First of all, how is this book Redmond’s story when solid 3 quarters of this story is all about Blake and flashbacks on his past? 🙄 Sometimes, I just don’t understand authors on how they decide to write the blurbs. 🤔 So this is it, guys! I’ve finished the fifth and the last book *but I desperately hope this is not the last* of Tyger prince series. 😌 I have to say, although I love this book as I loved others, there’s not so much going on in this book.
There’s not much to write about Redmond and Commander Tallon’s characters since you have already read about them in the fourth book in the series and I much prefer the author wrote extra 50 pages in that one and wrapped up their story than continuing here since this book is definitely not about their story. 🙄 I love how we get the glimpses of Blake’s past and how he was first captured on Tygeria. 😉 How he first met King Davos and how these two fell in love, OMG, I just can’t get enough. 🤗 It’d be superb if the whole book is dedicated to Blake and Davo’s past rather than flashbacks of their past. And the plot on the new traitor who’s a sleeper cell in Tygerian palace, even that one is a bit too predictable. 😁 Overall, I really liked this book and how I get a bit of everything from our royal couples. I hope there will be more books in the future. Hopefully, Blake has six sons and only 3 of them have HEAs now so when the children became adults, we probably will have more of Tyger prince books. 😉

5 stars. Because I finally got what I wanted. Blake and Davos's story. I know it would be hard. But it's okay, I trust them. And of course, it doesn't hurt to see Redmond and Tallon finally together as well. I really hope this book is not the finale of this series...

The only part really interesting about this book, were the flashbacks about Blake and Davos first meeting and life together, but they were too few and I would have liked to see more of them. Maybe The King and His beloved Consort deserved a full story about them. My favourite couple, though, is still the one with Anarr and Renard, but close to them are Davos and Blake.
Sometimes I had the impression that the author didn't really remember the ages of her characters, bcs the numbers didn't add up, since Davos was still in his late 30ies and Blake only barely 43, they met when Blake was 23 and Davos almost 20, they stayed together for 1 year before talking about kids and then deciding to have their first child, Mikos, but we all know that Mikos was almost 21 in the first book and few years passed btw the first book and this one, so how is possible for Blake to be now 43 and for Davos to be 39 or so? doesn't make any sense, at least not with the math I know..
Anyway is fiction no one cares I guess... XD
The rest of the story was ok, but forgettable and didn't really stay in my mind long after I finished the book, and the couple Tallon/Redmond didn't really have a big space in the story also if the blurb suggested they were the MCs in this book.

The description for this fifth installment in the ‘Mate of the Tyger Prince’ series had me very excited to return to this world I have fallen in love with. I really wanted to get more backstory on King Davos and his mate, Blake, plus watching Prince Mikos and his mate, Ryan, argue is a definite wild ride. And getting a front row seat at King Stefan’s assistant, Commander Tallon and Mikos’s aide, Redmond’s, love story, promised to be a sight worth seeing. I am not going to reiterate the worldbuilding in this review as I did that for the first three books, and since I firmly believe they should be read in order, I’m going to guess that anyone reading my review already knows. *grins*
To recap, very quickly, King Davos, Blake, Prince Mikos, Ryan, and Redmond, are all on Moravia to attend the royal wedding of King Stefan to King Davos and Blake’s son, Vannos. However, Davos is furious with Blake for having completely disregarded Davos’s wishes about not becoming involved with Stefan and Vannos on Moravia. Of course this was before they found out Vannos and Stefan had fallen in love and Vannos is carrying the king’s child. By then, however, the damage was done, as Blake and Ryan had left Tygeria to go to a “spa”, but instead they snuck onto Moravia with the goal of rescuing Vannos. Davos and Blake have always had a tumultuous love affair, but this time Davos seems to really mean it, and Blake is worried.
“I do,” he said firmly, nodding his head. “And now that the war’s over, it would be a perfect time for you to get pregnant.”
Mikos’s eyebrows came together. “What?”
“For you to get pregnant. Isn’t that what you said? That you wanted another baby?”
“I wasn’t talking about me!”
“But surely that would be the fairest thing. I had the last baby, so now it’s your turn. After all, you’re so much younger than I am, like you’re so fond of telling me, and this is Tygerian technology after all. Probably much safer for you than for me in the long run.”
To say I laughed long and loud when Ryan and Mikos had this conversation is a severe understatement!
Three sets of incredibly stubborn, hardheaded, and passionate men make for an exciting read. If this entire story had only been about the relationship conflicts, it would have been good, but the author chose a different route that helped to make it far more interesting and thrilling. I really liked that each of the couples got resolution to the problems within their relationships, and the ending was extremely exhilarative.

