It's a zombie kitten apocalypse! Can the Bad Guys save the world from evil Dr. Marmalade's meowing monsters?!? They'll need help from foxy Agent Fox, a swampy secret zombie antidote, and the feistiest, toothiest, hungriest granny around. Get ready to watch the fur fly!
Aaron is an Australian author of children's books and artist who until the mid-2000s was also an actor. His award winning picture books include Pearl Barley and Charlie Parsley, The Ghost of Miss Annabel Spoon and the best-selling Pig the Pug.
In the field of acting, he is probably best known for his lead roles in two television dramedies, 1994's The Damnation of Harvey McHugh, for which he won an Australian Film Institute Award, and 2003's CrashBurn, before retiring from performance in 2005.
The bad good guys are getting attacked by the zombie kittens, zittens. Marmalade has escaped and Agent Fox wants to follow Marmalade as well as get a cure for the zittens but she can only be in place at a time so she sends Mr. Piranha and Mr. Shark to follow Marmalade to the an island whilst she goes to Granny Gumbo for an antidote for the zittens.
I liked this but not as much as I have liked others books in the series so far. I did love Mr. Piranha and Mr. Shark's adventures and the illustrations were quite good.
Bad Guys spend the book battling and trying to get the cure for the zombie kittens, zittens! Lol...They have to get the help from a strange old granny, great laughs!
Absolutely diabolical. Absolutely hilarious. This is one of my favorites in the series to date because Snake had me HOLLERING. I absolutely adore this series for the humor and I'm excited to see what's going to happen in the next installment.
These are just such mental fun to read aloud (plus lots of space for accents - my Southern granny trucker impression was a hit). The only problem is they're over so quickly!
This book was really really funny! As with all of the bad guys books it always ends on a cliffhanger. You really do need to read the books in order to understand them.

#trebacitat
Those do-gooding bad guys - Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Legs the tarantula - are back in this fourth beginning chapter-book/graphic-novel devoted to their adventures, this time confronting the horrific zombie-kitten army unleashed by their guinea-pig nemesis, the evil mad scientist Dr. Marmalade. Agent Fox once again makes an appearance, much to the delight of the smitten Mr. Wolf, and together with some of the companions, seeks the help of Granny Gumbo, an old alligator with the requisite knowledge to create an antidote to Dr. Marmalade's zombification process. That cavine villain, in the meantime, escapes from under the nose of a disguised Mr. Shark and Mr. Piranha, and blasts off into space in a rocket ship...
Much like its predecessors, The Bad Guys in Attack of the Zittens - originally published in Australia as The Bad Guys in Apocalypse Meow - pairs a hilarious adventure story, full to the brim with snappy dialogue and madcap misadventures, with amusingly expressive cartoon-style illustrations. The characters have really taken shape at this point, with each one having his one specific characteristics - Mr. Wolf's irrepressible optimism and faith, for instance, or Mr. Shark's penchant for disguises that somehow always seem to work, even when they shouldn't - that make him stand out to the reader. I enjoyed this installment of author/illustrator Aaron Blabey's ongoing series immensely, and had no sooner finished it, than I was reaching for the sequel, The Bad Guys in Intergalactic Gas. Recommended to anyone who has read and enjoyed the first three Bad Guys books.
These books are so goofy. This time, the Bad Guys are trying to stop Dr. Marmalade's army of zombie kittens. Luckily, they have help from an alligator with allergies. Unluckily (for Mr. Snake, anyway), she has a hankering for snake meat.
I think I enjoyed this one a little more than the last installment. We still ended on a cliffhanger and Dr. Marmalade is still in the wind, but the Bad Guys are on it.
Dr. Marmalade has just unleashed an infestation of zombie kittens to the world but with the help of their new friend Agent Fox, the gang manages to find a solution to stop his nefarious plan but only to hit an unexpected snag. A- (91%/Excellent)
My daughter wanted me to read the book before she reads it (she was afraid to get scared). I liked it quite a bit! It's funny, with just the right amount of suspense and adventure. Stay tuned to see if my 9 years-old loves it or not!
Now that The Bad Guys 2 will be coming to the big screen soon, I thought I'd jump back into the graphic novels. It's been awhile since I've read book 3, but this was still a lot of silly fun. It goes so fast.
Read this one with my six year old. We were taking turns reading pages but he got so caught up in it he kept reading to me. Then he got a serious case of the giggles about halfway through. This series is a hit at our house. Looking forward to the next!
140 pages. This is a graphic novel. Mr. Blabey has really outdone himself this time! What funny illustrations! I was amazed at how many illustrations he has produced in just one book! This episode is very funny. I think almost as funny as the first one. This episode features some ferocious felines and one crazy guinea pig bent on destruction. Granny is very funny. I most enjoyed it when Granny keeps calling Mr. Snake - Grub! What a wacky sense of humor Mr. Blabey has. Kids are going to LOVE this one. In fact, today when I put the other copies out in my library they were jumping up and down and asking over and over, “Can we really check out those NEW BAD GUYS books over there????” When I told them yes, I was afraid there was going to be a stampede! I can’t wait to hear what they think! Highly recommended for Grades 2-5. Bravo! Boys will especially love this series.
Another entertaining entry in a rather silly series that young readers are bound to find hysterical. Mr. Shark, Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, and Legs (a spider) are up to their necks in zombie kittens. But with the help of the beautiful Agent Fox there may be a way to eliminate the threat. But it will take all the disguises, courage, and patience they can muster. Unfortunately for Mr. Piranha that means wearing a bikini and for Mr. Snake, donating venom to the crazy alligator lady with the antidote. But will it be enough to defeat Dr. Marmalade's evil plan? This is a fun series for reluctant readers who aren't ready for anything very serious. The book seems more difficult than it is, with most pages having only a few sentences at most. The illustrations make the book a winner for young readers.
Another great episode of The Bad Guys, continuing the story from The Furball Strikes Back. This had been rivetted (and in stiches) from start to end. The story doesn't finish here so what's my next step? Straight into Episode 5 to see what happens next!
This volume has more gross-out humor than the previous Bad Guys books, and I found Shark and Piranha's hilarious side quest to be a welcome reprieve. As always, the dialogue is snappy and the illustrations are wonderfully expressive.
