“process of the narcissist can be summed up with these three thoughts: It’s all about me Other people are “paper people” and do not matter The rules don’t apply to me”
― Dr. Decker, Trump's Brain: An FBI Profile of Donald Trump: Predicting Trump's Actions and Presidency

My review:

People, this is a really good book. Excellent in fact.

It was written right before Trump took office. The writer gives us readers a complete psychological profile of what his Presidency will be like. He also profiles Trump using FBI profiling techniques.

I loved this. The author, himself a Profiler, accurately predicted so much. He could not have known about Covid-19 at the time this was written but man, does he dissect Trump. It was chilling and fascinating reading.

I wish I knew the writer and knew him when I was younger because he'd have been great in terms of stopping me...and I'm sure many of you...from making some of the more foolish decisions we've made.

I am actually glad I read this after and not during Trump's presidency because reading it during would most likely given me a kind of despair which I already had for four years.

This is a short and concise book which should be required reading for anyone who either wants to know more abut profiling or wants to know more about Narcissism. I will be reading more from this author as his writing style is right up my alley.

Excellent.

Incredible,

Everything that was predicted in this book already happened or happening. It was written before he even set foot into the Oval office, released just three days after. Read this very short book and be prepared.

Trump's Brain: An FBI Profile of Donald Trump: Predicting Trump's Actions and Presidency by Dr. Decker is a great book I was thoroughly engrossed in. This is written by a FBI profiler and put out of before Trump was sworn in. Everything he said was right so far. He did say Trump would be accused of corruption of justice but gets off and not impeached. I hope this part is not true. It is a short book and does not have any opinions, just facts based on personality profile. Great book.

Questionable

Almost all of this book has already happened, except for his not getting re-elected.The author states the publication date well into the text. I saw no predictions that show what specifics are going to happen next year. The diagnostic criteria was more professionally done by Laurence O'Donnell, than the author who claims to be a Psychiatrist.I think this book is possibly a scam, but the information itself is accurate up to March. It reads more like a news summery up to March twenty fourth, not written by a health professional.I would not recommend this book, even though I am an avowed Trump critic.

While I know Trump is a narcissist and some of the info in the book is correct, it is so poorly written it end up being embarrassing from the perspective of a psychologist. With that said, Trump is a dangerous, erratic, mentally unstable individual so I agree with the author on that point.

Well this was a waste of time. Predicting trumps behaviour just didn’t work on this book. Claiming he would drop bombs on North Korea etc WRONG. In fact he is only president for a long time not to start a war so yeah biased in my opinion.

Frighteningly accurate

This book is a fascinating and extremely quick read. It provides an amazing profile of the classic narcissist which also happens to include the president. I highly recommend this in order to understand the nature and behavior and future behaviors of a narcissist.

The author left me stunned, amazed, open-mouthed. When you recall this book was written BEFORE Trump took the USA presidency, the way he described what Trump would do, think and act as president in simply unbelievable. I'd pay to know where he hides his crystal ball. I would also like him to make this analysis to more politicians, it would be very healthy for the american people.

The Narcissistic Nightmare from Hell.

The book cover serves as a good draw towards the belief that a reader will share exemplary viewpoints that do not exist with Donald Trump. The opening definition was perhaps the most varied assessment of human behavior, as it presents most thorough descriptions of many definitive characteristics of someone diseased with narcicism; a serious mental illness which has resulted in the deaths of many.

Knowing someone afflicted with narcissism is serious and dangerous enough. Having the head of a company with the disease can be a nightmare. But having a narcissistic president was a nightmare from hell.

I would like to start with a quote from the third chapter of TRUMP'S BRAIN:

"For the record, the day of this writing is January 19, 2017. Donald Trump’s inauguration is tomorrow. This book will be completed and published on Amazon by Monday January 23rd, thus you can easily determine if these predictions have come true if you are reading this in the months/years that follow."

This means that nearly everyone who reads this will have some 20/20 hindsight to bring to the table. I read this on November 23, 2019 (it is a very fast read); therefore, I have 2 years, 306 days, of observing this presidency. I am also native to New York City, so I remember the reports on Page 6.