Loved it
What I love about Davos and Blake is their love is never ending. What is breaking my heart is Ryan and Mimi's... they have the heir and Ryan will not produce a spare. It is sad in the story line Kevin miscarried and almost died.
Redmond's story, I am happy Tallon got his head out of his %^** and went after the man he loved. I really hope to read about what happens with Vannos child . Is it a boy or girl?

Overall mostly enjoyable, but repetitive enough in places that I skipped large sections of the book (also I skipped several sections with Redmond and Tallon because they weren’t very interesting to me, but it was all recapped later so it was fine). In general it was enjoyable enough that I’ll try some of the other books. I feel like there’s more potential.
Warning; slavery, suicidal ideation (Blake recollects thoughts of ending his own life rather than be a slave to Davos because Davos is his enemy).
I skipped the last two books because two deflowered innocent virgin stories in a row just wasn’t what I was feeling. Luckily there’s so much recapping in these books I didn’t miss a thing.
The good:
Still love that most of the characters are bonkers. It helps. Especially with Blake/Davos and Ryan/Mikos.
It was great learning more of Blake’s backstory.
I like that Redmond knew and accepted that he liked men (not so with some of the other MCs). It’s sad though that his family was queerphobic and so he never admitted this prior. This does lead to him still being a virgin (I think…I can’t remember if he’s had sex with other genders other than men).
Learning more about Blake and Davos’s past was kind of nice. It was a bit spartan on progression and details at times but it was interesting to learn more.
It was fun to have more of the main family together again.
Not so good:
Still too much misogyny and queerphobia for me.
Still not a big fan of splitting focus on couples. Inevitably there’s a couple I’m just neutral about. Redmond and Tallon sadly never captured my interest, especially after Tallon demanded a public reparation and then rejected Redmond publicly but then gave a half-assed non-apology because he didn’t realize it would hurt Redmond. Not my favorite.
Still needs proofing. At one point the book randomly called Blake “Donovan” and that name was never used again in the book. Actually the wrong name was used a few times (“Blake” instead of “Davos” for example). Other random errors. Stuff like that.
I love that the author includes most ages of characters. I hate getting to the end of a book thinking like I’m reading about an experienced general in her 60s only for a rando to mention she’s 21. I think however that the author fudges or forgets character ages sometimes. It reminds me of a soap opera. Blake had Mikos when he was 24, but Mikos is at least 22 and Blake is 43. I’m confused. That math does not math correctly. Another proofing thing.
If I never see the term “man bun” again it’ll be too soon. It’s hair. It’s in a bun. It’s the same no matter the gender.

