This series was started by Jeff Brown. After he passed in 2003 - the Flat Stanley series of books was continued by other authors, of whom Kate Egan is one of them. The very nice illustrations were done by Macky Pamintuan.
In this book Stanley Lambchop and his family travel to Great Britain to solve the mystery of the Queen of England's missing ring. She had lent it to a family member and the ring had never been returned.
Stanley solves the mystery - with the help of the niece of the woman who was allowed to wear the ring.
Although I liked the book - Prince Henry [Harry] was listed as the Heir - instead of Prince William.
Other than that - I found the book quite delightful.
Typical Stanley, typical Americanized view of London, which may be new to a fourth grader. Interesting enough to keep the fourth grader reading, which is a good thing. Rating this as a fourth grader. 4/5 stars.
Excellent read aloud to help a young child prepare for a trip to London. Flat Stanley will help them become familiar and excited about a couple of the famous landmarks they will see there. My son can not wait to "eat tea".
New author but another sweet story of Flat Stanley. This time he is a spy at Buckingham Palace in search of a missing ring needed before the next coronation. Kind of a timely read.
