This is a very simple and practical book, with clear, concise and direct instructions on how to being happy.
This is a 10 step process
1) taking charge of your own life. Let no one, and no one else should tell you what to do or how you should live your life. You must be in complete control of the steering wheel.
2) let it go: letting go of everything which has to be gone from our lives. It can be people, things, habits, jobs, or anything else hindering us from leading a fulfilling life
3) live for now: many people are unhappy as they keep pondering and thinking about what they wish to achieve, what they want in thee lives and thus, forgetting to live and enjoy in their present state of mind and lives.
4) expect the best: in this example, being optimistic is an utter understatement. Always expect the best to happen to you. When you tell urself that it would never happen, chances are that it won't happen. But on the bright side, if you tell urself it would happen, you would definitely stand a better chance, and being optimistic would in turn lead to happiness.
5) back yourself: you would have to stand up and back yourself up. Yes, true that it may or may not suffice. However, if even you're not willing to back yourself, what makes you think that others would back you up in times of needs. Even if the whole world goes against you, believe in yourself and stay true to your values, and don't forget to smile (:
6) get out of the way: there are stuff in our lives that we know are bad for us, people who are no good for us, and most importantly thoughts which are detrimental to us. We must find a way somehow, to get out of these vicious cycles.
7) be grateful: always be thankful for what you have, reflect on all the things which we posses, material or intangible assets, people in our lives that we're grateful for. Take some time in our lives, away from our busy schedules to take time to think back on whatever we have. And most importantly, do not compare with what others have that we don't, and vice versa. Owning something is a privilege, not a comparison.
8) give all you can: always give it your best shot. The feeling of knowing you tried your bestest is really the most awesome feeing you can ever have.
9) keep it up
10) be brave
Most importantly, being happy is not a privilege, it's something everyone deserves.
