And the Lightning Strikes

Rate this book
Will love strike twice?
After losing the woman he loves to his brother and experiencing unspeakable trauma, Daniel Lone Wolf leaves Chance City to escape the constant reminders of his tumultuous past. However, the clouds of pain follow him no matter where he goes.
Meeting sweet, beautiful Annie Devlin is like being struck by a lightning bolt from out of the blue, and Daniel is instantly drawn to her goodness and kind heart. She’s full of pluck and surprises—like the fact that she’s raising her nephew and nieces on her own.
He might not wear shining armor, but Daniel is Annie’s knight in buckskin and moccasins. The tall, blue-eyed Comanche comes along when she most needs a miracle. He’s irresistible and breezes into her world with the force of a summer storm, bringing a tempest of passion with him.
When Daniel’s famous reckless nature lands him—and Annie—in hot water, there’s only one thing to do: take her and the kids and go home to Chance City. Having Annie and the children in Daniel’s life is a godsend and things are looking up for all of them until his past finally catches up to him. Can Daniel and Annie cling to their hope for a happy future, or will the raging storm forever separate them?

Writing has been a passion of mine since I was in high school. I attended Full Sail University, where I honed my craft. I live in Pennsylvania and I’m an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I enjoy singing and performing in theatrical endeavors when I’m not writing.

I'm currently writing two series: The Chance City Series (Sensual Western Historical Romance) and The Paha Sapa Saga (Sensual Native American Romance). I have other projects coming this year and I'll keep you up-to-date on them.

My stories are sensual, but although my love scenes are spicy, they aren't overly graphic. I no longer have sweet versions of my books available. Sorry for any inconvenience that causes. Regarding the way I use POV: I'm a former script writer and I write my books as though they are a TV episode or a play. You'll "see" each character's reaction to other characters or whatever is going on in the story.

Although each of my books includes a complete HEA and can be read as a stand alone, it's best to read them in order since I have an ensemble "cast", with characters from earlier books appearing in each of the books as each of the series continues.

Thanks for stopping by my page and spending a little time with me! Sign up to receive email alerts about my new releases at www.robindeeter.com, stop by my Facebook page, and check me out on Twitter and Pinterest, too! Reviews on my books are always very appreciated!

Worth the Wait!!!

When I read When Thunder Rolls, my heart broke for Daniel because life seemed to take great pleasure in trying to break him. When I found out that And the Lightning Strikes was live I was ecstatic!! Now it was Daniel's turn. And, oh boy, Robin Deeter did NOT disappoint. I am a huge fan of Robin's. I have been since the very first book in the Chance City series, which is a spin off from Kirsten Osbourne's (also an incredible writer) Mail Order Bride series. While each book in the series is a stand alone it's much better if you start with book one and read through in order. Daniel's story actually begins in When Thunder Rolls, but you don't have to read it to enjoy And the Lightning Strikes.
Daniel has been through hell and he's not out yet. He's struggled for so long to survive and maintain his sanity. It became so hard for him to pretend he was ok that he left home to "find himself". While visiting a local saloon in the town he's staying in he meets Annie, a barmaid/waitress. He's so taken with her, he asks her to spend private time with him, thinking she's a soiled dove. She's desperate for money to support her family and says yes even though she has never done this before. Daniel, sensing how innocent Annie is stops them from progressing yet still pays her when he learns of her family situation. Even though nothing happened, thanks to Annie's boss' big mouth, everyone thinks she "slept" with Daniel and now all the men start harassing her to have sex with them. When Daniel finds out, he publicly pretends to stake his claim on Annie not realizing that when he leaves town things will become way worse for her. When Annie points out to Daniel what will happen when he leaves, he offers to marry her and be a father to her children. Stunned at first, she finally agree and they plan on heading to Chance City and Daniel's family in 2 weeks. A couple days later, Daniel ends up in serious trouble when he defends Annie and they have to leave town immediately.
How will Daniel's family receive Annie and her kids? Has Daniel made the biggest mistake of his life, asking Annie to marry him and raise the children together? Will the trouble follow them back to Chance City? Will Daniel finally be able to defeat his demons?

A wonderful story

Daniel Lone Wolf is fighting many demons in his life. He meets Annie and her family and he is instantly drawn to them. He brings Annie and the children back home with him to be with family. Will the past haunts keep them apart or will love heal all wounds. This books was hard to put down because Robin Deeter keeps you so involved it the story. I look forward for more story from Robin.

This author is a gift to humankind.

I have loved this entire series. These are all stories of substance that deal with life challenges with insight from varying cultures. They are all written with intelligence and grace.

A little polishing by a proofreader would benefit these tales, but I recommend each and all of them.

And the Lighting Strikes

This was an awesome book to read. Daniel had left home for a while. When he meet Annie at a saloon. She takes him up stairs. When Daniel realized that she was a virgin, he stops, but pay's her anyway.
