This review is for the whole series

An urban fantasy BL novel series set initially in Japan and later in Malta. MC was a naive 18 years old who was raised by a loving family and made some dumb mistakes initially that ended up in life-threatening situations. I was worried that he would keep making rash and dumb decisions and that would made this an irritating read, but he grew more and more mature, and eventually feels comfortable at the leadership role in a secret cult. This gradual maturing process is actually pretty interesting to read. The plot is well thought out and there is never a dull moment throughout the series. It’s so good that even the author wrote that this series was the best story they had written so far in the afterwords in the final volume. Personally, I feel like the plot of this series can rival a lot of popular general LNs. If this wasn’t in a niche genre like BL, it would have been way more popular than it is given how solid the plot is. On the other hand, I’m grateful that sensei wrote this in the BL genre so BL readers like me have great BL works to enjoy. For the romance part, the love triangle remains all the way to the end, just like I had hoped for😆
