**** Good story of two muscled guys who need each other. **** Chef Shane is happy in his job, loves running his own restaurant, but wants that elusive thing everyone has, love. Construction is Jake's happiness, and he likes remodeling and forming new from old, but he as well, is waiting for the "one", because Jake firmly believes in love at first sight.
At a Halloween party Jake wins the costume prize, and Shane takes his hand and leads him away. Their explosive need for each other is amazing, and the next morning, they should have talked, but life got in the way.

Miscommunications, confusion, and not being honest almost cost these guys their budding relationship. We get a large cast of characters, friends, family, and they butt in, but in a good way. Jake "coming out" to his folks was sad, and Clara, showing up on Shane's doorstep hurt Jake. He should have hung around for the story, and all confusion would have melted away.
There is a lot going on, a fast paced plot, and great M/M sexiness.
The ending events will surprise you ! ENJOY !!

I feel like this is THE... FASTEST... COUPLE.... E>V>A......................

However, I want to go out on a limb and say that regardless of dynamics, I kind of like two even footed partners... just something about giving as good as getting and not having to hold back with someone 'smaller'...

The whole court fiasco with adopting... total BS setup there I'm sorry to say. For the judge to change his tune after a private word with Hannah... nope.

I was really glad that Dom and bdsm wasn't part of this story (I mean shake it up, not the same over and over and over and...) And then what happens? Shane 'thinks' to himself about discovering he's a dominant personality until another Dom showed him the pleasure of submitting and finding out he's a switch. Then how rough he and Jake get sometimes. Ugggggh couldn't just leave it with the sex we witnessed, which is not even close to bdsm elements. Just super passionate about each other.... thanks for ruining the effect.....

Yeah, I don't know. I liked most of the books in this series, but this one not so much. I don't usually mind insta-love at all (having lived it myself), but it was waaaay over the top here. Like crazy, outrageous, marriage proposal after two days (or whatever it was) crazy. Not believable at all, which is saying a lot, considering the suspension of disbelief I willingly engaged in for some of the earlier installments.

It also felt like some of the characters had degenerated into caricatures. I mean, the villains were caricatures from the beginning, of course, but some of the main characters from earlier books feel that way, too. Jesse especially.

Not sure if I'll read any further, though I was hoping to get to Syn's story at some point.

Also some minor issues with copyediting/proofreading. Not terribly bad, but more noticeable than the earlier books.

This was such a good book. It really is. I have enjoyed this series so much. This one was another tough one, though. I know a lot of people believe in love at first sight and that’s fine, but the problem is, like in this book, they move too fast. They don’t get to know each other through dates and things and don’t get that solid foundation built to weather the storms they come against. There’s some good lessons in this book, some tears, but lots of hope and love.
Shane has always been a hopeless romantic. He falls in love too fast and wants whatever relationship he’s in to be the “one”. But life doesn’t work that way. Relationships fall apart and Shane is left with a broken heart and alone. He desperately wants to find the right person, but now work is keeping him from dating. Basically running two restaurants, he has no time to even really sleep, much less anything else. But the casino is having a holiday party for Halloween and Shane goes and takes a look. Maybe he can get lucky tonight. He doesn’t see anyone that captures his attention until he looks on stage at a mouthwatering man in a skin tight pirate suit. He stands at the end of the stage, waiting for Jake to come down. When he does, he rushes Jake to Euphoria and behind closed doors, he ravishes Jake with kisses. Both so turned on, they finish like teens in their pants. They don’t even know each other’s names. They formally introduce themselves and are off for a night of passion. Both feel like the other is it for them and they start a whirlwind romance. But not having really talked much or gotten to know each other, when Shane is faced with a pregnant ex, both men jump to the wrong conclusions instead of talking it out and it now may be over. They have to find a way to communicate and get through what is going on or they’re never going to last.
I think everyone at one time wants to have someone to share their lives with. As we get older, it may change for quite a few, but there are those who desperately want someone. When Shane and Jake meet and have their night of their dreams, they feel like this is it for them. I was so happy for both of them but I had a feeling something was going to happen. And it did. Not talking things out put them both in a bad situation that almost ruined everything. And it was heartbreaking for both of them. Especially when Jake finally found out what was really going on. But Jake fought for what he believed in and that’s what made the difference. He wanted to know and wanted to talk it through. He didn’t want to give up on them, and wanted it to last a lifetime. Thankfully, so did Shane. They just had to work through what they were dealing with. And it was enough to strain any relationship. But the stuck together, worked together, and asked for help when needed. The guys all pitched in to help and another family was added. Made life a whole lot more bearable.
Another great book in this series. I’m really enjoying it so much. I hope you all are as well

Good mm romance

Shane, a chef at Euphoria and Jake, a construction worker meet and immediately connect jumping into an intense relationship. On the Eve of moving in together, a very pregnant woman shows up at Shane's door and Jake storms out. Clara came to tell Shane the twin babies are not his but that their father died and she is dying of cancer and wants him to raise her children. What a lot of drama, hurt, love and meddling friends to get to a bittersweet HEA. A good, if tearful story.

I'm really enjoying this series, this one was emotional for me as I had a friend in a similar situation. I won't post spoilers but I needed several kleenex. I can't wait to see which characters are next. I hope it's Syn but Brent and Eddie need books too!
