Two twisted tales from the dark dimension that is Netherspace. Are you prepared to follow two lost travellers in two entriely different yet strange journeys in this dark planetary system.
Neatherspace is a rich world in a land, far, far away, and the text is deep in texture. Each story builds a patch on this intricate quilt of science fiction. As a reader, I felt lost in the depths of despair of the character in the first story. The imagery felt real, and I had to pause. What a great start!
One of the things I enjoy the most about Mr. Mitchell's stories is the descriptions of the planets, creatures and even the emotional descriptions for the main characters.
I'm a new reader to this genre, but I have to say that I've really enjoyed reading Mr. Mitchell's work. As a new reader, he provides the mental imagery I need in order to be able to follow along with the story line. There are times where I have to slow down my reading in order to absorb all the information being given, but once I am able to 'see' the image...WOW!
I look forward to the back stories as well as more! I feel like I was just beginning to connect with the characters when the stories ended!
This was a very interesting short with deep characters a rich setting with a constructed language, and fully realised universe. I think my only gripe is that they're so short. I'd really like to get to know the places more and the characters within. Especially because it seems there's so much scope. A full novel in this universe would be great and I look forward to more.
