Great devotional that doesn’t take a lot of time. I did a chapter a day except for a few doubles when I was feeling like I needed more. I’ll reread it again!
I purchased this book from Amazon to read with my sister. All opinions are my own. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 From Grouchy to Great: Finding Joy in the Journey of Motherhood by Ruth Schwenk. As a Mom of six kids ages ranging from 6 to 24 I will say it's easy to get grouchy, crabby, and frustrated, and you know what....the kids will survive it and so will you. But as Moms it is so easy to let the anger steal your moments of joy. This daily devotional helps you find that joy again. There are study questions and bible references that help you remember God chose you to raise that child and only you could do it. Finding that joy reminds us it's ok to get grouchy but remember be humble. It takes a village! This is such a good resource to let you know you are not alone in some of your feelings of being overwhelmed and stressed and etc. when motherhood gets tough! lots of good resources and places to look in the Bible to help you be a better mom!!
More than just a good devotional with inspirational messages. Do not let the short and simple format fool you! There are deep points and questions worth exploring in personal reflection as well as part of a group study.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it. However, there was a chapter here and there which seemed mediocre. There were also a few typos throughout the book. Overall it was a blessing and challenge.
Absolutely loved this devotional! So many of the chapters touched home for me in more ways than one and has taught me so much on how to handle my grouchiness when it arises. I have already seen a change in myself and I pray I can continue to grow and not back track.
Convicting & practical devotional for Moms, especially Moms of littles. Quick read & longer pondering! There were a couple days I didn’t agree with, but that is minuscule compared to the rest of the content.
I really enjoyed this book! I feel like using the strategies referenced in the book has really helped me to overcome some Motherhood struggles. It also opened my eyes to the fact that everything I'm going through and feeling is experienced by other Moms out there and I'm not alone!
Not deep but practical. Helps you focus on working through this area of your life if you struggle with anger as a Mom. A short illustration followed by a few application questions.
Relatable devotional with good grounding points. I completed this in a ladies study group and the questions at the end of the chapters generated good discussion.
