Ethan Hades

Rate this book
Ethan Hades falls into the god category . . . though the myths surrounding Hades are far different than the truth of who he really is. God of the Underworld is just one of his many responsibilities. After spending centuries alone, a scapegoat for anything and everything that goes wrong in the world, he’s given up on life. He gave up on love way before that.

Until one day a woman he can’t ignore walks into his life. They have nothing in common—that she’s mortal being is only one of the many differences between them. Holland Corbin is everything Ethan has been waiting an eternity to find. One problem—she’s hell-bent on keeping him as far away from her as possible and looks at him like he’s the devil himself. Which, okay, she has good instincts.

He might have to move heaven and hell to get her to accept and admit her feelings for him. He might have to forfeit his own infinite existence to be with her. He might have to stand in contempt of the only set of laws he’s ever followed. But he will. He’d give everything to be with her, and he just might be forced to pay that exact price.

Now here was something I had never read until now!!! Kat Austen sure gave us something new and refreshing, because I read PLENTY about history of all Gods in multiple religions, specially this one, of Ancient Greece, but never before in a smutty sweetness point of view, and wasn’t that the most delicious surprise!!!

Ethan Hades is every bit of arrogant and all things HOT that he’s truly entitle to be – he is after all the god of the underworld, lol – but upon meeting the straight laced, pragmatic and workaholic Dr. Holland Corbin, that apparently doesn’t bat an eyelash to him – first time ever for him – let’s just say he’s taken down a peg or two… Ok, not really!!!

He instantly feels that Holland is special to him somehow, and the more he analyzes those feelings the more he realizes that she may be his One!

There’s just one obstacle, – since he has no doubt that he’ll make Holland fall in love with him, lol – her mortality. But for her he’s willing to give up everything, even his own imortality and power!

Holland of course tried to resist the best she could, but come on, really, it was a lost battle, because it was a lost battle from the start, because honestly, who could resist a freakin’ god?!

It was a deliciously little read, with some of-the-charts, turn-on-your-fans sex scenes and a sugary sweet insta-love story to leave feeling warm and tingly in all the right places. The only down and hence why a didn’t give it my usual Kat Austen five smutty stars, was the question of her mortality against his immortality and how it was solved – or unsolved – in the end. This is after all fiction at its best so instead of that epilogue, that was bittersweet and left me kind of sad, I wanted a full on Happy Ever After in all its glory were all the potential and escapism from our realities was present and these two got something that would reveal the beauty of Romance fiction, a splenderous HEA!

Nonetheless, it was a true, and addictive as usual, Kat Austen fantastic short read! I can’t wait for the next! Are we going to get any more of these gods?! I sure hope so! And maybe will see a bit more of Holland and Ethan?! Fingers crossed!!!

“What have you been waiting for?”
His brows knitted together, his look suggesting I was missing something. “You,” he breathed like it was a prayer. “I’ve been waiting for you.”

~4~ stars from me!!

That was a unique and very enjoyable story with an pretty wow factor that it contained a hero who is a God...furthermore it has bold and a little bit unusual characters which was refreshing well even though Ethan Hades is as i said a god he acted like most hot head masculine bold men and lots of cocky attitude.. yeah he had the "I have a big secret that makes me powerful but you can't figure out what because when you do then you'll think that you're crazy" but that made him pretty interesting in my eyes.

As for Dr. Holland the thing that was refreshing and the same time drove me crazy was her stubbornness...indeed a very stubborn woman.. who "escaped" her suffocating life and pursued a different direction.

Two completely different (you can see it from the first pages) people will collide... but what will happen when a God falls for a mortal woman?? ...(Well you have to read it in order to learn that..)

Steamy scenes, enjoyable dialogues it was definitely a quick fun read and there some juicy twists!! I certainly recommend it and I'm looking forward to read the next story the author will create!

Personal Review:
One of the most unrealistic supernatural love stories I have ever read! It is sweet and hot but totally not believable AT ALL – it was like the author didn’t even try!

Random Ramblings
•Loved that she wasn’t taken by him immediately – she had good comebacks
•I was surprised by how quickly she went from not wanting sleep with him to telling him she wanted sex only
•They fell in love too quickly
•So she will die and he lives forever? WTF?? – so not romantic

Overall Feeling:

What a hottie!

This Ethan Hades is one cocky god in disguise. Carrying guilt on his impenetrable body, he faces a no-nonsense doctor who doesn't fall for his charms but melts his hardened body.

