Dancing on the Ceiling

Rate this book
I must apologize. This is not a magical story about a girl who can dance upside down. Rather, this is a coming of age, written in poetic form. It tells the truth, all of it, the good and the bad. Nothing is left out, forgotten, or sugar-coated. If that hasn't turned you off yet, nothing will. You've been warned.

More than a coming of age story, a revelation from the point of view of the actual person while coming of age. Poetic, charming ... loaned my copy to a 13-year old who is struggling with her own identity and role as daughter, student, friend. She cried.

This book is one-of-a-kind. I've never read anything like it. It's like riding a roller-coaster while blindfolded. You're never sure what twists and turns will come your way. That being said this epic poem details the author's coming of age while adding in her thoughts about the process. The use of poetry really allows the reader to focus on the emotions that make this story so intriguing.
