure of himself, he too had his own insecurities. I really enjoyed seeing these two get to know each other. I felt like Kyle's acceptance, in such an easy manner, of Nic telling him he was trans really helped to strengthen the potential of their relationship. It gave Nic a safe space for maybe the first time.
I liked Kyle's group of friends as well. They added a nice group of secondary characters. Of course Kevin was adorable was well. If anything was a little wonky it felt like the hate crimes element was a little forced. It wasn't hard to figure out who the villain was, but it didn't really add much to the story overall except to force Kyle to accept Nic's help a little sooner.
Still I enjoyed this story and want to continue on with the series. I know I read the second book in the series years ago, but I'll probably re-read it to continue the series and the story in order this time around. :)
I’ve read this previously and just listened to the audiobook narrated by Joel Leslie, and it was wonderful. I loved Kyle and Nic when I read the book and it was so great to hear them brought to life. Both Nic and Kyle have past trauma from growing up with families and partners who couldn’t accept them. Nic is starting a new life in LA, fully transitioned and feeling good about himself…mostly. There’s still aspects of himself that he struggles with, and he’d really like to find love. Kyle has sworn off dating, nothing more than one night stands. He’s been told he’s too much, too femme, too loud. With a son to worry about and his charity job, he’s got his hands full anyway. He doesn’t need a boyfriend. When work brings these two together, they are instantly attracted to each other. With Nic wanting more and Kyle resistant to give in, they’re at a standstill. Then a tragic event brings them closer, and both men end up confronting some demons, and they’ll have to get through their own struggles to make this work. -Workplace romance -One night stand to lovers -Trans rep -A hilarious child! -Great side characters
Glad I read this after reading Freak, it was just as good and it didn't matter that I read them out of order. It was interesting to read what Nic had gone through to become the person that he felt comfortable with. It must have been hard without someone like Kyle to support him through the changes so I am pleased that they found each other.
Cute skirts, a cute kid and some lip gloss are elements of the Nic & Kyle love story. I have an affinity for stories about quirky personalities and people who brave the human spectrum. Flaunt qualifies on both counts. I liked the MCs, co-characters and the sensitive handling of transitioning. A sweet romantic story. One caveat: the antagonist as the culprit read a bit contrived. It didn’t quite match previous behavior. Rating: 3 1/2⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is the first book by this author and I wanted to read this one first because I love books dealing with Transgender...I loved this..Nic and Kyle seemed to fit together so well...A fairly easy read and I loved the authors way of writing..The only reason i'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 is that slight niggle I have that other reviewers seemed to have had..the no use of condoms when they first get together...Someone who works for an HIV charity would not go bare with a stranger....But saying that I still loved it and I will definitely be reading more from this author x
The story centers mostly on the relationship between Nic and Kyle. The chapters are short (about 10 pages or so per chapter) and flip-flop between third person narration from Nic and Kyle’s perspectives. I thought this delivery worked super well as it allows the reader to really get acquainted with both characters and understand, from the get-go, what their hang ups are and why. Even though I never really got the angst-high from reading about the action from only one character’s perspective, both Nic and Kyle have plenty of things to angst over with themselves.
Speaking of the hang ups, we learn that Nic’s worries over passing as a man started with his family rejecting him for being trans (and gay? this is never really explored on page, just summed up as “yup, they rejected Nic”). Given his physical limitations as a man (he’s had bottom surgery, but not a full phalloplasty), Nic fears Kyle might only be interested in him for the novelty factor. When it becomes clear that Kyle is definitely into Nic for Nic, however, a whole different kind of baggage comes out of the woodwork: is Nic brave enough to act on his curiosity to explore a latent feminine side.
Yeah. That was Nic’s big thing, once he realized Kyle wasn’t just humoring the trans guy. It’s pretty awesome to see Nic mulling over his desire to wear more flamboyant clothing, even skirts and makeup like Kyle does, without it threatening the masculinity he’s worked so hard to develop.
DNF @ 37% ~ Maybe as a cishet female I’m not entitled to an opinion on this but I couldn’t finish this book. I’ve read 100s of M/M books, so it’s not like I have an issue with two dudes getting it on. However, a LOT of this felt very clinical and textbook to me, like someone was trying to do a “what it’s like to be trans info dump”. That took away from my ability to connect with the characters and become invested in the plot. It seemed semi-useful except that I looked up a few things trying to figure out how they worked and minimally the assertion that Nic could ejaculate is not possible.
Also, under WTF?!?!? ~ having unprotected sex with some one you JUST met while working for an LGBT health organization. Are you kidding me?
