Finally the wedding day is approaching. Hannah and Hymnal arrive to complete the plans and do all the other things couples do to get ready to marry. The whole family is coming along with friends from Zebulon. Buster is falling for Hymnal's sister, much to his chagrin, Hannah's quirky parents arrive with gifts that are, shall we say, that are not your usual wedding gift. No wedding would be complete without the hilarious Gran & Papa Jay who bring along their Yorkie, Gigantor. Louie arrives with his Bull Mastiff, Critic and Hannah finds a little tyke that is abandoned and quickly names him Hazelnut.
What could go wrong? Well plenty and as usual when Hannah & Hymnal go meet the priest who will marry them at the senior retirement community they find things are not quite right. The officiating priest, Reverend Whipson, has asked her for a favor. He wants her to look into several questionable deaths. How can she say no?
Now, with the help of her new husband, Hannah must find the answers to two questions:
1st; Who is behind the serial poisoning?
And more important …
2nd: In the end, why did the priest eat a poison petit four?
Kee Patterbee has worked a secret agent woman (To be honest, she made that one up).
From an early age, writing was a passion. Working to gain post grad degrees in several fields has given her the necessary ability to pursue her dreams to become an author.
Humor and life gives her the experience she needs to take you into crime mysteries you will enjoy. Her books are well thought out and to date , her reviewers say they never figure out the “who-dun-it” until the end.
Kee lives with her husband Joe, three cats (Beckett, Mr. Castle, and Ghostie) and two Yorkies (Zippy and Doodles) in the stranger parts of Georgia.
When not writing, they are in pursuit of roadside attractions, spooky places, chicken wings and the perfect chili cheese dog with slaw and a side of onion rings. It is a joyful pursuit. To be notified when the next releases are coming:
I so enjoyed this mystery full of intreage and humor as well a touch of a budding romance and romance. The caracters are vibrant, cheeky, intelligent and caring for each other as well as those found along the way Kee Patterbee is an amazing storey teller and writer of high caliber that draws you into this mystery with each passing page ,keeping you enthralled with the suspence of who done it and what's coming .I highly recommend any mystery reader to aquier a copy and start enjoying this mystery as much as I have. ☺😮🤔🙄😊Kat
Wonderful book, Agatha Christie wonderful. Like Madam Christie the clues are given, dug up, or just land in your lap. The pieces are there, but there is still the problem of putting them together, only to discover some are missing. Love the mental gymnastics that make this book such a good read. First ever of the Hannah murder mysteries, but not the last. Thank you Ms Patterbee.
nice cozy mystery only one thing that I didn't like(it just got a little tiresome) all the explanation about each character (tall, slim blonde etc. a little was okay but got tiresome after awhile. It was almost like she was just trying to add words to get to a certain amount. But the story was good and believable.
Well, this was one of the few times I read the last book first. I was intrigued by the characters and their 'quirks.' I found the locations interesting. The crime was a head-scratcher also.
I will definitely go back to read the first two volumes. Hope many more are coming.
Getting married and going on a honeymoon has never been more complicated. Hannah and her fiance can't seem to make it through the ceremony and go on the honeymoon.
The Priest Who Ate A Poisoned Petit Four is the first book I've read by Kee Patterbee. It is the third book in her romantic mystery series featuring former FBI agent turned culinary consultant/detective Hannah Starvling.
Patterbee's who-dunnit tale, which can be read as a stand alone book, was quite challenging to solve. The book moves at a steady pace allowing the author ample time to develop both her characters and the plot. The numerous plot twists and turns kept me on my toes three-quarters of the way through the story!
I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Hannah and Hym are on the case again, and it's interrupting their wedding and honeymoon... another page turner that I couldn't put down! Can hardly wait for the next one! Please hurry and get it published Kee!
Enjoyed this book tremendously. Loved the Variety of characters and having the grandma getting involved really added good comedy. Lots of suspects to eliminate and good intertwining of lives. Ready to read another in this series.
Diversity...some people rise above it and change their lives. Others wallow in it and look for revenge. This book brings both, even to the point of easily explainable deaths or are they in fact murder. A good book by a new author for me. Looking forward to reading more by Kee Patterson.
