This is a very short read and when I reached half or a little more than half of the story, I didn't know if I can finish this book. For a short story, a lot was mentioned about their past. I'm not easily bothered by that but in this book, I did. Maybe it's just me. The only thing I liked was the epilogue. See safety.
The story is about Payne and Vienna.
She just graduated from college taking Law like her father and her father's best friend, Payne.
He's a partner in a firm and he needed a new assistant. Her dad asked her if she wants to assist Payne for a while.
Both were attracted to each other but he tried to fight it. But Vienna won't stop until he gives in.
They started a relationship but they decided to keep it a secret. And if not because

This was a sweet,quick & steamy read.
Vienna is back from home after graduating from Harvard with plans on seducing Payne, her fathers best friend. When the perfect opportunity to get close to Payne falls in her lap she jumps at the chance. She's never aware of Paynes feelings for her until one tipsy night at the office. Payne & Vienna hide there relationship from her dad until that's no longer a option.
This was a good debut book from Mia Ford and I'm interested into reading more from her.

Vienna is coming home to her single dad, having just graduated from Harvard law. She’s looking forward to seeing him again, but even more looking forward to seeing his best friend Payne. Vie has had a crush on Payne since her teenage years and over time the crush has just gotten stronger and strong. Her fantasies of him keep her up at night and have kept her from giving her virginity to any of the college boys that were interested.
Payne’s assistant at the law firm has just quit, so Vie takes the job, temporarily at least. She takes advantage of the close quarters and late hours to try to get Payne to see her as a woman, not a little girl. She eventually succeeds, but even after he takes her v-card, continues to teach her and encourages her to explore all aspects of a sexual relationship with him, he still feels conflicted. Payne feels like he’s betraying his best friend and is terrified of losing his long-time friend.
Payne and Vie decide to keep their relationship a secret for the time being, but as the months go by and they become more certain that this is more than a passing fling, they agree that they need to tell Vienna’s father. They procrastinate as long as possible, until a little pink plus sign urges them to confess quickly to her dad, before he figures it out on his own.

I didn't use to like these short stories but something about the way it just gets to the point without all the drama is a refreshing change.

This is Payne and Vienna's story and it's a steamy one. If you like older man, father's best friend forbidden romances, this book's for you. The characters were well developed and likable. Their chemistry was amazing and the age difference seemed to evaporate. She's always had a crush on him and was determined to save herself for Payne. After graduating from Harvard she goes to work for him and she's determined to seduce him. She gets pregnant and that definitely complicates things. Lots of drama but eventually an HEA. This was a good read but not my favorite from Mia. I read an arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

Vienna has always had a crush on Payne and has been saving herself for him. When she starts to work for him she lets her intentions known and Payne can't resist. A forbidden love that they have to keep secret from her father who they are both very close to.

She lusted after her father's best friend for years and on her 21st birthday she has decided to do something about it. This story is a hot May-December romance. This story is so hot, but a sweet love story as well. When Payne and Vienna finally give in to their chemistry, you feel the heat across the pages. This was an entertaining quick, read.

Older man young woman..Amazing love story.Mia is a new author but she is freaking amazing..Absolutely loved this storyline.The character chemistry was off the charts.I absolutely love how the book ends.Very well written with just enough detail to get you hooked and keep you hooked until the end.Highly recommend.I cant wait to read more by Mia.Definitely a great book

I liked this book but it seemed to jump a lot which had me re reading pages numerous amounts of times. I liked Payne and Vienna but I was hoping to see a sizzling connection, a can’t stay away from you kind of connection. I wanted Payne to tell his Vienna’s father, his best friend about their relationship but he kept putting it off. I wanted him to stand up and confess his love and not be able to hide it but instead he was insistent on keeping it under wraps for months upon months.
I finished this book in one sitting. It is a quick and easy read, I did hope to get Payne’s point of view though. I wanted to know what he was thinking and what he was feeling for Vienna.
One last thing: I am intrigued about Vienna’s father and his new relationship. I guess I am secretly hoping to hear Vienna’s fathers story.

A great read. This wasn't the first book I read from this author and I know it won't be the last. The storyline of an older man and a young woman had been very sensitively handled. It needed to be, as the older man happened to be the best friend of the girl's father. Some things are taboo, but love is a very powerful motivator. Vienna is totally crashing on Payne, her father's friend, who knew her since she was a baby. However, babies don't stay cute little bundles but grow up, at times into beautiful, sassy, provocative young women that would challenge any man's resolve. This story is a charming one about a virgin and the object of her affection, even if it might hurt her father. True to expectations, there is tension and animosity but the arrival of the first grandchild breaks the ice between the friends. This book had made it into my favourites list, as a sexy, steamy, emotional journey of two people who proved that there can be no obstacles in the face of true love. The language, character descriptions, vocabulary and scene progression had all been well handled by the author with good editing skills. This novel is a very well-told story of a taboo subject, which I can happily recommend.

