Blinded
Mona Foster is a young ambitious teenager determined to escape a life of poverty and shame. Being the first person in her family to gain a high school diploma, she has set the tone for greatness. But her prominent future becomes so nebulous that she turns to the streets for guidance and support. She soon realizes that the ''life'' of fast money and frivolous behaviors has not only plagued her, but other family members as well, suffering the same issues that were handed down for generations. In spite of her failed attempts to overcome her problems, she's determined to triumph once again.

Shout out to Miss KaShamba Williams. This was such an incredible story, well written. The ending was so shocking, I thought Mona was going to reunite with her saved mother but Cam made that impossible. Anyhow, I enjoyed.

I read this book when i was in middle school so its been a minute but it was worth the buy. I loved everything about it. Even though it started out slow it was great. The sequel GRIMEY was even better.

The story of Mona is a sad one, but one that is far too often true. There were parts of the story where I found myself confused, not with the context, but with the writing. I felt like the writing was missing quite a few details and it was jumping around from one place to the next. I do wish that the story was longer and more detailed. The book focuses on themes of poverty, drug dealing, DV and SA. The author got her message across. An easy read.

BLINDED WAS THE FIRST BOOK I HAVE READ BY KASHAMBA WILLIAMS, I AM GLAD THAT WHEN I BOUGHT BLINDED, I ALSO BOUGHT THE SEQUEL GRIMEY. BLINDED WAS A EASY TO FOLLOW, AND FOR ME I READ IT IN A FEW HOURS, ONCE YOU GET INTO IT, IT IS HARD TO PUT DOWN. SO EASY TO SAY I AM READY TO JUMP STRAIGHT FORWARD WITH GRIMEY, AND SEE WHERE IT TAKES ME.
BLINDED IS ABOUT A YOUNG GIRL NAMED MONA. MONA LEADS BY EXAMPLE OF HER MOTHER RHONDA WHO IS A DRUG ADDICT, AND USES THE MEN IN HER LIFE TO FATTEN HER POCKETS, AND NOURISH HER DRUG APPETITE. YATTA IS MONA'S BROTHER WHO IS A KNOWN DRUG DEALER. MONA LIKES THE ATTENTION SHE GETS FROM HER GOOD LOOKS, AND THE MONEY SHE GAINS BECAUSE OF THEM.
MONA IS INFATUATING WITH A RAPPER NAMED CONTROVERSY, SHE HAS EVERY INTENTION OF GETTING NEXT TIME HIM. HOWEVER SHE MEETS CAM FROM CONTROVERSY'S CREW, AND STARTS A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM.

I read this book in the 6th grade, and by the first chapter I was hooked. At first glance I thought that I wasn't going to like it, but then a couple of my friends kept telling me that it was a good book to read and that it was really interesting so I decided to read it. Reading this book only took me like four days and after that i started reading the sequel Grimey.
There were many reasons why I liked this book. First, it kept me interested and one the edge of my seat till the end. In, my opinion it was one of the better books that I have read. Most books start to bore me after awhile but this one didn't. Also, I liked this book because it related to real life problems, which I thought was really smart of the author.
In Conclusion, I would recommend this book to any one who hasn't read it yet. Since I am a picky reader there are few books that I actually enjoy and really like, but this was one of the few books that actually drew me in.

First time reading a book by this author I say it was a so so book.
Book mainly was about this girl Mona that wanted to finsh school and go run up behind a rapper name Controversy but, instand she ends up with Cam one of the guys that hangs out with COntroversy. Mona likes the lifestyle that Cam giving her so she ends up moving to New York and leaving Delware her mom that is a crack head her grandma and her brother that is a hothead out selling drugs. But, Mona thinks she has it all until she starts finding out the other part of Cam though Cam's baby mama Nikki that happens to pop up.
Cam has a lot of demons in his close and Mona finds out but, still stays around while he treats her like crap. Mona starts sleeping with Cam friend Prince since she wasn't getting any from Cam but, Mona was still stuck on getting with Controversy and which she did and that lead her trying to run back home to Delware to her family.
Book was so so.

this was one of my first reads by her and I could not put it down. I am hooked on kashamba Williams. she is a beast.
