A complete epic fantasy trilogy for fans of Brandon Sanderson and Patrick Rothfuss who love compelling characters and outstanding world-building. Over 1300 pages.
A land broken. A realm shattered. A race enslaved.
Two thousand years have passed since the Shattering. Humans rule and the once powerful faerie have no more rights than a dog.
Isiilde, a coveted nymph, is destined to be sold when she comes of age, but her formidable guardian, Oenghus Saevaldr, has other ideas. Unfortunately, even he - the Bloody Berserker of Nuthaan - can't single-handedly protect a nymph from men and gods alike. Desperate, he carries her away to the Isle of the Wise Ones to beseech a mad seer for refuge.
A secret sways the ancient, but his choice comes at a cost. A thousand wars have been fought over possession of a single nymph, and this one's mere presence proves disastrous. Isiilde's strange affinity with fire, stemming from Chaos itself, makes her every waking moment fraught with danger.
As Oenghus strives to carve a future for the nymph, Isiilde trembles on a precipice, caught between the lust of men, the greed of kings, and an eternal struggle for dominance. As three powerful kingdoms vie to own her, the fire in her blood awakens, sparking a cataclysm that spirals into disaster.
Includes A Thread in the Tangle, King's Folly, and The Broken God.
Sabrina lives in perpetual fog and sunshine with a rock troll and two crazy imps. She spent her youth trailing after insanity, jumping off bridges, climbing towers, and riding down waterfalls in barrels. After spending fifteen years wrestling giant hounds and battling pint-sized tigers, she now travels everywhere via watery portals leading to anywhere.
She is the award-winning author of the epic fantasy series Legends of Fyrsta and the historical mystery series Ravenwood Mysteries.
A great fantasy series from beginning to end. Wonderful world building and unique characters make this a must read for fantasy and non-fantasy lovers. alike. From the first page of the first book to the conclusion of the last in the trilogy, this is a ride you won't want to miss
I didn't know what to expect from this series as it was a cheap Amazon buy and those can be hit or miss. I read all three as one book (didn't take breaks in between) and somewhere in the second book I was debating whether to finish the series or not. The emphasis everyone put on the nymph was starting to get a little too much.
I changed my mind in the third book. That's where everything comes together and all the threads tie off with the exception of one or two. I really liked the world building and I liked most of the character development. I did wish for more history involved. It left me wondering about some of the events in the book, how magic fit in, and a few other things that I won't go into due to spoilers.
I don't know if she has any other books in the series but I'd be open to reading more.
I love a good fantasy story that explores social injustices with no clear consensus on what's right and wrong. Legends of Fyrsta fits the bill with familiar themes such as man vs. nature and morality vs. persecution. Overall, the story was surprisingly graphic and had a well rounded cast of characters. I gave this book collection three stars because there were some things about the world-building I didn't particularly agree with.
I enjoy a well written trilogy with paranormal characters that hold a strong bond with each other. This series is one of the best! I am looking forward to seeing what else Sabrina Flynn has to offer!
This was a wonderful little series. Great character development. I appreciated the writing which made me giggle often. Also, I normally do not like sex in book but this was respectful. If you like fairy and magic, you'll likely enjoy this book . I did.