Renard and Tallon are still at odds following the “incident” but when Tallon suggests a way for Renard to make it up to him, Renard is nervous but eager to regain their former camaraderie. But when it all goes horribly wrong, will Renard and Tallon make it?
For the first time in a very long time, Davos isn’t speaking to Blake because that is exactly how pissed Davos is this time around. In all their time together Blake has never backed down and been the one to apologise. It has always been Davos. Only time will tell if Blake will salvage their relationship or stand by his pride?
Mikos is set on getting Ryan settled down with another baby, but he has no idea of what is cooking up in Ryan’s head...
This is the fifth book in the series and it is most definitely not a standalone. I don’t think any of the books in this series could be considered standalones but in most of the books prior to this one, the story wasn’t so reliant on already established characters and storylines. This book follows six characters - Mikos and Ryan (who were the couple featured in books 1 and 2), Renard (introduced in book 3 and featured again in book 4), Tallon (introduced in book 4), Blake (who has been a very important character in all the books of this series) and Davos. The only character who I felt I wasn't intimately familiar with was Davos. Up until now, Davos has been the comic relief, the guy who gets the brunt of Blake’s anger, so it was amazing to finally get to know him.
Mikos and Ryan are the much needed comic relief in this book though they are not written as such, they have a sweet, short, quickly resolved storyline that helps put into perspective Blake’s rebelliousness. So even though they are not the main characters of this book their input and their storyline was greatly appreciated by me. I also loved how Ryan handled the issue of pregnancy in this book, with such humour and humility.
Tallon and Renard are one of the main couples in this story. Personally, I felt that their relationship had already developed a lot when the incident happened in which Renard left Tallon high and dry and accused him of rape, to create a diversion, to help Vannos escape and this book didn’t have much content to explore as far as their relationship was concerned. In fact, the conflict that arises in this book between these two had me very annoyed at Tallon, but I was pleased with where these two ended up.
Blake and Davos stole the show. There is so much we still don’t know about Blake and Davos’ relationship, this fact is compounded by the fact that we don’t know much about Davos as a character. Thankfully this book goes a long way in filling up that hole.
I have talked in previous reviews of this series about how much I love Blake’s interactions with his children and while this book offered more of those fantastic gleams into Blake, the kick-ass omak what I loved the most were the insights we got into Davos the father. Davos is such an amazing father. His children’s reaction to seeing him went such a long way in cementing his character. I loved how for him his entire family was so important and how much he was willing to sacrifice for their happiness.
Davos and Blake are at odds but even though Blake doubts Davos’ love for him, even Blake realises that Davos still loves him. However, his uncertainty has him reminiscing about their past. One thing I especially loved was the fact that Blake willingly altered the story of how they met to protect Mikos which was just something so inherently Blake that it had a feeling of warmth rushing through me. The second one was the change in Davos during his initial days with Blake and how he goes from wanting to subdue him to just loving him unabashedly. I also loved Davos’ observation about how each of their kids was Blake’s idea no matter how convinced he was of the contrary. This was another statement that just established all that vague ideas I had of Blake and Davos’ together. I really loved Davos and Blake and getting to know these two characters as they were with each other was an unexpected delight.
Okay, so this paragraph is going to be about me speculating about the future of this series because I have some mad theories. So this series is mostly following Davos and Blake’s children more or less in chronological order. I say more or less because Anarr and Vannos are twins and I have no idea who is the older one. So next up should be Derrick’s (whose name is spelt as Darrek in the first book and Derrick in the third one) story. Now you are probably wondering who Derrick is, Derrick is Blake and Davos’ fourth child who has been missing from most of the series because he is undergoing military training. Now knowing Blake and since this issue was addressed in Book 3, we know that Blake isn’t happy about being away from Derrick for so long. But still, the fact remains that he has been mentioned in two books out of five and all this mystery around his character has my mind going into overload because I feel that the reason we haven’t come to know Derrick is that there is a huge secret surrounding him. The wildest theory I have is the possibility that Derrick might be a girl considering Blake’s opinion on gender segregation in Tygeria this theory of mine has me going crazy because just the possibility of Blake giving birth to a girl and then having to give her up seems nigh impossible which begs the question about what would happen if Blake was indeed in such a dilemma. Yeah, crazy ass storyline but I definitely want more on Derrick, this mystery fourth son of his. Also, I feel like we will be getting to know more about Marcus Sept which I am not enthusiastic about because I want the focus of this series to remain on the Tygerian royal family and not shift to follow Marcus’ adventures in space especially if it means time off from Blake and his brood.
This book resolves the security threat that the royal family has been facing in the previous books while stilling leaving the issue of ARes open, to offer more storylines. So in a way, the next book will have lots of new things coming up in it and I can’t wait. As you can see I haven’t taken into account the fact there might not be a sixth book but, I am extremely, extremely hopeful.
A shout out to Nicarr who is like the cutest six-foot nine-year-old ever especially when he is jumping on his omak and is supremely confident that his omak will wake up for him, no matter what other people say. Blake with Nicarr and Larz is like cotton candy. I especially love the imagery of Nicarr on Blake’s lap I mean I knew Nicarr was tall but the fact that he was 6 feet to Blake’s 5 feet 9 inches puts a whole new spin on Blake’s baby. Also, this series better not end without Nicarr getting his happily ever after though the series will have to flash forward a few years for that and that particular prospect has me even more excited about Nicarr’s eventual story.
I can’t wait for the next one.

