When Letters From Home make all the difference.

Ethan Miller, an Army Apache Helicopter mechanic, was on tour in Afghanistan, biding his time as he worked hard and played hard.

Brooke Thompson, a fourth grade teacher, was leading her class in a project to write to a soldier.

Through the letters and gifts, Ethan grew to care for the group of children…and their teacher. Making plans for meeting after he comes home takes a back seat when the war intervenes. Can two people, who’ve never met, find love?
A standalone, no cliffhanger, and an HEA. For language that some may consider crude and for scenes of a sexual nature, mature (18+) readers only.

As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.

My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.

My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with.
I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.

I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters.
When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!

I love to hear from readers, so please email me!

Absolutely adorable and heartwarming.   It was short,  yet I felt it packed a lot into it.

Ethan is a soldier who doesn't have much family to speak of.   He's in the middle of his tour when he gets letters from a 4th grade class in the States.  Over the course of several months,  they correspond and he falls not only for the amazing kids but also their teacher, Brooke.

Brooke was so sweet.   She was a great heroine.  She loved her students so much.   She was proud of them and the letters they wrote to Ethan.   She soon found herself happier than she'd ever been.

~brave, endearing soldier
~sweet loving heroine
~pushing away~ a short time, but it was quickly resolved
~no cheating or ow/om drama whatsoever
~not very steamy - one scene but the story focuses more on their correspondence and how they fall for each other.
~not enough time that they are actually together.   I also wish there was more of a look into their future.  I felt cheated out of that info

I believe this is the start of a great series. I will definitely give book 2 a look as well!

This is the type of romance that I love. It wasn't angsty but just heartfelt and sweet. I absolutely ADORE romances that start with letters, texts or emails. I enjoy reading them and seeing the love blossom as they get to know each other before actually meeting. And the kids' letters were so freaking adorable and funny. That was just icing on the cake. I'm looking forward to more in this series.

4 stars!

Ah this book was so sweet and cute!

"Class Of Love" is the story of Brooke, a fourth grade teacher who is staring a program in her class to write to a soldier overseas. Ethan is an army apache helicopter mechanic and has been stationed in Afghanistan for his second tour.

description

I'm really liking this line of story so much and even though the concept has been about the same they have ended up being so different from each other. With this book it's not just Brooke and Ethan writing to each other but also Brooke's class as well. The kids letters were so sweet and I loved that Ethan would write back to them. As the months go by they all develop a connection and soon Brooke/Ethan start writing their own personal messages.

description

Really enjoyed this quick read about two people finding love in an unconventional way and when they least expected. Of course rooting for them where a whole fourth grade class! I just wished it would of been longer because that's how much I enjoyed it.❤️

Thank you for the recommendation Shireen!

Spc Ethan Miller goes to his bunk to and sees a large padded envelope left there by his friend after a mail run. He opens it to find individual letters from a 4th grade class of students and one from their teacher. He reads them and isn't sure at first what to do but later decides to write the class back.

Brooke Thompson is the 4th grade teacher who decided to write a solider as a class project for her students. They don't know who they wrote until the solider writes back and tells them a little about himself. The kids are excited and can't wait to write back. Brooke didn't think to write him another personal note like last time until one of her students encourage her to write him herself. So she decides what can it hurt.

What starts out as a simple project for Brooke and Ethan takes a turn when they find themselves getting to know each other thru their own personal mail connection outside of the class project and feelings start to run deeper than expected.

I loved this story. I loved the kids letters as well as the ones they sent each other. I loved how their relationship unfolded and the ending was just fantastic. It was dual pov and I loved this couple.

I loved this sweet story of a teacher and her class writing to a soldier overseas. As time goes on Ethan and Brooke get to know each other and find them selves falling. This is a quick read without a lot of angst but still felt like a full story. I loved both the hero and heroine. I can't wait for the next in the series. I definitely need to read more by Maryann Jordan.

