Haunted by a traumatic childhood, Dallas PD Homicide Detective Camila Martinez channels all her time and energy into helping those no longer able to help themselves; finding justice for victims of the most heinous crimes. Driven to speak for the dead, Camila walled off her heart – the heart creates distractions, and distractions lead to mistakes. Camila Martinez doesn’t make mistakes.

A quintessential ladies man, Dallas Firefighter James Hurley lives in the moment, moving from the heat of a fire to the heat of a woman without a moment’s pause. At least he did, until an icy, no-nonsense detective invaded his devil-may-care world and began haunting his dreams as the one he couldn’t charm. Coincidence crossed their paths again, but official police business kept her standing her ground, and as a material witness in one of her investigations, Hurley was proving inept at melting her icy facade.

As the bodies stack up, tensions build, and soon Camila is forced to bury the pain of her past and put her trust in the one man capable of shattering every wall she’s ever built around her heart – James Hurley.

There’s a killer to be found, victims to avenge, and as Detective and Firefighter race against an unknown clock, everyone around them is at risk – for even the smallest distraction could lead the killer right to their doorstep.

If you like J.D. Robb, Marie Force, and Liliana Hart, you’ll love this action-packed romantic suspense!

Award-Winning Author Rachel Rivers writes paranormal and romantic suspense filled with gripping action and passionate love.

Understanding good and evil aren't black and white, she uses emotion-tugging stories to explore the numerous facets of gray. Intrigued by scarred souls and battered hearts, she challenges her characters to delve deep into the muck that is humanity. When she's not writing sexy stories, she's responding to 911 calls as a patrol Sergeant in a mid-size city. She's been a cop for ten years, spending the past five as a Hostage Negotiator and Lead Crisis Intervention Instructor.

She lives with her smoking hot husband and toddler triplets (who ensure she's constantly covered in all things sticky, gross, and unmentionable). She also loves training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for whatever situation the street - or her kids - may throw at her. A lover of red wine, tattoos, and hard rock music, she's down-to-earth and always enjoys spending some whoosah time in nature.

Fight for what you love. These two burn at an extremely high heat. These stories are so smart. I love that the women are strong and the men see that. Well done stories.

Outstanding!

Great book that is fantastic addition to this Kindle world. At this point I have read over 40 of the books in this Kindle world, the two by this author are the most action filled! They are so well written, fast paced, flowing storylines. The characters are so dimensional, display so much depth in so few pages!

Dallas Fire & Rescue: Flashover is my first book by Rachel Rivers, but won't be my last. Ms Rivers has delivered a well written book. This is a fairly short read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. Hurley and Camila's story is a fabulous read with plenty of drama, suspense, sizzle and humor. Ms Rivers furnished this awesome story with characters that came alive for readers and were my favorite part of the book. I loved reading Flashover and look forward to reading more from Rachel Rivers in the future. Dallas Fire & Rescue: Flashover is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Hurley and Camila had a gritty story. They’re dealing with a madman on the loose, and some really terrible people come into their circle. This story had a raw coldness to it. I enjoyed the thriller ride it took me through with the case they were investigating