Blake and Davos stole the show. There is so much we still don’t know about Blake and Davos’ relationship, this fact is compounded by the fact that we don’t know much about Davos as a character. Thankfully this book goes a long way in filling up that hole.
I have talked in previous reviews of this series about how much I love Blake’s interactions with his children and while this book offered more of those fantastic gleams into Blake, the kick-ass omak what I loved the most were the insights we got into Davos the father. Davos is such an amazing father. His children’s reaction to seeing him went such a long way in cementing his character. I loved how for him his entire family was so important and how much he was willing to sacrifice for their happiness.
Davos and Blake are at odds but even though Blake doubts Davos’ love for him, even Blake realises that Davos still loves him. However, his uncertainty has him reminiscing about their past. One thing I especially loved was the fact that Blake willingly altered the story of how they met to protect Mikos which was just something so inherently Blake that it had a feeling of warmth rushing through me. The second one was the change in Davos during his initial days with Blake and how he goes from wanting to subdue him to just loving him unabashedly. I also loved Davos’ observation about how each of their kids was Blake’s idea no matter how convinced he was of the contrary. This was another statement that just established all that vague ideas I had of Blake and Davos’ together. I really loved Davos and Blake and getting to know these two characters as they were with each other was an unexpected delight.
Okay, so this paragraph is going to be about me speculating about the future of this series because I have some mad theories. So this series is mostly following Davos and Blake’s children more or less in chronological order. I say more or less because Anarr and Vannos are twins and I have no idea who is the older one. So next up should be Derrick’s (whose name is spelt as Darrek in the first book and Derrick in the third one) story. Now you are probably wondering who Derrick is, Derrick is Blake and Davos’ fourth child who has been missing from most of the series because he is undergoing military training. Now knowing Blake and since this issue was addressed in Book 3, we know that Blake isn’t happy about being away from Derrick for so long. But still, the fact remains that he has been mentioned in two books out of five and all this mystery around his character has my mind going into overload because I feel that the reason we haven’t come to know Derrick is that there is a huge secret surrounding him. The wildest theory I have is the possibility that Derrick might be a girl considering Blake’s opinion on gender segregation in Tygeria this theory of mine has me going crazy because just the possibility of Blake giving birth to a girl and then having to give her up seems nigh impossible which begs the question about what would happen if Blake was indeed in such a dilemma. Yeah, crazy ass storyline but I definitely want more on Derrick, this mystery fourth son of his. Also, I feel like we will be getting to know more about Marcus Sept which I am not enthusiastic about because I want the focus of this series to remain on the Tygerian royal family and not shift to follow Marcus’ adventures in space especially if it means time off from Blake and his brood.
This book resolves the security threat that the royal family has been facing in the previous books while stilling leaving the issue of ARes open, to offer more storylines. So in a way, the next book will have lots of new things coming up in it and I can’t wait. As you can see I haven’t taken into account the fact there might not be a sixth book but, I am extremely, extremely hopeful.
A shout out to Nicarr who is like the cutest six-foot nine-year-old ever especially when he is jumping on his omak and is supremely confident that his omak will wake up for him, no matter what other people say. Blake with Nicarr and Larz is like cotton candy. I especially love the imagery of Nicarr on Blake’s lap I mean I knew Nicarr was tall but the fact that he was 6 feet to Blake’s 5 feet 9 inches puts a whole new spin on Blake’s baby. Also, this series better not end without Nicarr getting his happily ever after though the series will have to flash forward a few years for that and that particular prospect has me even more excited about Nicarr’s eventual story.
I can’t wait for the next one.
Cover Art by E Connors. I am just going to come out and say it, the cover is weird. But keeping in mind the fact that Tygerians and Moravians look so different from humans must make it hard to figure out the covers for this series.

High and Dry by author Shannon West is the fifth book in the Mate of the Tyger Prince series. This is not a standalone title. This introduces characters we already know and love. It also has a lot of politics and world building. This is a pretty complex series and the books all build on that.
I particularly love that. This is a true world I can sink into and really get attached to everyone. Cheer for the good guys and hiss at the bad guys.
There are many couples at play in this book. Redmond and Talon, Blake and Davos, along with Mikos and Ryan. I loved getting to see them again and know what they are doing now. I feel really invested in these men and really want them happy.
The politics in play also brings this story to another level of intensity and depth.
Overall a very well written series and this book is a must read for those that are following it. I cannot wait for more. I wanna know what happens next and to whom.