Not only is this well written, but it's definitely original. It's set in a World Corps camp to help the people of Sudan. Among medical supplies and grueling hours, Holland and Hades challenge each other with provocative dialogues, unfulfilled lives and secrets that can doom a god.

It's a wonderful start of a universe that can spawn multiple stories and smutty, fated romances. I really liked the soul mate concept that the characters gradually become aware of in each other. It started with sassy banter and erupted into very steamy times. Extremely hot, dirty and intimate!

Even though it contains a bittersweet note because of the immortal/mortal pariting, it's also bursting with love and commitment, and I enjoyed it very much. So I'm ecstatic that more stories are coming out under the Gods Among Men label. Such an exciting concept.

Love me some Ethan.....dibs, dibs, dibs. I absolutely loved these two, their back and forth "foreplay", it was so hot, Ethan is one of the best dirty talkers ever.

Holland is a doctor working in Sudan to help out. Ethan is the God Hades and is there helping out too. When they first meet, she does not put up with any bs and he likes that she is not throwing herself at him. He ends up saving her and stays on her floor to make sure she is ok. He really is the perfect guy and loved this book, I am hoping this will be a series because I loved it.

These two were so hot and so in sync with each other, major relationship goals.

Ethan Hades (Gods Among Men) by Kat Austen

Novella is a standalone.

description

Ethan Hades (Gods Amoung Men) was a short and smutty insta-love story about two virgins destined to be together.

"I'm not going to break your heart, I'm going to be the one who puts it back together."

It's soul-mate sweet and hot-as-Hades—with a different God of the Underworld than you'd expect, which makes it oh-so nice.

And though the end did leave me a bit frowny , I would still recommend this novella if you're looking for a read that's light, smutty, and hothotHOT.

"For all of you who deserve a god. Don't settle for a mere mortal."

In all honesty, I struggled with this one. It still scorching and swoon inducing BUT it made me question not only the length of the happily ever after, it also made me think about my own mortality. Something I prefer to think about less and less with each passing year.

I loved the portrayal of soul-mates within the narrative, when you find THE ONE there is no obstacle that can come between you. Fulfilment in all aspects of your life are achievable especially when your goals align so perfectly. The only problem one is mortal while the other is immortal. Bringing to mind the saying ‘it is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all’.

I know there are no guarantees in life and to quote Joe Black ‘nothing is certain in this world but death and taxes’ - embarking on a relationship with the understanding that it is for a limited time, however long that may be and that inevitably one would die and the other would have to carry on with only their memories for company. Now do you see why I struggled, the inevitability of it all overshadowed my enjoyment.

I adored Ethan and Holland, soul-mates to the factor of swoon multiplied by scorching but they really need to find a way to make Holland immortal then everything would be right in my happily ever after bubble again ;)

OMG, this was the sweetest story of instant love with virgins and hot first time.
I wondered how this story was going to be written. I mean the God of the underworld, Hades. The one who has always been portrayed as the evil God, torturing souls for a life of wrong doing. This was not how this was written and I loved every word.

This is the story of Hades, God of the Underworld and finding THE ONE.
Ethan is working in Sudan constructing buildings, homes, etc. for the underprivileged. Holland is a Doctor for World Corps, caring for the underprivileged in Sudan and has only been there for a week. She is in the process of doing all the workers yearly physicals and the next patient is Ethan Hades.
When Ethan goes for his yearly physical with the new Doctor, he didn't expect to be attracted and have this deep soul grabbing feeling for her. She couldn't be The One.
The Immortal Gods aren't suppose to become attached to humans and Zeus is who they will answer to for breaking the Gods law.

If you want a great read about the Immortal Hades and finding The ONE, this is a one-click.

Kat Austen is a new author to me but after reading this book I will be downloading more of her books as I really enjoyed her writing style.
This book is very entertaining and is a great twist on the mythical Gods.
I'm a big fan of the Gods so I couldn't wait to see how the Evil Hades was portrayed in this book and it was a fantastic spin on things.
Ethan Hades is a man any mortal women would fall head over heels in love with as he is perfect in every single way.
He's not interested in women and is concentrating on helping out with the World Corps to redeem himself.
Holland Corbin is a sassy Dr in the World Corps who wants to make sense of the world and help people less fortunate than her.
They meet, they banter and then he becomes her Knight in shining armor and she becomes The One.
Loved the story and I can't wait to see if Kat has any plans for other God books.