*I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book*
Maryann Jordan's full-length books are already great to add a short story makes it feel like her full-length ones. I don't want to give away much of it but It was really sweet! Ethan is an Apache helicopter mechanic on tour since he has basically no family he wasn't expecting go get letters it could have gone to any soldier but he decided to open it. To his surprise it was letters from fourth graders, each letter he read and really enjoyed them so what does he do? he replies in one letter hoping he could try to answer all the kid's question. Brooke the fourth-grade teacher wasn't expecting anyone to reply but was happy share with the class what he wrote back. Over the months they start to get to know each other better through the letters as well as Ethan enjoying getting letters from the kids. Just when they think it is going well, the war steps in.
I thought this story was sweet, I felt that Ethan might be all alpha soldier but he wanted to have someone waiting for him back home. Even if it was a bunch of fourth graders who wrote him letters.

Basically botched the end

I knew this was kinda short going Into it but I got so caught up in the vivid details of war life and the communications between the students and Ethan, as well as him and Brooke. It was fairly detailed and had good build up. However the last leg once they finally met ended so quickly it was kinda sad.

This was pretty cute! I loved the concept of this - letters between two people while one is stateside and the other is in a war. I liked reading the letters and getting to know the characters that way.

While I think this was highly unrealistic, it was still a fun read!

Class of Love by Maryann Jordan will make your heart smile. We all know that she can write any story with ease but this book in the Letters From Home series is sweet and endearing. Ethan and Brooke will steal your heart. Such innocence in characters. Ethan is a helicopter mechanic in Afghanistan and has no family except an father he does not speak with. Brooke is a 4 th grade teacher who has her class start s special project. Ethan always wishes that when mail call comes he would get something from home but he has no one to send him anything. When a box of letter is delivered Ethan is the soldier that is picked to receive them.

Can you imagine how much of a thrill those letters became to a lonely military mechanic. Maryann Jordan's detailed descriptions of the joy in the classroom when Ethan writes back and the way he keeps every letter made me tear up. The relationship that develops between Ethan and Brooke while quick was so beautifully written that you are happy for them. I wish I could give this 10 stars. Maryann Jordan has found her niche in life and I got one am so happy she enjoys writing as much as I enjoy reading.

Class of Love

Maryann Jordan is a brand new author for me and I am pleased to say that she has quickly become a favorite. I really enjoyed both stories in this book and cannot wait to dive into the rest of the series. I laughed, I cried and had a whole slew of other emotions throughout both stories. Both have a very Happily Ever After.

Both stories are completely safe and free of abuse and cheating. There are no others after meeting.

The second story has both the hero and the heroine dealing with the death of a soldier close to them so if you are sensitive to that kind of thing you might want to skip it. No details of the actual death are given just the survivors dealing with their grief.

This sweet novella warmed my heart. Pen pals with soldiers brings me back to my childhood and some warm memories of writing with a soldier who wrote to me and included his drawings. These letters were so great that I can remember them 18 years later. It really impacts you to know there's someone thinking of you.

I have met many of friends through books. I have never met them face to face yet these women are some of my best friends ever. So to fall in love with someone you have never met face to face is so realistic.

Reading this story was pure sweetness. It's wonderfully written and brings you so much.

One month has passed since I read this story and some of my shelves suggest that I was in the process of marking it as 'read' but it fell by the wayside. (Perhaps I looked at the clock and realized I needed to leave for work). My recall was pretty good up to the point when Ethan and Brooke finally meet in person. Since I had shelved it as 'author more maybe', I decided to read the ending chapters again.
Well, I am rating it as 2 1/2 stars. It was cute, sweet but not a wow. I just finished another book by Ms. Jordan (Jayden-Heroes at Heart series) and again okay but not a wow. Trying one more novel before I give this author a pass.

Cheers

Author's summary describes it all.

This is simplistic; there's no depth to the characters, to their first meeting or even how they end up making this relationship work. It's kinda bad.

