The Hollywood Reporter says this Renee Zellweger/Hugh Grant comedic hit is "full of wit, warmth and honest, knowing humor, topped off with a plethora of excellent performances." Our matching folio features 14 songs from the soundtrack, All by Myself (Jamie O'Neal) * Have You Met Miss Jones (Robbie Williams) * I'm Every Woman (Chaka Khan) * It's Raining Men (Geri Halliwell) * Just Perfect (Tracy Bonham) * Killin' Kind (Shelby Lynne) * Kiss That Girl (Sheryl Crow) * Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart) (Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye) * and more.
I read this after the first film came out so it was not with fresh eyes. Nevertheless it was a nice read something to take on holidays. In my opinion I can'nt compare this with Jane Austin apart from the character Mr. Darcy. Bridget is a single girl looking for love and self critical of her weight not a modern day Lizzy. It is funny but some times has too much information even for a diary. We do not need to know about the contents of her toilet.
It's an great book very funny. bridjet jones is a disfunctional adult with no kids or husband. her family nagging her all the time and trying to set her up on dates with men. she set a goal 4 herself to loose nine pounds, be in a fuctional relationship by next year. she only suceed one of her goals.....
Hilarious! Very modern day P&P. Made an awesome movie that I've watched a zillion times. And how clever that Colin Firth is a modern day Mr. Darcy!!! Is it just me, or is that scene of him coming out on the stairs to stop her before she leaves the "party" to say, "I like you, I really like you." just make you fall in love with him all over again.
i ve given one star cause it's really disappointed me , i ve already think that is no need for the second part cause the subject here is really really stupid i can't beleive i wasted time for this and at last she found out the he love her too wow what a stupid happy ending, cause it's always repeated and and a lot of books .
Very fun book. It was an original for its time and has been copied endlessly now. Every cover of every "chick lit" book looks the same and I avoid them!
