This is a really good little book of encouragement.
Charles Spurgeon is a name known to many Christians: he was a 19th century Baptist preacher famed for his sermons and oratory. This book 'lightly edits' his words into very short devotions which are all prefaced by a Bible verse and end with a prayer.
Part of the special beauty of this book lies in its being as described, three-minute devotions: you can pick this book up when you wake, before you go to sleep and at as many points during the day as you need or want to, without losing your place - pick a devotion at random or by heading. The devotions are deep enough to satisfy but short enough to be tackled as you make dinner, after you park the car or during a work tea-break. A lifeline.
Charles Spurgeon is one of, my favorite religious writers. I prefer short daily devotionals. With three minute devotionals, I can read more than one day or do more research on my own if I have more time. When I am pressed for time the 3-minute devotions keeps in in the word consistently. I enjoyed this book. The verses chosen were very relatable and provided great insights.
