The kindness of God provides us with all the grace and knowledge we need to arrive at that eternal Beatitude to which he calls each one of us. Occasionally, he even bestows extraordinary apprehensions on certain holy mystics, in order to give us a glimpse of realities beyond our everyday perceptions, thereby inspiriting us to run in the paths of his goodness toward our perfect fulfillment . . .
The first book was published in French as Manuscript on Purgatory by Sister M. de L. C. The second book is by St. Catherine of Genoa, Treatise on Purgatory . At the end is a Note about Revelation vs. Spiritism, which includes a quotation by Fr. Gabriele Amorth, world-renowned exorcist, on the dangers of spiritism.
Both of these manuscripts are private revelations and hence are not binding on the faithful, but both of these documents have been examined by theological experts and found to be free of doctrinal error.

Marie de la Croix (* 1. Dezember 1840 als Elisa Sophie Clementine Hébert in Néhou-Saint-Georges bei Coutances, Frankreich; † 11. Mai 1917 in Cherbourg, Frankreich) war eine französische Ordensschwester und Mystikerin.
Mit 18 Jahren trat sie in das Kloster der Schwestern vom Kreuz in Valognes und begann am 3. Februar 1859 ihr Noviziat. Am 8. Mai 1860 wurde sie eingekleidet und legte am 15. Mai 1861 legte die Profess ab. Sie lernte Zeichnen und Musik und wurde Lehrerin. Im Jahr 1885 wurde sie zur Mutter Präfektin gewählt. Dieses Amt hatte sie bis zur Aufhebung des Klosters im Jahr 1904 (aufgrund der kirchenfeindlichen Politik Frankreichs) inne. Von 1874 bis 1890 hatte sie mystische Erfahrungen und Visionen des Fegefeuers, die sie niederschrieb. Diese erfuhren durch die Bruderschaft Unserer Lieben Frau vom Guten Tod eine weite Verbreitung in vielen Sprachen. Nach der Auflösung des Klosters lebte Sr. Marie übergangsweise bei ihrer Cousine in Vauvicard; danach wurde sie Sakristanin der Kapelle der Kleinen Schwestern der Armen in Cherbourg. Für diese Kapelle erhielt sie von Papst Pius X. eine persönliche Erlaubnis für die ständige Aussetzung des Allerheiligsten.

A short and interesting read regarding purgatory. Two small treatices combined into one book. The first half is the experience of a soul in purgatory, and the second a short discourse on purgatory. The writing is of an older style, but not a burden to get through. Not a book that has to be read, but one that helps to grow in Faith. I'll read this again at some point.

This was a great book and while some people may see this one as one that does not need to be read, I beg to differ. Reading this book should help you in some way to choose to do better so as to not arrive at your death meriting Purgatory. I know this made me want to do better. Please pick up this book and read it as soon as possible!!
