Tex is a lonely wolf shifter, resigned to the fact that he is a monster and undeserving of companionship. Lilla has her own pain trying to make a life for her daughter and herself, away from her abusive ex husband. The chemistry between them is electric but Tex worries how Lilla may react when she sees his animal side. Amazing story. Very entertaining. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five stars.

This was a good start to the series. I enjoyed reading about Tex and how he overcomes loss. I also enjoyed the heroine. Even though she actually gets hit by her soon to be ex, Tex protects her as she figures out how to go on with a good life with just her child and letting someone new in.

Great read
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the storyline, and I especially loved the characters. Tex was a pure sweetheart, and I loved that Kills was a strong independent mom. They made a great couple. I'm ready for the next book.

Maybe I have read too many shifter stories but this one seems quite similar to the others. A mother with a child she wants to protect from her abusive ex, mets up with a man and just agrees to have coffee out with him. She is not looking for anyone. Nor is he - Tex - because he has learned the hard way that some ladies freak out when he shifts into a wolf.
But if you need some physical help to shelter from an abuser, maybe a wolf shifter would be handy.
I did get along with the characters so enjoy the romance. Suitable for adults or mature teen readers.

FIERY PASSION ON CUPID'S DAY!
Cupid’s arrow finds its mark; electricity sparks when Lilla and Tex touch. An intriguing story with powerful vivid scene descriptions, suspense, action, humor, passionate sensuous romance and a happy ever after when the obstacles are conquered.
Tex had thought he found his forever love (a human), but she bolted at the sight of his wolf. Not really interested in a she-wolf he has not dated since the breakup. Lilla is separated from her abusive husband who thinks he can win her back with his notorious ways. She also has an adorable little girl that she needs to keep safe. A Valentine’s date catapults Lilla into a whole new world.
Romantic fast-paced well-written read that keeps you turning pages until the end. The story is mixed with a reality and fantasy; the author shows that Lilla exiting her marriage due to abuse showed great courage. Tex and Lilla blend well together and their romance is filled with fiery passion and devotion. Tex certainly has an alpha persona, but his tender side shines and he is is a most valiant hero. I found this to be a enjoyable read. {I was gifted this book and voluntarily reviewed it.} Without reservations, I recommend this book.

I love bed the story of Tex and Lilla. Tex takes her out on a date and doesn't realize it is Valentines Day. They are having a great time until her ex shows up. Tex and Lilla spend the night in his cabin but they have a surprise when he takes her home. Her ex is waiting and drunk.

Two souls burned by those they thought loved them are drawn to one another by fate. When an ex makes himself a nuisance our hero sends him on his way. The author portrays the heroine as strong and brave and committed to enjoying life her way and not as a victim.
