Abscission gets my vote for being the best example of how good a writer Ruby Loren us!The location, story and characters each complimented the other.
Abscission, the second book in Ruby Lorens' young adult series Blooming, is a testament to the author's outstanding writing skills.
The ability to write a "can't put it down" book around two people taking their friendship to the next level of living together is no easy feat.
The activities at Heathley Park and Garden allowed for Loren's storyline to progress realistically revealling both great writing and great characters. Watching the author tweak her characters as this series unfolds is A-mazing. Can't wait to see what is in store for Lydia and Scott next! Highly reccommend.
Fun Gardening Romance This is a fun and lighthearted story that takes place in a public garden. It gives a lot of insight into the hard work of maintaining those beautiful places that look so carefree. I am looking forward to reading this entire series. While each of these books ‘stand-alone’ nicely, the series should be read in sequence to really enjoy it. I love this author’s style as well as content. Her heroines are well centered and capable while her hero’s are nice guys who care a lot, but are not perfect. I have read many of this author’s books and have enjoyed them all.
This is the 2nd book in the Blooming series and is best read in order. Lydia and Jake both want to move from volunteering at Heathley Gardens to being an employed gardener. This book has it all - romance, competitiveness, humor, a little drama. The characters are well developed and grow with each book. The storyline is interesting, moves at a good pace, and is engaging. It was hard to put down! Well worth reading to see what happens with their relationships, the job, and the other characters!
Sensational story in the most positive of manners. Lydia is wonderful. Jake continues his chauvinistic ways. Scott is predominantly one with a British, stiff upper lip. Some characters from book one leave Heathley park. New characters arrive. And the world goes on. I look forward to the next book in the series.