I mean, it wasn’t a 1 Star because the author can put together cohesive thoughts, spells correctly, etc. And allowing that maybe part of the problem was me... but I couldn’t finish.
I loved Kyle and Nic’s relationship. Kyle had to learn that he won’t always send a guy running with his outwardness and baggage. He sees that in Nic is someone to hold onto for the long haul. I have enjoyed a few transgender stories and this one is no different. I am glad that Nic is able to find support from those around him in his new life.
I received this story in exhange for an honest review.
This is my first book by this author and I will continue with these books. I had many emotions reading this book happy and sad to name a couple....
But ~~it was a book with special characters Kyle and Nic who invaded my head my heart my everything.. I so loved this book that I devoured it through the night ... and reliving the story during the day...
Their sexual adventures were written beautifully the guys just touched and the sparks flew—— so much more than 5 stars...
I think I liked this even better the second time through. Both Nic and Kyle are fantastic people, and they deserve all the support in the world to be their authentic selves. Love this series and this author!
This book was amazing. Such a beautiful celebration of being who you are and learning to love yourself while falling in love with someone else. Perfection.
Flaunt review This is a really really gorgeous book. I enjoyed it so much. It’s so refreshing to read a story with a main character who is trans. There are so few books with trans people out there. It was beautiful.. this is a story I want to celebrate. Kyle is a father of a four year old boy who he co-parents with his friend and mother of his child Evie. He is very femme and flamboyant and he’s super sexy. He was kicked out of his house after graduating school for being gay. He has an insecurity about money. He is also someone who is afraid of relationships. Nic is a trans man who is an introvert and a complete geek. He excels in computer stuff and that’s what kept him fed since he left home. He now has an amazing career and he’s very well off.. Nic’s character stole my heart.. he’s totally adorkable... well I’m very much in love with Kyle too. Since that first meeting between Kyle and Nic the UST was sizzling. Kyle works at a charity for HIV+ gay people called Plus. Nic is sent by his company to Plus to do work on their computer filing and stuff and that’s how they meet. Nic immediately finds Kyle very attractive. He also loves Kyle’s confidence. Kyle dresses flamboyantly, often in a blouse, skirt and tights. He always oozes confidence. Nic cannot stop thinking about Kyle. For Kyle on the other hand, even though he is strictly a no relationship kind of guy his mind keeps popping back to Nic. It just so happens that Evie ( Mother of Kyle’s child) works at the same office as Nic. Nic who is really looking to make friends is very thrilled when Evie invites him out for drinks with friends. Obviously, he meets Kyle there and sparks fly. I love how Kyle finds the courage to go dance with Nic.. Ughh that dance was all types of $€XY. The $€X that follows was OMG brilliant and so hott. I love Kyle for is reaction or lack of reaction when Nic revealed that he was trans.. so much respect to the both of them. I love how Kyle makes Nic feel attractive and handsome and vice versa. My heart broke when Nic asks Kyle out again n he says no because of his fear of relationships. But Nic handles the rejection with so much grace and class. I love their blossoming feelings for each other. I love that their feelings for each other kept growing. Four year old Kevin is completely adorable n I love how well Nic gets along with Kevin. I also love what an amazing dad Kyle is. How he takes care and dotes on his son is totally heart warming. When the fire happens and Kyle rescues Denver and himself I was so relieved but also really affronted by the gall of those haters who could do something like this. They set the building on fire knowing that there were people inside. OMG.. it’s scary. Hate crimes scare me and break my heart. I’m so glad Nic was there to take care of Kevin during that time. And I also love that he offered to take Kyle back to his place. My heart broke for Kyle and his insecurity about Nic being rich. I love how Nic made him so comfortable. But what I love the most is that when Nic realised what was really bothering Kyle and that it was money, he went ahead and told Kyle his story no matter how vulnerable it made him feel. I also love that Kyle trusted him enough to share his story with Nic as well. I love the domestic bliss and the tons of $£X that follows. I love how they get closer, fall for each other harder. And I love how a time comes that a relationship between them becomes inevitable. The first time Nic says I love you my heart fluttered and I wasn’t disappointed at that point when Kyle didn’t reciprocate the sentiment. Because I knew he would be ready soon. When the office homophobe and bully attacks Kyle I was so happy and relieved that Nic was there to save the day. Kyle feeling overwhelmed because no-one had ever fought for him or stood up for him till that moment both broke my heart and warmed me. I was so excited when Kyle agreed to permanently move in with Nic and let’s him know that they are in-fact in a relationship. That Nic was his.. my heart soared.. they are such a sweet couple so in love and completely adorable.. loved this book so much . I’m so glad there’s a whole series of this for me to explore.. what an amazing start to the series. I give this book 5 big fat stars out of 5
