The author of Soar! and God Turns Pressure into Power shares a spiritual, inspirational gift—a call to action from God to succeed and achieve what you are worth.
Using ageless biblical principles, Bishop T. D. Jakes teaches that every moment of every day, God provides all we need to achieve success. In Maximize the Moment , he explains how to release ourselves from damaging relationships and debilitating fears, how to face and conquer obstacles that may stand in our path to success, and how to move beyond our painful pasts.
Bishop T.D. Jakes is the author of the bestsellers God's Leading Lady; The Lady, Her Lover and Her Lord; Maximize the Moment; The Great Investment; His Lady; Woman, Thou art Loosed (the film of which won the Best Film Award at the Santa Barbara Film Festival) and He-Motions. His daily morning show The Potter's Touch and weekly broadcast The Potter's House air on Trinity Broadcasting Network and Black Entertainment Television, as well as in Europe and South America. Bishop Jakes is the founder and pastor of The Potter's House, one of the fastest-growing churches in the nation, where he leads an interracial congregation of more than 28,000 members. He lives in Dallas with his wife and five children.
T.D. Jakes does a great job in helping readers to reflect on why maximizing the moment is so important. One example he uses in the book is the death of his mother. He clearly helps his readers move out of the past and into the now. It is a 200 page book that I read in a day. I purchased it on a Friday in Jamaica and finished that Saturday night on the flight home.
Absolutely recommend this book! I underlined almost every sentence on every page. Unfortunately I loaned it to someone who did not return it, therefore my plan is to read it again.
I started Maximize the Moment not long after New Year's with the intent of making 2016 a better year than 2015. My momentum was good in the beginning, but after I was able to accomplish a key goal, I put the book away. Big mistake!! As with a major theme in the book, how you start is not as important as how you finish. I read this book at a time where I feel like if I continue on the path I'm on, I will never feel as if I fulfilled my purpose. I needed an extra push to get me to really think about what's next. The biblical principals such as Paul continuing to read & write while imprisoned was such an inspiration. Having a plan is essential, remembering that a plan should be open to revision is imperative.
Not what I expected but even better! I thought it would be a time management book but so far it has been about relationships - those that enable us to be our best and those that tend to drag us down and delay our progress. Some might think this would be easy to see but often it is the subtle things that do the most damage because we don't notice the impact they are having. Every page gave me something to reflect upon.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was both informative and motivational. I would highly recommend it to anyone needing encouragement, advice, or just a little perspective on how to best use the time you have. It was a great book and one I would definitely read again!
this is also another good motivational book thru the entire book you will find yourself shaking your head in agreement as if he is right there speaking directly to you ....
I swear I think T.D. Jakes and I are of the same mind. He speaks to my soul so easily, and his words ring out in my ears. This is an excellent read for soul searching! It will cleanse you!
