2 DEVOURED STARS

“Maddy.” I pull her face down so her lips almost touch mine. “I’m going to devour you.”

Sounds pretty good doesn't it, but for me it wasn't!
I didn't like the hero and I thought the heroine was one of those "virgin slut" who just needed add the HOT hero to become one.

She only spent one day with the hero and she was having sex with him.
DONE WITH THIS!!

description

Why was she even a virgin if she could give it up so fast to a stranger!?
Yes, he is a HOT stranger but he is still a stranger. Also, please note that the heroine was been engaged before and was in several relationships.
So how in the hello did she keep her virginity until she was 25?
And we are talking not even a BJ here!?

So again an author would have us believe that all virgins are whores waiting for a HOT guy to come along so they can be f*cked in every way there is!?

description

It was very disturbing to see her it all hang out with him and just embraces her inner whore...
Yuck!!!
I'm having a hard time not gagging here!

description

The hero, would say such passionate and sweet things one minute and then he would act like an ass.
I was thinking, "What the hello did I miss here?"

Also, story was just not working for me food wise. Those moments with the food that should have been sweet and sexy sounds like an plus size girl being encouraged to overindulge.

For me, this is made apparent with his desire to make her chocolate croissants in morning.
It goes like this...
"....My girl likes chocolate croissants, and I want her to have the best. I make the best.”
"You’re going to make my butt even bigger.” She said.
"I love a big ass. I love your ass.”

Now here is my problem, Isn't he a chef?
And he shouldn't he be encouraging healthy eating?
He also orders them 4 pizzas to eat for supper!
Isn't that a little much?
Doesn't this all sounds a little like overindulgence!?

description

Also, and I'm just asking a question here but,
Would she want him if he was overweight!?
I don't think so!!!
For me, it appeared to a case of yet another girl being encourage to overindulge while the hero works at keeping himself fit...how is that right!?

description

Honestly, the only thing I enjoyed was their banter which was fun and had sexual overtones.
Their sex was good I guess but not as intense as some. Unfortunately, for me, the hero experience showed in his behavior and attitude during their intimate moments.
He knew what would feel good and why it would work because he tired it all so many time on others it seemed, and that didn't sit well with me.

description

Nonetheless, the book did deliver in the cute and sweet epilogue department. It was nice to see them work it all out as a couple. Very sweet and that why I gave it 2 stars.

description

Safety: it's good without issues and condoms used.

Sidebar:
After watching a few episodes of my 600 pound life I always wondered how does it ever get that bad!?
And I read about enabling behavior like this and I can see how this can happen.

You know the deal with this kind of novellas: Super short, insta-love, diabetic sweet, safe.
Loved her friend Malcolm, such a nice touch.
I'm just unsure of his manwhoreness, from the beginning it was everybody's appreciation that Ripley was a manwhore, some of his inner monologues kind of confirmed it but when asked he had excuses for his lady friends but one so... Was he or wasn't he a manwhore?

This is short, sweet and enjoyable.

Maddy has everything coming from a family with money but she doesn’t take everything she has for granted and loves to help and volunteer her time to many causes. Her parents are desperate for grandchildren and try to set her up all the time. That’s how she meets her new BFF they click from the start only Malcolm is gay and they tease each other mercilessly. He sends her a gift a week of cooking classes with thee Ripley Stark! She has no cooking knowledge but it soon becomes more of an experience than she was expecting. She’s not like the other girls he’s dated could he really want her or is he playing with her?

Ripley Stark is a world renowned chef and after his sister talked him in to donating a class to an auction he finds himself stood waiting for his new recruit. Maddy is not what he was expecting at all and she blows him away with her attitude and beauty. She’s different in all the right ways but now he has to convince her that she’s the only one for him but that could be harder than he thought.

Loved it great quick read. Insta everything and loved how Maddy and Malcolm became friends. Will be reading lots more of these.

This wasn’t my favorite by this author. Not sure what it was, but I just didn’t feel the swoon.

The hero is a manwhore. Yuck. Always a turn off. I didn’t like how the hero doesn’t put OW in her place. Instead lets the heroine do all the work. No, no, no!!! If a woman makes a play for the hero and the hero doesn’t say shit, HE IS SHIT.

The heroine was ok, but kinda annoying.

Safe. Manwhore hero, with vague details of his past. Heroine is a virgin, belongs only to her hero. No others, except for catty OW. No cheating or sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue

5 FVCKING PERFECT STARS!!!
It’s not how you fold the cream. It’s the cream in the folds. I bet yours is delicious.
Oh my...