But her childhood crush, well who are we kidding as he is still her crush, also also a lawyer and partner and best friend with her Dad. Things are going o get really complicated when she starts to work for Payne. They have a lot of chemistry and before you know it they are having some fun in the office. But they have to keep their relationship a secret as otherwise what will her father/his best friend do if he finds out. It seems though that he is going find out anyway when she ends up getting pregnant....there is no hiding it any more. Now what do that they do?
I enjoyed this fast-paced, slightly taboo, older man/younger woman romance. It follows a standard plot but it is nicely written and has a lot of heat and sizzle. A fun read.

This is a wonderful love story about an older man, Payne and a younger woman, Vienna. Payne has been best friends with Vienna’s father since they were kids and watch Vienna grow up into a beautiful young woman. When Vienna returns from Harvard to her childhood home in CA she feels great about returning home. These 3 spend many meals and time together so when it come up that Payne needs an assistant Vienna jumps right in and is excited and hoping to have more with Payne. Vienna has saved herself hoping Payne would be the one so when they work together late one say things get hot and heavy and they start a secret relationship hiding it from her father. This is a forbidden love that finds a way to become more and they really are a special couple who just have a age difference between them. This is a great story that willdraw you in from the first chapter and leave you wanting more with the last one. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I am a fan of older man/younger woman romance so I was excited to read Breaking Rules by Mia Ford. It did not disappoint! Vienna comes home from college and she is excited to see her father but even more excited to see his best friend, also her crush, Payne. And when she goes to work for him as his assistant her crush only becomes more intense and impossible to deny. And then one night Payne admits he feels the same way. Payne and Vienna both hate the idea of hurting her father but the more time they spend together, the stronger their feelings become. What happens when they decide to tell him that not only are they in love but that there will be a surprise coming in nine months? Definitely recommend.

Having been there while growing up she harbored a crush on him and refused to give up her V card while in college. All this comes to a head when she goes to work for Payne. He doesn’t want to cross the line and give up his best friend but it’s something about her that makes all reason fly out the window. Breaking Rules. This book was not a book I usually read, but it was written by an author I really like and read. I was not disappointed! The book was interesting and different. Really? What was Vie thinking? Moreover, what was Payne thinking? As I was reading I kept saying, "oh no she don't" and "she better stop thinking that". Then I said "oh he better not". I don't know where Mia Ford wrote this story from, but Vie and Payne had me holding my breath, I had to remind myself to breathe. But then it happened! Payne gave in (and I gasped while on the train going to work) I couldn't believe it! I liked the story. I'm not going to give any spoilers, you should read it yourself. Ms. Mia Ford's writing is smooth flowing. Good job.

This book brings us Vienna and Payne. Vienna has just returned home from college and moved back home with her dad. Payne is her dad's best friend, who Vienna has always had a crush on. Now that she is back home, her feelings only intensify and she finds herself helping Payne out at his office. Talk about sparks flying. VIenna finally has her dreams comes true, and Payne is everything she thought he'd be. However, telling her father, and Payne's best friend isn't so easy to do. This was a good read and I do recommend it.

This is a great story about a woman that goes off to college and comes back as a lawyer. She ends up working for crush, who just happens to be her dads best friend. This is a very well put together storyline. Even though it’s an older man younger woman story there is more story than naughty. A lot of time there more naughty and not enough story but not this time. Great job Mia Ford.

I really enjoyed this book...I wasn't quite sure at first but as I turned each page I became more and more entranced with the relationship between Vienna and Payne and the true emotions that Ms. Ford was able to make me feel. I felt their distress, their elation and ultimately the love that they had to admit to her father. Totally a feel good and my favorite happily ever after in a long time! Just a beautiful love story! I voluntarily reviewed this story because I want everyone to enjoy it!

This was my first book by mia Ford and I look forward to reading more. It's a very short story but the content is hot and satisfying.
I just love the taboo plot of a girl falling in love with her father's best friend. Payne is 21 years older than Vienna and if thats not enough, her father is his best friend. Vienna d Payne for years and when give into their mutual attraction, things get messy.

It was such an amazing story and I loved reading about Vie and Payne - they were amazing characters and even if I felt the story was a bit rushed at times it all made sense and I am so glad I was able to be a part of their little journey. I would love to read more about them and their future, whatever it might bring.
