CEO and mercenary Lucian Silver is desperate to keep his defense company afloat. Taking on meddling investors was his last resort. But the mere presence of Cassandra Portersen and her watchful eye makes his blood boil—and his temperature rise. As much as he wants to hate her, he can't deny their irresistible attraction. And when Lucian discovers that Cassandra is far from the enemy he thought, he finally begins to let down his guard.
Then tragedy strikes, and Cassandra is more in danger than he could have imagined. It's up to Lucian to save the woman he didn't want around—and now cannot live without. But can Lucian fight for love when terror is knocking down his door?
Lucian and Cassandra. I liked the banter between the two. I felt that, even though we were told they'd been working together for awhile, their suddenly giving up on fighting their attraction was pretty abrupt, and not in a good way. VERY interesting take on a stalker scenario. I liked the way that Cassandra responded to danger. She kept her head about her and didn't make stupid mistakes.
Entertaining at best. The relationship between the couple started before the story sets in, which makes the "I fell in love with you" part unrelatable.
Cassandra has worked for Lucian for a while now and they never see eye to eye, but their attraction is undeniable. When Cassandra is in danger Lucian keeps her safe.
The blurb says that Lucian sees that Cassandra is not out to get him, but he gets closer to her because of a stalker. I liked the premise and the idea behind the stalker thing, and while it became know too fast for my taste, it was nice written. When they discover the danger is greater than expected Lucian tries to help Cassandra again.
While I really liked the ideas for this plot I didn't like the story all that much. The relationship between Cassandra and Lucian changes super fast. One minute they can't stand in the same room and the next they can't be appart for one minute. While I understand teh sexual part of it, the authpr made more emotional for a very short time together. The stalking / blackmailing idea was great too. It had the potencial foor a really high tension kind of book but I think both situation were resolved a bit toop quickly or easy for me.
Lucian is the CEO of Silver Industries, a defense company. Cassandra was hired as a liaison, by Lucian's brother Damien, between Silver Industries and the stockholders. She irrates Lucian and he ruffles her feathers, but actually he would like a taste of the forbidden fruit. When Cassandra is kidnapped, the mercenaries of Silver Industries take action. A good story but a lot of sex. Sorta ends in a cliffy.
Barely any conversation at the beginning. There were 13 pages of nothingness. At page 55, chapter 3 it kind of begins. I hope. Don’t like either of them. It’s like reading about a playground with 6 year olds. After skipping most of chapter 3 I gave up. Slow, boring, nothingness and did I say boring. Is all I remembered about those pages.
This was a good story. The author moves things along fast. There was so much sex scenes that I lost interest in reading about it so I skipped over most of them. It is sort of a cliffhanger, if your interested in knowing what happens to his brother
Story didn't grab me and I stopped reading when the heroine and a guy changed airline seats on board. That is so not how it can happen. After that faux pas I lost total interest in the rest of the story.
Exciting Thrilling Dramatic. This is a series and I have read a few other books, and although I don't like series and continuous stories these books at the time were free and good.
This was the first book that I have read from this author and I wasn’t impressed. The story had no real substance. The characters were flat and I found myself bored. The sex scenes were some of the worst I have ever read referring to things like her ‘sticky c***’. I’m sorry but those two words together are nothing but a turn off. There were also some annoying editing issues, like sentences with no structure or meaning, just words strung together. The entire book also makes it sound like Lucian does not have much money because of all of the focus on the shareholders and then somehow Cassandra has a three carat ring. This whole mess is a hard no, for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I actually liked this fast pace read. I really wish we got to see more of them, but I guess that’s what a short story if for. I’m still unsure whether we got to know the name of the male character or if my mind was just blocking it out. But I do know I ship both him and Mikayla.
Oooo and Priest being added to this is wonderful because he was introduced as this high figure in the Romanian mon chronicles by Kaye Blue.
This new series has began with a bang!!! Lucian may be the boss at Silver Industries but that doesn't mean he always gets his way. If so Cassandra would not be in his company. He feels he has lost control after having outside investors come in and now this interfering, intriguing woman is everywhere!! It wouldn't be so bad if he didn't find her as hot as heck.
Cassandra just wants to do her job. She understands that Lucian is uncharted waters with her but that's his problem! She was hired to do a job and everyone else at the company gets along with her just fine. But that lust-inducing, panty melting grin of his drives her nuts!
But when a stalker starts to threaten Cassandra, Lucian becomes her knight in armour.
The the sexual attraction between Cassandra and Lucian is palpable and totally HAWT! The rapport between the operatives and their boss is also fun and they can obviously see that Cass and Lucian can't! A book that reads like a movie is brilliant as you zip along at a good brisk pace. GIMME MORE!!!
