He wasn't my first love, but he would be my last.My life hasn't been picture perfect. But I'm still happy with it, really. So I was honestly shocked when my best friends tossed a dating coach at my feet. They'd actually hired a matchmaker to help me find love—but I'm not interested in looking for love! I'm a single mom, I have way more things to worry about.Except... Layne Torres is every woman's dream. He looks like he's been built from pure steel, and he's smooth in all the right ways. Then he tells me he has strict rules. I only have one rule--no sex until the third date. But where does getting knocked up fit in?He was supposed to help me find love. Neither of us expected that he'd do it so quickly... or that it'd be with him.He said from the start that he didn't want to be tied down, he wasn't ready to have a family. How will he react when I tell him we aren't just playing house anymore?
I received an ARC for an honest review from the author WOW, This book was fantastic and what an emotional rollercoaster as well Kinsley has had some rough times and Layne has as well but they were fanatastic characters I could not put this book down it had be gripped from the start Another brilliant book from this author and can not wait for the next book.
I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through arc.
Kinsey knew her life would change when she opens the door to find out that her husband was killed that morning and she just finished feeding her baby girl. Kinsey moved back to her old town and became reacquainted with her friends and they have been with them ever since. It had been 5 years and her friends were trying to get her to date again. They hired a dating coach to help Kinsey back in the game but she wasn’t so sure. Layne wanted to find out more about her life so he shows up at her school. When Layne accidentally touched Kelsey they felt a zing. Kelsey friend told her who is was and he had a lot of high end clients that use his service. Layne was trying to get Kelsey out of his head and here was at her work. When Layne saw Kelsey he was beside himself and now he would be turning her over to his friend and wingman Taylor for the night. Layne was amazed how much Kelsey turned him on it was not like him at all. Kelsey really liked Layne and she knew he wasn’t for her but as her coach maybe he was the first man to touch her since her husband. Layne and Kelsey spent the night together. Layne had been looking for his family since he grew up in the system. Layne gets a call that he was not expecting from his sister. He was going to finally meet the family that had been elusive too him. Kelsey was thinking something was not right and his sister let Kelsey know she wasn’t wanted. Twists, turns, kidnapping and love
this book, story took my breath away. it was so sad and then was happy. I kept wiping tears, followed by happy laughter. ms Holt has my sincere appreciation for this story. I would like to be a proof reader for her.
Honestly? I liked this book in the beginning, it seemed like it was going to be great... but I didn't have the same feels near the end. I'm not sure why... I'm sure it was just me. It had a great storyline...and I loved Fay- she was cute and funny- but I didn't get the Chemistry between Kinsley and Layne. I hope you see more from this than I did.
Such a warm, sexy, emotional read... Kinsley is a kindergarten teacher and single mother of one gorgeous little girl, Fay. About 5 years ago her world crashed down and she lost the love of her life, Fay's father, Max. Now she moved back to her hometown and has everything she needs. But her friends think she is missing something. Basically they think she needs to either get laid or fall in love. Kinsley fought it but then decided what the hell. Little does she know her friends bought her a dating coach. Except this dating coach, Layne, is smoking hot and she doesn't need any dates if this is what she gets to look at. Can he help her find love?!?! Layne is great at what he does, he can read people like no other. As long as he sticks to his rules everything will be fine. Until he meets Kinsley and his rules go out the window. He never mixes business with pleasure, but after being around Kinsley one night won't hurt. This book hooked me in right at the begginning. My heart always hurt for Kinsley and I am so glad this story went as it did. And she was one kick ass broad. She never went home and cried or broke down because things weren't going as planned. She took it on and then made it happen. I respect this character so much. I am happy they found each other. I think Fay is so damn cute. And let me say, you don't meet the mother that much but the little glimpses you get of her are priceless. Good read **I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
This was two stories, really. One about a widow with a 5 yr old trying to figure out if she's ready to move on after losing her military husband 5 years ago. And the second about a man who helps people find love (a dating coach) who is searching for the family who gave him up for adoption.
The idea that the matchmaker falls in love with the client is SUFFICIENT. But to pull in the convoluted story of the sister and the parents and an abduction was weird and unresolved. I found her friends and mother obnoxious. I think they're supposed to be funny, but found them annoying. And, he's the worst matchmaker/dating coach ever. While I understand that the first date was a total setup to see how she'd react, the guy was a total dick and deserved the drink and the punch in the face even if it was an accident. And the second date where she's almost assaulted was appalling.
Speaking of appalling, let's discuss the numerous grammar errors, typos and banal dialogue. This needed a serious editing.
Kinsley is a single mother with a daughter named Fay of 5 years. She is a young widow her husband was a soldier and died in the service. Her friends believe that it is time that she finds love and start dating again. The hires a matchmaker named Layne. A nice guy who is hot. Kinsley is attracted by Layne, and Layne of Kinsley. And before they know it, leads a one night stand to a pregnancy. I loved this book. even before the first five pages I had both wept and laughed. a sweet story about finding love when you least expect it. it was both sad and funny and was also read quickly. a wonderful book written by a great author
I loved this beautiful written book and had so much fun reading it ,really enjoyed and felt in love with the excellent character development and phenomenal chemistry between Layne and Kinsley . The dialogs between Layne and Kinsley's five year old daughter Fay are dynamic, quick witted and there are lots of hilarious and funny conversations . I highly recommend Third Date to anyone looking for a touching , fun and sweet read that's also drool worthy at the same time ! recieved a copy for a honest review .
This is a sweet beautiful story about hope, and finding love.
Third Date is beautifully well-written, with great likeable characters, heartwarming and emotional. Oh, and with some pretty good hilarious exchanges between the main characters and a cute five year old.
I really don't like going into details, so I won't spoil the story for you. The story got me hooked right from the start and I really enjoyed it.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!
Leah knows how to pack a book with emotions. Happy and sad emotions. When Kinsley's husband dies overseas she's left a single mom if a baby. After 5 years her friends thought she needed to start dating and hired a dating coach. While the dates were laughable she did find love where she didn't expect. Highly recommended read. Packed with love, laughter, family and closure. I received a ARC in exchange for a honest review.
Gifted an ARC for an honest review...... You know what you get with a Leah Holt book and this was no exception. Kinsey loses her husband and gets back in the dating game after being out of it for awhile. Layne is her "dating coach", but sparks fly and the story goes from there. Well written, well paced, and interesting characters, I enjoyed this read and hope you will too. Thanks Leah!
There is a mystery to solve. This is a well written love story. The matchmaker falls in love. Something that he was not expecting. She was a teacher contented with her life with her daughter. Then Cupid strikes and it's love at first sight.
A sweet sexy romance with a lot of heart. Layne is a great hero and a little clueless as in terms of his falling in love with sexy single Mom, Kinsley. Good fun.
