Witchy Fingers #3

Witchy Possessions

Rate this book
The Flummox witches have finally landed their first client, a young mother who’s possessed by a ghoul. As Edelie, Estrella and Ernestine try to free Valerie Gabby of her unwanted guest, however, they quickly discover there’s a lot more at stake here than a mere possession. Someone wants Valerie dead, and will stop at nothing to accomplish that goal. And when their second client, world-famous rock star Petunia Hudson, turns to them to organize her own death, it soon becomes clear they’ve accepted an assignment that just might be a little trickier than they first imagined. Gran refuses to help them, as she has vowed to let her granddaughters clean up their own mess from now on, and not to interfere in any way. Skip, ex-baker and jack-of-all-trades, can’t help them either, nor can Sam Barkley, NYPD Detective, who comes sniffing around Safflower House, wondering why suddenly so many dead bodies start showing up around the three sisters. Will they have what it takes to vanquish no less than two nasty ghouls and give their very first client her life back? And what is the connection between Valerie and Petunia, the enigmatic rock star? Find out in Witchy Possessions, the third book in the funny Witchy Fingers series of cozy witch mysteries.

Nic has a background in political science and before being struck by the writing bug worked odd jobs around the world (including but not limited to massage therapist in Mexico, gardener in Italy, restaurant manager in India, and Berlitz teacher in Belgium).

When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.

He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.

A bit more of an actual storyline to this one

Still a madcap adventure but with a bit more of a plot even if it does feature the most inept witches of all time. Think Inspector Clouseau and multiple by a thousand. A plot of an urban housewife who suddenly finds herself possessed by a ghoul and an aging music icon who wants to fake her death so she can take on a new identity and live quietly in Aruba. The end result real murder. But who, how and why? Can they sort it out (with Gran's help naturally)?

Fun read.

What can I say? Betrayal, suicide? No,murder, robbery, ghoul attacks, runaway clones, ghosts and witches not very good at their craft. A fun read. You won't be sorry.

Wit his Possessions

Fun story but those goulash guys had me worried for a while. Especially with the three untrained witches trying to figure it out b

Slow

I'm sorry to say I had a hard time getting into this book. I read it in fits and starts with lots of switching to other books. Maybe it's just me, but it seemed awfully slow. There is a plot, and a fairly good one, but the Flummox sisters are so inept that they just mill about until circumstances catch up with them or Gran rescues them. There are a few light hearted moments but the story is not especially comic. We are on book three and the sisters are still completely useless, not only as witches but in any human job as well. Sorry, Nic Saint, but the sisters need to get a clue in order to keep holding our attention.

Well, I loved this follow on story of the Triplets!! Trainee witches but will they every really know what they are doing? the girls have all lost their jobs so decided to open their own business--protection!! They also have a normal guy Skip to help them. The first client shows up at the house early and has a serious problem--lucky Gran is there. The girls then have to find out what is going on with this lady and why. At the coffee shop they call Skip so they can try out a spell on him and of course it goes wrong--how many Skips can there be!! So they move to Central Park to try out their spell and it gets even worse and again Gran saves the day. In the meantime they get client #2 who was a singer and now wants to do something crazy and needs the girls help--hahahaha. This is a fun and exciting and can you guess who did it book. I love the triplets and the cop's, Gran and Skip. The way the cops are written makes me think of Agatha Raisin books. Fun story I highly recommend.

So so

I like the concept behind this series. The characters are confusing starting with their names.. it seemed that they only solved the mystery by accident
