The Prodigals

Rate this book
In these eleven beautifully crafted stories, Jacob Wrich cuts right to the heart. Set in the Midwest over the course of one year, The Prodigals takes us deep into the lives of its interrelated characters as they endure both tragedy and triumph. From a young Japanese-American girl growing up in post–World War II Minnesota to a famous playwright’s attempt to write one last play after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, Mr. Wrich finds both humanity and humor.

This collection of stories is beautifully written. The stories show grief, humility, isolation, and season changes. Wonderful characters and settings. I highly recommend!
