Private Prodigy Eye - Three Books in One Dead is the New Alive Sylvie Thomas, 33, gets her chance at detective work when she hires on as assistant P.I. to Adam Clay, a 15-year-old genius. Though she carries the gun and drives the car, her real job is to keep him from winding up over someone’s knee since he irritates almost everyone he meets. When they hire a young man to act as Adam at an award ceremony, someone kills the stand-in Adam. Sylvie and Adam must help catch his own murderer. Adam’s father is shot by a perhaps related sniper shooting before Adam can get back to Dukes County, TX. Blocked by an acting sheriff from helping with the investigation, Adam has to go vigilante and learn to cooperate with others. With a predator on the loose and few clues to follow, Adam and Sylvie know that at any moment they may themselves end up in the killer’s crosshairs. She Had Me at Hello Adam Clay’s one redeeming feature has been his cold logic, and reclusive ways, but now his interest in gourmet cooking and a contest run by a dimple-cheeked female host of a cooking show combine with his budding hormones to lure him out into the open, only to have one of the judges drop dead. The recipe was for murder. Sylvie must contend with Adam’s sudden interest in the other gender as well as a murder in her own Texas hometown. Death Wears Cowgirl Spurs Adam Clay has often told Sylvie Thomas that nature is something that belongs outdoors. He is far from a happy wrangler when they go to a dude ranch to ride horses across damp and muddy fields after a night of rain. When they come across the body of one of the ranch’s hands, an airfield out at the far corner of the property, and discover the neighbors to the south acting more than a little on the prod, they decide there’s a whole lot of something going on here. They just don’t know what. They also find out that someone wants them to find out no more than they already have, and is willing to kill to make their poking stop.

Three novels in one book. The stories follow the 15-year-old Adam and his assistant Sylvie in solving the murder mystery cases which turn out there are more than just murder cases.
Dead is the New Alive is the first novel, which I like the most. The story follows the unraveling of the death of the innocent young man Adam has paid to pose as him in a book award. Here, the interesting main characters are introduced in a way that makes them memorable. This story has great plot, more twists and turns than the next two novels, that kept me reading to the end.
She Had Me at Hello is the second novel which follows the uncovering the death of a weatherman. And Death Wears Cowgirl Spurs is the third book following the mystery of the death of three people in Sylvie's hometown. Both novel has genius plot and more character development, especially Adam.
The profound detective work, some humor and romance make each story alive.
I recommend this book to readers who love mystery/detective novels.
I voluntarily read and review a free copy of this book.
Fun read. Teenage prodigy, smarter than most adults just kept solving murder after murder with the approval of his dad and the Texas Rangers, etc. From one problem to another, all of them solved. I liked it. Was entertaining.
Fabulously fun read - a fifteen-year-old prodigy and solves the crimes. He has to hire a driver who also gets to carry the gun. Funny concept and good entertainment.
Not KU, think I got it through free book site, more than likely though one of the we give it to you free and it would be nice if you reviewed it. Of course I never ask for anything don't want to read just because it's free. This is a 3 set of mysteries, definitely a bit different, and well worth the read.
Absolutely fantastic. I didn't realize this was over 400 pages of 3 stories--so glad it was. This author crated 3 very different stories with both reacurring and new characters--each with a distinctive voice and manner-- in every story. Besides the main plot each also had side cases to be solved. Intelligent, complicated and humorous. Relationships and growth. Need more in the series!