Another amazing book from Kat Austen!

From the start i absolutely loved Ethan!
He was charming and lovable from the very first page.
He knew what he wanted and that was Holland!

Holland seemed abit prim and proper at first.
Bit of a stick up the a*se.
But then you read her side of it and she's none of them things!
She's just a woman that's been burned by previous relationships.

When Ethan and Holland finally get together they become explosive!
Melt the words right off your kindle - hot.

The ending in a way is kind of bitter sweet for me but that didn't lessen the rating.

"For all of you who deserve a god. Don't settle for a mere mortal."

I am such a sucker for a Kat Austen short read each and everyone i have loved and devoured.

This was such a different take on Hades the God of the underworld to what i have ever heard or read about so expect the unexpected when it comes to him.

"I'm not going to break your heart, I'm going to be the one who puts it back together."

But when it comes to the author Kat Austen we know were in for a fantastic short hot sexy romantic read.

I floved ETHAN HADES ! He's the God of the underworld who pursued and claimed an amazing mortal woman with the kindest heart, Dr. Holland Corbin, as The One. This is truly an enjoyable must-read novella !

This was a very different story than I have read before. Ethan Hades is a God and finds The One in a mortal human named Holland. Ethan knew it almost immediately but Holland needed some time to come to terms with the whole thing. It was a very sweet story with a great epilogue!

Ethan Hades
By: Kat Austen

3.5 Star Review by Kristie K

Ethan Hades is a God among men…and irresistible among women…

Holland Corbin just finished medical school. Instead of taking one of the many high paying jobs offered her, she travels halfway across the world to serve as a doctor in the World Corps. Her desire to give back to humanity, and do something for someone other than herself outweighed the draw of a big paycheck. During a routine annual check up of the other humanitarian staff in the camp, Holland meets Ethan Hades. His cocky attitude, knowing smirk, and larger than life presence both annoy and enthrall her. Determined to keep him at arms length, Holland does her best to put him off and deny her attraction. Too bad he has other ideas…

Ethan Hades is truly a God among men. Though his true story has been muddied over the centuries, his status as ruler of the Underworld is pure truth. Determined to give something more back to humanity and the world, he works as a laborer for the World Corps. Building houses, hospitals, churches, and villages for those in need. Hades spends his hours toiling away in the hot sun, trying to make up for what he is and the things he has done. Truly believing he is unworthy of love, he has given up on the whole idea of it. Until he walks into the camp medical tent to meet the new doctor for his annual check up… Hades hasn’t ever felt so strongly for a woman, and he won’t be denied.

Kat Austen has gifted us with a new twist on the myth of Hades. In her take on the God of the Underworld, much of what we have come to learn over the years is sifted away in favor or something much more intriguing. I really loved the plot points, and ideas behind the story of Hades. It was such a refreshing change, and one I found irresistible. The characters were well developed, and I loved their sharp wit and quick banter. The heart of the story was easy to fall in love with, and so very intriguing. My only disappointment came with the execution of these ideas and plot points. This story could have been so much more. I would have loved to see even further beyond the immediate relationship in the story. More of the background, the myth, the legend, of their reality as Ms. Austen sees it. The sexual tension, and sensual scenes were amazing, but became a bit much for me at times. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed Ethan Hades, and want to thank Ms. Austen for bringing him into my life! Wonder what she has in store for us next….hmmmm…

Okay, I am officially loving the concept of a book about a god!! Especially that God being one named Ethan!! This guy-- holy moly. He is a true force to be reckoned with, most especially when it comes to Holland. Even if the reckoning has to be done with Holland herself.
That's right folks- poor Ethan's greatest adversary is his little human love herself. The one woman alive that can't seem to break down her own defenses and fall for a god!! Luckily, this is Hades we're talking about, and he doesn't give up easily. Or at all.
These two are so perfectly matched, even through immortality, that you can't help but fall in love with their story, and the way that it unfolds. Even though it does break my heart a little to think that Holland isn't immortal herself, I make myself imagine that Ethan will one day find a way around that pesky little detail and make it so. After all, Hades needs his happiness just like everyone else!!!

This was okay...I liked the premise and enjoyed it. It was quick, sexy read. Problem with that is that I thought it moved a bit too quickly and I felt the heroine succumbed to the heroes advances like a wet noodle. She was so tough in the beginning and once chapter later, she was all over him. Really disappointing. And Ethan was arrogant in the first chapter, then just a big teddy bear for the rest of the book. The idea was there and it help promise, but it just wasn't delivered in so short a book.