Impossibly sweet. Checked.
Simple and heart-warming. Checked.
HOT HOTTITTY HOT Hero. My very-me hero, indeed. Checked.
Almost none drama, repeat: ALMOST NONE DRAMA. Checked.
Insta-love to the TOP. Checked.
Checked. Checked. Checked.
Maximum chemistry between heroine and her gay friend (WTF??!!) LOL that's how funny this books going.
Fun hero, fun heroine, perfect chemistry from both of the main character a.k.a sexy hero and sexy heroine WTH.
“I’m sure you’re a great girl, and you’re quite beautiful, but you’re not my type.” He picks up a pen and hovers his hand over the bid sheet.
“You’ve only just met me, how do you know?” Lord, I’ve been with this guy for less than a minute and he is already retreating.
He leans in and whispers in my ear. “You have a vagina.” He writes five hundred dollars on the sheet.
“It’s worth far more than that.” I take the pen and cross out his bid and replace it with a bid of fifteen hundred.
“So are you. I’ve just told you I’m gay, and you didn’t run in the other direction.” He pulls my arm and guides me down the table.
I burst out in laughter. Out of the corner of my eye I see my mom smile. Sadly, she’ll be heartbroken again.
“Mom always taught me to keep my friends close and my enemies closer.”
He raises his baby blues at me. “Now we’re enemies?”
“A few minutes ago you were a love interest. Now you’re competition.”
His laughter reverberates through the room. It’s a genuine heart felt laugh.

Psst.... the hero can filled my croissant every time everywhere he wants. YUP. *Smug Blushing*
Spitfire heroine ------> looove this heroine's character so much. So if you are looking for crybaby, weak heroine, you wont find it HERE. Here we got strong heroine, no nonsense heroine who chew mean girls for her lunch. You did not hear me wrong, fellas. Our girl chew out mean girls for her lunch, its her says, not mine!!

*Who are you Adele Hart? I don't believe that you are a new author. You must be someone I know..... LOL*

This author quickly became my favorite author. Her trademark books: Simple sweet, smutty, HOT, happy-ending. funny to the top. Almost non-drama. Strong heroine. Simple problem almost none. Insta-love

Madison Leclerc was born into money, but doesn't flaunt it like others she knows. While out at a charity event, she is given the gift of a five-day baking class with the sexy, renowned chef Ripley Stark. When Ripley picks her up for the class, she is instantly taken aback by his sexiness. Little does she know that he's just as smitten.

Devour Me is a cute novella that is just the perfect mixture of steam and alpha male sexiness and will have you devouring it in one sitting.

This is my second read from Adele Hart, and I have enjoyed both. What has impressed me the most is her heroines are normal-sized girls who don't place too much value on their looks or the looks of others. They pride themselves in being curvy, and that's a plus in my book.

I will definitely be checking out more from Ms. Hart.

Madison is under pressure from her parents to get married and give them grandchildren. She comes from a wealthy family and instead of being spoiled and stuck up she does whatever she can to help other people. Her parents set her up on a date to a fundraiser. The date doesn't lead to romance but she gains a new best friend. Her date was Malcolm, an in-the-closet gay man. Malcolm buys her a set of cooking lessons form gorgeous chef Ripley.
Ripley isn't happy to be picking up Madison at the airport. His sister made him donate a cooking lesson package for charity. While waiting, he sees a hot woman stumble down the escalator. He catches her and wishes he could follow up on his attraction but duty calls. Then he finds out that Madison is the woman he is there to meet. Sparks fly.
This is a great insta-love story. The characters are very funny, I really enjoyed this book. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review

Syrupy sweet

Short story about a chef and a philanthropist. The amount of bakery references had me laughing out loud. Too sweet for words.

“I love you, Maddy.” “I love you too. You’re mine.” “Yours,” he says as he whips out his whisk. One look at his cock and all I want is for him to fill my croissant." Lol. 3.5 stars!

First book I read by this author. Not sure that I will read another. It was okay, but an over abundance of cheesy innuendos took away from the story in my opinion. I mean, how many times do you really want to hear things like “I want to fill your croissant” or “If you cream it too much, it will go soft”?

Red flags and internalized misogyny everywhere

Virgin h
Manwhore H
Lots of OW drama where the H doesn’t stand up for h but indulges in the attention from OW since it strokes his ego.

Women who enjoy these types of stories deserve to get dogged out by men. Go to therapy.
