INFJ Notes

No longer living in reality, living in a projection of the future (when introverted intuition goes overboard)

Learning from others = breaking out of narrow introverted intuition

We don’t like to stand out from the vibe of a room and that prevents us from expressing from our most authentic selves - we don’t wanna make waves and rock the boat. This is something I’ve got to kind of get over. Could the reason that I don't like groups be because I don’t like to blend in and because I know I STAND OUT? WOW. Play the game and put forth my real self. I don’t need to wear the cloak. Put out there who I am.

- Fondness for metaphors and symbolism

- Relationship between absorbed facts arrange itself in their brains to create a deep even awe inspiring big idea

Talkative introvert paradox
Absorbs other people's emotions easily
Enjoys talking about ideas and principles a bit more than facts
Advocates need to know they have connected with other people, not in a simple social sense, but in a deeper spiritual way (2/3) or 3/3 friends
Bosses, families, or life partners may see advocates as someone who cares too much
At their best when telling a larger truth
Great at looking at a problem from different angles
Highly likely to be more imaginative and resourceful than majority of the population
Jobs that are suitable for 80% of the population would make advocates unhappy
Being in emergency mode due to a deadline can be exhausting
Find identity and worth in the good they do in the world

Advocate: Must learn to apply to compassion they have for others to the person in the mirror

Need to meet others half way and recognize that the kind of self improvement and depth they demand is simply exhausting for many types

Find it difficult to be impersonal and detached. emotional troubles of subordinates affects them

Starting with outlines is sometimes restrictive or counterintuitive for advocates

Too many diplomats in one room equals too many guiding principles and few tactics

Should think about who I truly am and be confident that their skills and knowledge will take them

Analysts and diplomats will always find interesting things to talk about

Little tolerance for lapses in reliability or morality

Feel best when they stand up against evil, injustice and cruelty in all its forms

Advocate confidence comes from being connected to true self

Underlying desire to help others feel good about themselves

Advocates need symbols and metaphors to play with in their education, if they are to perform at their full potential

Got to keep their desire for action in check during uncertain situations

Strong intuition of advocates reveals truths that are difficult to explain

Eloquence and persuasiveness can lead to a lot of attention and popularity

Eloquent and convincing when talking about something that greatly interests them

Not typically organized for following step

Advocates shine in dealing with people rather than systems, data or tools

- When bad thoughts come into an advocates mind combined with their tendency to be idealistic and perfectionist, it can lead to self loathing

Do my best work when it combines creativity and empathy

Best advocate careers combine need for insightfulness with high degree of independence

Exert influence behind the scenes, building strong vast invisible networks of people

Prefer working with ideas rather than people

Thinking in systems is one of the advocates greatest strengths

Traditional promotional paths aren't made for advocates. - -

Working self employed may be more secure for advocates.

Must remember to not miss the little details of life while in pursuit of a goal

Advocates need a concrete how-to strategy

Thoughts about other people’s thoughts = ni going crazy

I now know why I wanted/want to be a footballer

Lives are often too full of worries that lie beyond their control or matter little in the grand scheme of things

INFJs look at things through layers

Can overthink a lot (because of the layers)

Extroverted sensing = awareness of the five senses (intuitive = thinking about the future)

Emotionally attached to people

We care more than most people (empathetic>apathetic)

The writing was often formulaic. You can tell that there is a standard template used for these. However, if this is your personality type, this guide gives some useful insights into how to practically apply ideas in different domains of your life. Some of the most useful parts involved pointing out how things that feel natural to me are, in practice, not necessarily common. That doesn't mean they are better or worse. However, it is often easy to be so used to your way of seeing and acting in the world that it's usefully surprising to be reminded that it is just one way to go through life.