I feel in love with this book as soon as I started reading. It is not quite what you image when you think about gods on earth. It isn't very supernatural. It is so spicy! The only thing I want more of was the book. I did not want it to end.

4 “It’s all about the babies” Stars

If you have always pictured Hades as the ultimate bad-boy hot guy like me, then you’ll get a surprise when you read Ethan Hades. Ethan has lots to atone for, so he spends his allotted time on Earth working with humanitarian associations. While on a job site in Africa he meets Holland, the new camp’s doctor and sparks fly, mainly because it seems Holland hates his guts on principle.

Holland is tired of the upper society lifestyle her family wants for her. As soon as she graduates she runs as far away as possible to do pro bono work. She’s seen lots of entitled, cocky guys just like Ethan and she’s not about to fall for one of those.

Ethan has given up hope of The One existing for him. It’s only when he meets Holland that his whole world begins to change. As soon as he sees her he knows she is the love of his life and sets on winning her over.

I really liked Ms. Austen’s take on the Greek Gods mythology. Ethan Hades was a fun, sweet and sexy read I greatly enjoyed. Holland was a caring and sweet girl looking for something better in life than just money and making a name for yourself. Hades aka Ethan was so cute I was smitten within the first lines. He was devoted to making Holland’s every dream come true, but he was also extra sexy and bossy when they were together. The fact that he was seriously into breeding her was the cherry on top.

“But it’s not just my cum I want to fill you with, Holland. I plan on putting my child inside you as well. I want to our baby in you. I want to watch your stomach grow with my child. I want to take your virginity and plant my seed in your womb all in the same night.”

I got my epilogue and I loved it with every cell of my being. My one problem was for me a very important issue wasn’t resolved . This represents a conflict for me since I’m not guaranteed a forever type HEA. I hope in future installments this will be resolved.

This was the sweetest story of instant love that had virgins for H/h and their first time was Hawt Hawt HOT! This is taking on the Greek Mythology and doing a modern day spin to the story and wow, I totally love how the author approached this fresh look to the mythology.
This is the story of Hades, God of the Underworld and him finding his one and only. Ethan Hades (Hades) is the God of the Underworld, is spending time on Earth around the mortal people volunteering in the Sudan with World Corps. It is here where his world is rocked. Why you wonder? He meets his ONE- volunteer doctor, Holland Corbin. There is heat and sparks between them. Problem is, she is mortal while Ethan is a God…there can only be trouble ahead if he continues on with his pursuit of Holland. The Immortal Gods are not really supposed to become attached to mortals. If they do, they end up answering to Zeus for breaking one of the most important of God’s Laws. Oh there are many fantastic and lovely twists and turns in this fast paced romance read. I loved how alpha Ethan is and how sassy Holland is. This is a quick read full of hot steamy sexual scenes and the interaction between Holland and Ethan is one to look for. This is a quick read, and I am looking forward to the next Gods Among Men book.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

This was such a unique read I always love to read books that have to deal with gods it's been awhile since I'V come across one that I really liked and Ethan Hades was one of the good ones . Hades is usually played by the bad guy but that wasn't the case with this book he plays the cocky hero and I loved it . When the two characters meet you expect Holland to fall on the feet and try to get into hades is pants but with a pleasant surprise to us as the reader and more so Ethan she doesn't and ignore his cocky comments . The h was a dream she didn't take crap from anyone and she was determined to do her job also in her sudden later on in the book was super hot . So if you are looking for a short steamy story with a little bit of alpha god then this is the book you are looking for .

Love knows no limits, boundaries or other realms of the universe. If you are lucky enough to find "The One" in your lifetime, it doesn't matter if you are mortal or immortal.

Ethan Hades is built like a god. He's strong, massive and incredibly sexy. He's the God of the Underworld. He is the fallguy for all that is wrong in the world. Therefore, has given up on life and sadly on love.

Holland Corbin walks into his path and she is a beauty to behold. She's perfect for him and the pull is magnetic. There may be an obstacle or two in their path before they can decide to pursue anything between them.

I have never read a book about a god but if it has Kat Austen's name on it I know I won't want to miss it. I will be reading more because I loved this storyline more than I could have imagined. It's not just a quick sexy story, it left me really wanting Ethan and Holland to have their HEA.
