After reading the first book with high hopes for the second, I was a bit disappointed to find WRATH was a VERY short read. By the time I hit 50% I was pumped, this was going so well, and I was excited to see where the book went, but at 56% the book completely ends, and the rest is just previews of other books. The story did not feel complete at all, if anything it was like a tiny stepping stone to the next book. It felt as if hardly anything really happened with no contained plot for this book. Whereas the first book was clearly Mia figuring out she's a succubus and learning to deal with that, this one was just Mia learning how to feed properly, having some sexual tension with Cass that was maybe a scene or two, and then the gang trying to unearth more of Jay's secrets.

While I think all of that would have worked given another 50% of a book, I was very disappointed. While I enjoyed what there was of the story, it felt incomplete.

The story of course kept my interest, but the writing in this one could definitely still be improved with an editor/better editor. There were much more typos in this one as well than there were in 13:17, along with the same problems I had with the previous book. For example, long, almost rambling dialogue at times that felt completely unnatural.

For the characters, I enjoyed Mia's development in this book, though she seemed to get over Will EXTREMELY fast, to the point he was hardly mentioned at all after the first chapter. I also enjoyed seeing Cass and getting to know Tristan more, though I feel Tristan needs to be more fleshed out. I did feel as though Andrews should have been more present, especially with the impactful moment he has (don't wanna spoil it). This moment felt pivotal to his character, but he was hardly in the book leading up to that. And when he WAS there, such as in chapter one, where it mentions he's there, but he never says a word the entire chapter. Not even a sideways glance, or exchanged look with Mia. Nothing.

I'm interested to see where this story is going with the "immortals" aspect, especially with the new character introduced at the end, and I'm hoping the next book is more satisfying.

Where's the rest?

I loved the first book enough to pre-order the second. I was enjoying Mia's journey into self discovery when all of the sudden at chapter 10 I have nothing left but blank pages. Not a happy camper here.