Dr. Decker (a pseudonym by his or her own admission) has written a matter of fact report, styled on an FBI profilers report, that is unbiased and quite informative. There is quite a bit to unpack in this book, so one more quote to help with perspective:

"In his book Dangerous Personalities, author and former FBI agent David Navarro explains that there are four personality types that are responsible for much of the crime and difficulty on our planet. Thus there are four separate personality profiles for each that the FBI uses. These personality types are Narcissist, Predator, Emotionally Unstable, and Paranoid."

From this, we see that the profiling of the 45th president is being examined from the viewpoint of personality types associated with crime. Dr. Decker immediately eliminated three of the four and proceeds only with the personality type Narcissist.

I learned what it is that makes a person a narcissist and was not surprised at my ability to tick the boxes next to all of them in the context of the current leader of the free world.

The final chapter contains Dr. Decker's predictions about that which would occur during the four years following inauguration. I would say that his predictions were about 75% correct. I would assess higher marks, but a couple of the things that seem incorrect to me are pretty substantial.

TRUMP'S BRAIN provides insight into profiling and how a profile can predict actions. I found it a worthwhile read.

Short, clear analysis & prediction of Trump Presidency

This book is succinct, accurate, factual and non-political. I'm familiar with the medical definition of a narcissist and I think this book explains it well to those who don't know much about narcissistic behavior. This book leaves no room for doubt that Trump is a narcissistic; if you're looking for a book that debates details or quibbles on the main issue (whether Trump actually fits the definition of a narcissist), this book isn't for you.

However, if you want to understand what a narcissist is, what's wrong with Mr. Trump, &/or what to expect from his unconventional, chaotic, and concerning presidency, it's worth a read.

The info is organized. First, it describes narcissistic traits and motivations. Second, it lists general behaviours that narcissists exhibit. Third, and last, it uses the aforementioned narcissistic traits & Mr. Trump's past behavior to predict Mr. Trump's actions during his presidency.

Bottom line: Recommend if you want a fast, easy to read, clear, concise, accurate explanation, analysis & prediction of our current POTUS's narcissism and how it will affect his presidency.

Wow! Profile is 100% correct

As I read the description of a narcissistic personality, I could think of examples of Trump's behavior with almost all listed traits. Though written at the time of inauguration, many of the author's predictions related to Trump's behavior are already happening!

Fascinating and amazing

Not only incredibly fitting descriptions, but the predictions for Trump's presidency are already happening during the first four months! I'm astonished at the accuracy.

President Trump’s Brain analysis.

This analysis is scary because it is so accurate! I have set the presidents effective emotional and moral age at 9 years old. My apologies to actual 9 year olds.

I grabbed this when it was on sale for a buck, so I figured I'd indulge myself for a bit. I bought it, read the forward--which takes up the majority of the book--and then let it go for a while as I read other, more interesting books. Then I went back in and finished up the rest in about 20 minutes.

The anonymous author gives us a very broad introduction to psychopathology and the array of traits that can be a part of a narcissitic psychopathic personality. If you are anti-Trump, you will find a lot of the traits as synonymous with Trump right away, so the point of the book is made. It doesn't pretend to be a true profile of Trump. The predictions section is pretty bogus, in that predicting behavior based on a profile is a very shaky bit of science--they are guesses based on these traits and then broadly applied to Trump and his cabinet. Several predictions made by the author have not come to pass, or came to pass in the opposite manner predicted. Others were not "spot on," but they could be considered pretty close to the actually outcome. Which is coincidence. I would assume any good profiler would understand that.

If you don't know much about profiling or psychopathology, it is not a bad introduction to these traits, and Trump is certainly a good subject to use as a test case.

Interesting read

I found this book to be a quick look into what's in store for our future outcome, With having such a small minded president and feeling like petty much anyone could probably I also found it to be quite accurate for someone with little experience in profiling. A lot of what was said in this book has already happened . I can't believe how close he was to all the horrible things Trump has done sense he's been in office. I also hate to think that if the author was that accurate about the beginning of Trumps misguided stupidly how close will his profile be later down the line. The things that Donald Trump will do to curb his insanity and his crazy ideas about making America great again can only mean terror and violence upon the american people while taking away what we all hold dear in our hearts and that's our pursuit to happiness in a country we all love and call home... I completely recommend this book to anyone that has sat and wondered what actually go on inside of Donald Trump head and what makes him tick, and how such a hateful selfish perverted and very unstable man could possible

Close but no cigar

Dr Decker's assessment of Trump as a narcissist was right on the money but even Dr Decker couldn't have known that North Korea would successfully test a thermonuclear bomb or that Kim Jung Un would play Trump like a fiddle.

