I have read and reviewed a few Ketogenic Diet books, and I have to say this book is my first choice to stick with, for many causes. Author Jamie, Ken Moore, took the proper steps in laying out the information needed to understand, what this Diet is all about, bringing the facts. There are three types of Ketogenic Diets highly practiced, the author explained this rather easily. The benefits of improving overall health, admitting the fact these types of diets help with Epilepsy and many mental and health diseases. The best portion is in chapter three which serves the step procedure, significant steps to engage in developing yourself. This is a really detailed book, I enjoyed fully. Another favorite is chapter five, recipes! The author added a personal touch, revealing their own experience of desperation. I commend the author for this and it is obvious this is from the heart to help other’s succeed. Highly, highly recommended.
I have an under active thyroid and I’ve talked to my doctor about a keto diet. He told me to do some reading and see if it was something I thought I could do. This book provided not only the pros and cons of the diets itself, but the science behind it. The recipes had easy to follow instructions. The ingredients are not ones I keep in my kitchen all of the time, but I knew that going in. This is definitely going to be something that requires a mind change. The bulk of the diet of healthy “fats”. That sounds like an oxymoron. I guess time will tell once I start to see some results. I will say that the fat bombs are tasty.
Very informative and helpful. Provided meal plans to help me get started. I liked the fact that it spelled out the various stages of adjustment and what to expect, as well as how the high fat content will effect the body. I would recommend this book to anyone who is seriously looking into alternative eating habits for weight loss. I havve seen the results and want to give it a try.
But the recipes were extremely repetitive. I was hoping to find a 4 week start up menu to help guide me but this has basically 5 meals that you at in repetition. I don't imagine eating the same thing over and over will motivate anyone to stay on the diet till you get the full effects.
This was a quick and informative book that helped answer questions I didn’t even no I had. My dr recommended doing this for me out of an emergency medical need and research online was just confusing. I was able to skim over parts that weren’t so relevant to me and read this in about an hour with interruptions of laundry and people talking to me.
It gave me the information I needed to know if I could do this diet. I now know I personally could not. I don’t like counting or calculating food. I also like simple recipes with things I have in my cupboards. Author did a good job of telling you side effects of the diet to expect.
It is what it says it is...a step by step guide for beginners. All the information is readily available on the internet, but the author provides it here in case you don't have a computer. The recipes are limited. But for an inclusive book that gives the basics, this could be a good choice. My copy was written in 2016.
I love that this book has a meal plan! Most of the books I have looked at just give you a list of foods to eat, but not how to incorporate it into your daily life! Thanks!
Good description and motivation. Really should have an appendix at least with recipes for the 28 day plan! Ill have to go on the web and try to find similar recipes (which probably wont be hard, but makes this book seem a little incomplete)

This book book goes into detail about all aspects of the Ketogenic diet. I feel that it could have flowed better and been a bit more interesting. I am impressed with the amount of information in this book.
This book was a guide to beginning Keto, it was written in a personal and conversational way. It gives a breakdown of why the diet works, how to follow it and tips for making it a lifestyle.