There's a bonus story that's about a grieving widow and another soldier she meets in a cemetery. Interesting and slightly better than the first one.

Positively delightful but too short reading experience. I've read a number of Ms. Jordan's books and this is a terrific one. This is the first of this series that I've read but I hope to read more soon.

I really enjoyed this story as it was heartwarming and sweet. Fourth-grade teacher Brooke Thompson and Army helicopter mechanic Ethan Miller begin corresponding while he is overseas. Ethan isn't quite sure what to make of the letters initially, but he becomes fully invested in this endeavor. As the letters keep coming, both Ethan and Brooke start to feel more than friendship between them. As the school year ends, so does Ethan's deployment. Ethan gets sent out to a camp away from the base he is stationed at and has to end communications with Brooke and the class until he returns. Fate steps in and details Ethan's plans to visit Brooke and her students.

It is amazing how powerful the written word can be and in this age of computers and cell phones, the written letter has taken a back seat. This story brings home how important written letters can be. Ms. Jordan knows how to make you laugh and cry. She draws you into the story and doesn't let go. The extra story at the end of this novella was just as emotional and wonderful as Class of Love.

This was such a sweet story. I have read a lot of military stories and most of them are after the guy has gotten out of the military. This story was different in the respect that Ethan and Brooke meet through letters. Brooke's 4th grade class sends a box of letters to soldiers over seas. Ethan is the soldier who receives the letters and as time goes by starts to look forward to the letters. When Brooke and Ethan see pictures of each other, they are drawn to each other. They start to email and skype. As Ethan's time in the service comes to an end will they be able to give this relationship a shot in the real world?

This story was short, but it gave me so much. The story was good and the characters were great characters. I'd love to see more of Brooke and Ethan as their relationship plays out in the real world.

I purchased a copy of the the novel Class of Love (Letters From Home Series Book 1) by Maryann Jordan and this review was given freely.
A story of finding love and regaining life after injury. Lonely soldier Army mechanic Ethan Miller stationed in Afghanistan grows closer to fourth grade teacher Brooke when her class "adopts" him for the year only to have Ethan's world changed by an injury 6 weeks prior to discharge. This is a collection of letters intermixed with Army base scenes, war scenes and scenes from Brooke's life.
Also contains the novella Sign of Love:

A poignant and sweet story of love after loss. Becky celebrates what should have been her wedding day alone in the cemetery at her fiance's grave only to find Military Police Sergeant Caleb attending his best friend and squad member's funeral.

Class of Love is a super sweet story that pulls on your heartstrings. Ethan is an army mechanic serving in Afghanistan. Single and with no close family, he watches as others get mail from home until he becomes a class project at Eastville Elementary School and starts exchanging letters and photos with Brooke Thompson and her fourth grade students. Through the exchange, Ethan develops a connection with the students and especially with their teacher.

"...you’ll never know if you don’t keep this little pen-pal thing going. Who knows? Could be your one ... great love.”

I loved this story! It is short and sweet, but packs an emotional punch with insights into how powerful just a few thoughtful words and gestures can change lives.

When I saw my favorite author was going to do 3 short stories around Valentines Day I was super excited. Much like any time Maryann Jordan comes out with a new book I scoop it up and read fast and furiously.
Class of Love is the first book in the Letters From Home Series. In this book we meet Army Mechanic Ethan and Teacher Brooke. Brooke is doing a project with her class by writing a soldier. When tragedy strikes Brooke finds her way to her soldier and helps him find his way home....

This was a very short and sweet romance. I'm a fan of military romances. This would have gotten 5 stars but I found some inconsistencies. Brooke started out as having dark chestnut hair to being a blond later in the book. Did she dye her hair and I just missed that part? Also the part where Ethan not receiving anything from family, which explains why in the book, but then he has a married older sister who doesn't bother to send him anything too. I would think his sister would still take the time to send care packages. Other than a couple of things that didn't make sense to me, I did like the story.