Even though Decker couldn't have seen the outbreak of a global pandemic, the lack of preparedness and the inability to get it under control due to Trump's narcissist personality were completely consistent with the profile.

Decker incorrectly assumed that Trump would not do anything illegal. He forgot that a narcissist in a position where critics are the norm, will escalate.

Trump became more brazen about his ability to break the law with impunity. With the failure of the Senate to convict, Trump flagrantly and unabashedly broke laws routinely.

The predicted recession is more likely to be a great depression, and Trump has already decided that he "the rules don't apply" as far as blocking the bones of as many as 50 million people to stay in office

Good analysis, interesting read

I thought it was pretty spot with a lot of stuff, especially Trumps personality, but a lot of predictions seemed kind of obvious. That might be because I'm reading this almost two months into his presidency though (hindsight is 20/20). One thing I think the writer did not (and probably could not at the time) account for is Steve Bannon being in such a high position of power in the white house and manipulating Trumps decisions, decisions he might not have made otherwise. Overall it was an interesting and informative read.

Lacks scientific/psychological validity- save your money

Despite claiming knowledge of FBI Behavioral Analysis understanding, the author progresses from a faulty premise at the start. Narcissistic personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder (psychopaths) share some common denominators but are two distinct disorders and cannot be combined into one.

His “predictions” are drawn from Trumps own political campaign and the only surprise is that Trump is actually doing what he promised.

There’s nothing informative or new. Don’t waste your time or money.

Nothing new here

We’ve all seen lots of profiling on tv. Many of the narcissistic items in the lists are on point, but my understanding is that narcissism is a personality disorder, sociopathy is what we see in DJT, psychopathy means all of the same characteristics mentioned, but the psychopath is not dealing in reality, what used to be referred to as “crazy”. Perhaps I am incorrect, but anyway....the predictions are some yes, some no. Now, as we prepare for the 2020 election, we have witnessed enough to make an informed vote in November.....I hope!

Some on some off. Definitely a narcissist

This was read in Sept. of 2020. No doubt that President Trump is a Narcissist. The predictions of his communications seem right on. The predictions for foreign relations was interesting. Of course no one saw COVID-19 coming. One of the campaign issues against him is his lack of empathy. The other is a standing joke- the grandeur, the insults of people he doesn't like, the telling of lies that are an overstatement of his abilities. Saying that he sees others as paper people really clarifies that he views everyone the same way.

Must read for every American

This book was dead right about Donald Trump and the role he will take as President it is hard to understand how intelligent people overlook Trump’s outrageous behavior and still want him to lead our country no matter what good he did during his 4 years in office it in no way out weights his narcissistic behavior and there is no excuse to allow him to run our country this book clearly shows Donald Trump for what he is and should be a wake up call for all Americans

Unbiased.......Hummmmmmm

With President Trump's first "100 Days" behind him, several projections/predictions of this author are "spot on," while other areas seem to be painted with such a "wide brush" plus that of the presidents actions are likely regardless of profile findings could be predicted. Hence the reason for my rating of 4 stars.

In closing too..... I do feel this author compiled his book in a very fair and unbiased way.

A cheap, quick read

Bought this on a whim because it was cheap. Interesting but nothing new. I had a very sad and expensive marriage to a woman with a severe personality disorder and immediately recognized the same symptoms in Trump. So sad to see him dragging the country down. America should be ashamed that they could not recognize such an obviously damaged and dysfunctional person.

Fair attempt at summarizing Donald Trumps actions.

I guess being a Trump hater I was not able to read this book with a unbiased look.
The author has done a good job of pining down Trump, but I guess every one already know what an asshole he is. I am so sorry our country will have to put up with him for another 3 years.
God help us if he runs again and wins, I worry our country will be able to stand 8 years of his non leadership

Right on Target

This was a quick read and it made me want to know more about the diagnosis, itself.I did enjoy the accuracy of some of the predictions. It was almost like reading a book after watching the movie. Of course there was no way the author could have predicted the Pandemic and the demonstrations. Definitely these are plot twists that we never saw coming. This was an interesting hour.