I like this series, but this one had a 'revelation' that I'm finding difficult to stomach. I could deal with Ryan being a straight man who, after a prolonged attachment to Mikos suddenly finds himself going gay-for-you, but this book proclaimed Blake as the same, tired trope, and I find that difficult to believe. Blake is arguably the gayest character in the series as well as my personal favorite character, so seeing him talking about his past women and how 'he's kissed plenty of women but never a man' in his flashbacks is, in a word, infuriating. This stupid straight-man-turns-gay nonsense is, sadly, abundant in MM, but I expected better from this series and this author. For me, making Blake into a gay-for-you cutout really crossed the line.

The mark against this was the fact that even though Redmond and Tallon were supposed to be the main focus of the story, they actually weren't. I wanted it to focus more on their relationship than the surrounding aspects of the universe's story. I like seeing the other characters, but this seemed very much a convenient way for the author to move forward other aspects of the story and the character universe instead of making it a story about Redmond and Tallon. That being said, Tallon and Redmond, what we did see, made me teary-eyed. Tallon is so mean and when he finally gets back at Redmond? My heart broke. The heartstrings being pulled made up a little for it not focusing more on them. Still a good read and a good addition to the series.

La familia real de Tygeria sigue luchando contra las desavenencias que la vida les pone. Están listos para celebrar la boda de Vannos y Stefan, mientras arreglan eso a Blake y Ryan les espera una reprimenda de parte de sus esposos.
Blake es el que mas afectado se vera y a través de recuerdos nos enteramos de como fue su pasado junto a Davos, Ryan y Mikos logran armonía al mismo tiempo.
También entra en escena Reymond y su atracción mutua con Tallon, los malentendidos y malas decisiones les llevaran a una situacion riesgosa, pero el como se soluciono fue muy apresurado y esa parte fue la que no me gusto.
Se lee muy rápido y deja con ganas de continuar la historia.

Dari novel kesatu hingga ke lima di seri Mate of The Tyger Prince, baru di novel High And Dry yg menurut saya lumayan bagus. Karena dari awal saya sudah penasaran dengan kisah Blake dan Davos. Sedikit banyak disini diceritakan tentang awal mereka bertemu hingga konflik yang terjadi. Selain mereka ada kelanjutan cerita pasangan roman manusia (Redmond) - moravia (Commander Tallon). Mereka juga jadi pasangan kedua favorit saya setelah Blake/Vanos.

This for me was brilliant. I have loved every one of this series but this was special. Wanted to know more of Blake’s and Dados’ story. It has it all, Paranormals, intriguing plots & of course loves & mates. Fantastic.

This is my favorite of the series by far. I really liked that this book did not focus on just one couple. We definitely got Redmond's story, but we also got Blake and Davos's story and a little bit of Mikos and Ryan thrown in.
I think my favorite part of this book was finally getting a look into Davos and Blake's back story. It was a long time coming, but definitely worth the wait. I know that Blake probably annoys some people, but I love how he doesn't back down and let his mate run all over him. He is such a bad influence on all the other mates and I just love it.
I was a bit disappointed in Tallon's and Redmond's piece of the story. I absolutely loved Redmond and really enjoyed it every time the book was based on his perspective. It was Tallon that I had a hard time liking. I won't give away any spoilers, but he did something that I personally would have a hard time getting over.
I highly recommend this book, especially if you are already a fan of the series. It feels like an ending to the series for me, but I'm holding out hope for future installments. There were a few loose ends that I would love to have tied up for me.

I liked how this book showed us a lot of how Blake ended up as King Consort, even though there were a couple of spots where the quotes taken from "Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright" still had Donovan's name rather than Blake's, and a couple of spots where Blake's name was used for both Blake's and Devos's characters.
Redmond has had so many things happen to him over the course of this series and I'm glad that he finally got his own HEA with Tallon in this book.

This installment was good. It gave us a lot more insight into Blake’s and Davos's past. However, I had hoped this book would have been a continuation of Vannos’s and Stefan’s, and Redmond and Tallon's stories. Although there was a little of that, this book was dominated by Blake’s and Davos's story. I still love this world the author has created, and look forward to the next book.

So Good
I had been waiting for Redmond's story and it was good but I have feeling his and Tallon's story isn't over. I loved how Davos and Blake's story unfolds, hinted at in past books I loved finally get the whole picture so fun, sexy, and loving. This book is an excellent addition to the series and we'll worth the read.
